The Heide set is still to this day one of my fav amour sets in the games series. Just wish it wasn't so hard to acquire in DS2

Wish it returned in DS3. We got Herald set instead wich has a white cape but it just aint the same.
Same, honestly. It's just got that 'worn warrior' look I love for soulsgames, it fits the setting super well.

1:12 Pretty sure that flurry is from the regular Ashina soldiers in Sekiro, So we have a DS2 enemy in a DS3 mod doing a Sekiro move. Thats pretty awesome
I think It's whole moveset or at least a big part of it comes from Sekiro. It's pretty great.

This area is so nostalgic to me i was new to the souls series and spent alot of time coming back here to grind
Several questions:
1. Will there be a jump button like Elden Ring?
2. What's the estimated length of time it should take the average player to finish this mod?
3. Are you keeping the Demon Souls HUD? (I personally think you should but make it a but smaller)
4. Will we be able to do the Sekiro block and parry like the enemies?
5. What's the estimated release date and how far in development are you guys?
Everything looks awesome and a lot better than what was showcased in the older outdated videos. The movement and animations are a lot smoother and the graphics and atmosphere are better. Great job.
Can’t answer any of your other questions but I do remember them answering the first one. There will not be jumping in the mod

I like how they Heide knights move and fight, but their sound design could use some work
is there a projected release date for this mod? regardless this looks awesome. ds2 will always be my favorite and im happy its getting almost a partial remake with this mod

The golems are in the game and they are like 3-4 times the size of these guys. If anything they have too much of them.
There's the bloodhound knight and pumpkin head
Golems and Carian Knight Trolls will remember that.

Sometimes i think, what if someone took DS2 and just... added an actual lighting? Sped up animations, stamina recovery speed, put less aggressive enemies around and more passive. Wouldn't it be pretty close to DS3, then?
Then that is not DS2 at that point now is it.
@@ColdNorth0628 well enemy placement aside, is slow speed of everything really that necessary for DS2 to be a DS2? Absence of lighting? Because it looks literally like DS3 with lighting bugged out.
I personally liked the slower animations for weapons in DS2, as it gave the impression that they had weight, instead of DS3 where it felt like you were swinging around foam swords.
The stamina recovery speed was fine, it was slow only when you fully exhausted your stamina or were fairly encumbered.
Less aggressive enemies and passivity encourages the player to run through the area rather than clearing it out. It should be an actual risk when running through an area and ignoring its encounters.
I'm not a huge fan personally of DS3 mostly because of how badly they butchered Casters, something that was unfortunately carried over to Elden Ring. (Elden Ring handled spells really well, everything else involving Casters? Ehhh....)
Dark Souls 2 definitely needs the remake treatment to beautify it in general and to give it several quality-of-life improvements. However, making DS2 more like DS3 would be a detriment to the game as a whole.
DS2 actually has better lighting and shadows at some parts of the game than any other fromsoft game. It can actually do self-shadows and even dynamic shadows at some points. The engine is actually capable of quite lots of things, but they had to nerf DS2 for consoles.
As for the gameplay elements, they are mostly personal preference but I like DS2 combat as it is. There are some wonky animations they could fix, and there could be more interesting bosses, especially in the base game.
Google Flames of Old mod, it looks great. Alas, the creator of the mod is in a really bad shape mentally right now, so I wouldn't expect it to release anytime soon.

@goggles789 my souls rule has always been to play with max vigor 35 or else it becomes too easy but this games health system is just a joke so I’m probably gonna do that 😂 a lot of the things in this game are a joke compared to ds3
@goggles789 yeah i know its a different system but are you aware some bosses like melania didnt even follow the system for like months? im not sure if they patched it by now but she literally didnt play by the rules of the game. stuff like that shows how the games difficulty wasnt planned very well they just thought "lets throw a boss in that does half your health with one hit and has a 40 second combo attack with no attack windows for the player" for like all the bosses artificial difficulty ahh game

could you please add yorgh's spear w/ the ds2 moveset? it is my favorite ds2 weapon, its just so damn cool w/ the greatsword/lance/spear/twinblade hybrid moveset and that incredibly fast flurry of slashes for the 2h r1

I'm trying so hard to figure out what the base is of that Heide knight. I recognize the animations, but not them linked together like that, am I crazy and just forgetting an enemy that uses all of those together?
a lot of ppl suggest it's an enemy from sekiro though I can't tell off by heart
Some of the animations are from the darkwraiths in ds3, some like the block are from sekiro

with the low hp of all the mobs this better be like a starting area. lol everything looks like it only has 500ish hp, will die in 3ish hits at level 1. unless of course you've changed the numbers so much that this is actually endgame and doing 100+ dmg is a lot

The fact that no das2 animations ever get used is hilarious
Ds2 anims aren't able to be extracted, otherwise I'm sure at least a few of them would be, albeit modified for smoothness and to keep pace with ds3 speed.

@@narutofan4545 🤔 If there are, I think they might just be recreations. Ds2 runs off a completely different engine compared to ds3 and Elden Ring.
