Thanks for the informative video. I've replaced the windshield/A-pillar, B-pillar, rear hatch and the door/dash seals you showed in your video so far. It has significantly helped with keeping the water out of the C4. I unfortunately have to keep mine outside until I sell my other vehicle that is taking up space in the garage. Currently daily driving a '96 C4 in the same Bright Aqua Metallic but with an LT1 instead of the LT4. Very beautiful cars. Good time to buy them before everyone discovers how cool C4's really are!
Thanks for the comments, glad it was helpful. The C4's and how good they are is one of the worst kept secrets in the Corvette community, but as long as people keep bashing on them it makes it easier to find them decently priced.
Hello Brian great video again is there any way that you can prevent the leaking I guess the only thing you could do is just replace the weather stripping and put rubber sealant on the weather streaming to make it last longer do you have any ideas on to prevent the leaking thank you for all the information about the Corvettes this is really cool stuff I enjoy it
Actually, GM recommends the application of silicone liquid to the weatherstripping as needed to keep it pliable and reduce the likelihood of dry rot. Of course, if it's at point of being hard and cracked already, there's no way to really save it. Glad you're enjoying the channel👍.
Hi, what about the convertible reason. You mentioned you'll come back to the convertible issue on why water is entering through the cabin near the feet area. Is there drain what could be clogged under the hood?
not any different drain on the convertibles, but they have several more potential water intrusion points that will began to show up as the weatherstripping ages over time
You can get a C4 cover that only covers the windows , not the whole car . That will keep any rain out of the car and sun for that matter until you replace all the rubber seals components that leak . Rubbing sylicone lubricant on the rubber will also help a little until you replace bits . ;-)
Yep. I forgot to mention the silicone lubricant in the video, thanks for reminding me. I forgot about the window only covers. I'll have to look into whether or not those will work in conjunction with a whole car cover since the Texs sun destroys paint pretty well.
Hey Mako, from what I can see the aftermarket Corvette suppliers offer them new for around $60-$75. I found some listed on ebay. I also have good used wind laces available if needed. Just let me know👍.
Hey quick suspension question: so the Trans AM's WS6 suspension is marketed as a "Corvette suspension", how accurate is that? Could one conceivably swap the parts from a Corvette to a Trans AM and effectively give it that WS6 package? Does the Firebird's "performance suspension" dash emblem mean it has this suspension even if its missing "WS6" on the options tag? Considering a round robin suspension swap between a late-80s Corvette, '88 trans AM and '92 Cadillac in that order.
Hey SnowLeopard, even though it was called a "corvette suspension" it should have been referred to as a "corvette like" suspension. There aren't any interchangeable suspension parts between the two cars except for maybe the PBR brake calipers, but I don't believe the caliper bracket mount hole spacing is the same. As far as I know, if the build sheet or window sticker doesn't specify WS6, then it would be a base suspension car. You may have been able to order individual heavy duty suspension pieces on some of the more base cars, but I'm pretty sure the WS6 RPO Code was set aside for the Formula and Trans Am cars only.
WOULD BE INRTERSTED in a 92 up here in indiana 6 speed electric suspenion all options 2 tops paint is shot all around the says blow up tires and drive it I havent done that yet but I have seen it in town I went to see what he wanted for it he said 4k I just dont know give me a path here
Sounds like a nicely optioned cat. With that being said, at 4K it should at least run and drive, even if it's just down the street. If it won't start and with the bad paint, it's in the $2500 range.
This helped me today with my 96.
Great! Glad to hear it👍.
Great informative video! Thanks for sharing your knowledge on the Corvettes👍
No problem, Chris. Glad to do it👍
Great info as always love this channel 👍
Thanks Jackson, glad you're enjoying it👍.

Interesting do you know what that cover is called or where to buy it? I can't seem to find one.
I believe they are called windshield covers. I know I saw them on Amazon when we were having this discussion several months back.
i need a driver side wind lace i didn't know what it was called, mind is rotted, i wonder how much they are!

I am looking for an aqua teal top.
Hi Mario, sorry I don't have any Aqua tops at the moment.

Ya just cant drive these old babys in the rain or let them sit out right LMAO
That's for sure, gotta keep up with them fairly often if they're going to live outside for awhile.
EASY FIX KEEP IN GARAGE DONT DRINVE IN RAIN?/LOLOL
I like the way you think, Willy😁. Too bad there's no more room in the garage for this beauty.
That's exactly what I do lol
Mine is always in the garage lol but rain comes when you least expect it when travelling 😉😋
Yep, nothing like water splashing all over your leg while you're cruising down the highway😁.
