I enjoy these aircraft reviews so much. I'm not a pilot but have always loved aviation. Absolutely enjoy the thoroughness of the reviews. Found myself becoming fascinated with helicopters after watching through the other reviews. Very pleased to see a fixed wing review!
I just recently acquired a 1946 GC-1B that's technically a "basket case" but it's all there and I intend to restore it to original condition with the 125hp Continental and hopefully period correct instrument panel.
great little plane. my dad almost bought one back in 1958 when I was young, but could not reach a deal with the owner, I loved that plane, it reminded me of a fighter of ww2.
Always a fan of the Swift and a friend of a Swift owner in El Paso 40+ years ago (hello Waldo if you're still kicking.) This was a fantastic video, Nick. Simon, you are a fortunate bloke to lavish all this TLC on her. Well done you two.
That new cowling looks almost like the Lo-presti cowling that was made for the PA28. Love the new canopy. She really looks the business. Having that 210 up front certainly makes for a spritely take off
Hey Nick…I’ve enjoyed your Porsche reviews but had no idea you are into aircraft as well. I was looking up the Swift & found this by chance. Well done!
Great Video. Have always loved the swift. I fly a 1967 150 texas tail dragger right now. Had a 1966 citabria several years back which was a joy to fly. flew about 65 hours in it and then went nose wheel for many years. Have flown the 150 about 6 hours now so still kinda rusty on my rudder skills but sure would like to trade up to a swift one day. Beautiful plane.
I'm a pilot. I found your channel from your posts about your new 911. But now I see that you do aircraft reviews. I'm a fixed wing guy, so I hope you continue with these. I teach people how to fly Cessna Citation business jets. I used to fly in the airlines, US Airways. Anyway, love your channel so far and look forward to watching more episodes.
Nick Murray that would be cool. I work for the worlds largest aviation training company. We have $15 Million video games (Simulators). Maybe some day, bosses allowing, we could get you in one of our sims.
Nick, every time I get a notification from your channel, I watch it as soon as possible, and videos like this are exactly the reason. I get to live vicariously through you. While I may be stuck in my basement working on fixing broken technology from home, I can be transported to beautiful aircraft, amazing cars, or even get a laugh from your sister. It's fantastic. Keep up the great work sir!
Thank YOU for bringing us out of the doldrum of our everyday lives. Personally I enjoy this more than Roman Atwood. You deserve 10 million viewers. We just need to get the word out!!!
I’m sure you know my buddy Dave Carpenter and his 250hp cream and maroon swift. I’ve had the fortune of flying his a couple times and it’s certainly a top 3 dream aircraft of mine. I’d like an original airframe with maybe 150horse engine.
Nick...I love your work and have watched every episode. This one struck a special chord with me as this is the plane my dad had while growing up. I used to sit on two pillows in order to sit high enough. Great memories in N78271!
Beautiful plane!!!!!! The digital gauges are great when the gauges are off to the side as far as they are. The space between the gauge face and the gauge needle will cause quite a bit of parallax and give you improper readings on the gauges. Traditional gauges are designed to be read straight in front of the users eyes so there is no parallax between the gauge needles and the display face of the gauge. That give the digital gauges an advantage because you never have to "guess" if you've got everything dialed in perfectly.
Nick that was awsome!! That might have been my favorite aircraft you've reviewed so far. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make such high quality content. I am a car guy at heart but I still love aviation.
Wish you would have gone over the basics of flying an fixed wing air plane like you did with helicopters. Still a very interesting video. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Nick - I enjoy your videos - especially the car reviews. Many thanks for taking the trouble. I look forward to seeing your new 911. I have a 991 C4S and love it. Cheers, Alan
I had a 1946 GC-1B, in central New York State, from 1959 to 1961 - 3793K, Bought it and sold it for $2,500. It's still flying, in south Florida. Coming from a J-5 Cub Cruiser, it was quite a learning experience.
jm: If you have the means, and are content with a two place airplane, do it. It will be a flying and ownership experience you won't regret, whether you opt for a classic original GC-1B, or one of the many modifications. I had a 1946 model from 1958 to 1960, in my 20s, following a J-5 Cub Cruiser,(3793K, still flying in South Florida)which I bought and sold for $2500. I only sold it to fund further training toward my eventual (1966) airline employment.
Awesome review! You could really make this a full time job. I would definitely pay for a steady stream of quality aircraft reviews like the last few you have done. Please keep up the good work!!
Hello Nick. That was an excellent review of a beautiful airplane. I'm an airline pilot myself and I've been thinking of buying a private aircraft. I hadn't even considered a Swift until I watched this video, and now I think it's what I will end up purchasing for myself next year. Very nice indeed, especially with the 210 engine.
I still prefer the originally configuration Swift, however, with the 145 HP Continental, like the 1946 model I had back in 1959-61. Bought, then sold, for $2500.
Such a well upgraded example of this airframe! Were STC available for all those improvements/modifications or has it been converted to an EAB? The short takeoff roll and steep climb out were Impressive! I expected cruise speed to be higher though. To bad Tui couldn't come along.
Nick! Thanks for this video, I’m thinking of trying to acquire a swift and live near by Simon, would there be a way you could put us in touch with each other so I could pick his brain about this gorgeous birdie?
I’m not lying if this is in Switzerland my grandpa owned a 1949 globe temco swift and upgraded it with new body panels, upgraded engine, and conversion and it went to Switzerland.
Is this aircraft still rated 'mild aerobatics' capable with the perspex canopy modification and the larger engine? The metal cockpit-framed smaller-engined originals were semi-aerobatic rated, is that correct?
Great video gentlemen. Outstanding renovated Swift!
Swifts are such beautiful birds. Congrats!
I enjoy these aircraft reviews so much. I'm not a pilot but have always loved aviation. Absolutely enjoy the thoroughness of the reviews. Found myself becoming fascinated with helicopters after watching through the other reviews. Very pleased to see a fixed wing review!
Thanks for the kind comment Ben
my thoughts exactly.
Beautiful little bird!
I just recently acquired a 1946 GC-1B that's technically a "basket case" but it's all there and I intend to restore it to original condition with the 125hp Continental and hopefully period correct instrument panel.
My Dad had a student who bought a Globe Swift. It was a beautiful plane and he really enjoyed it.
There is something so beautiful about low wing propeller aircrafts
Hands down the best Swift review or production on the entire web. Thank you.

What a beautiful little plane! Thank you for sharing this experience Nick, I hope there is more to come!
Loved this Nick, genuinely felt like I was there with you both squashed in the back ;-)
That new cowling looks almost like the Lo-presti cowling that was made for the PA28. Love the new canopy. She really looks the business. Having that 210 up front certainly makes for a spritely take off
That owner's got one smooth soothing voice!
Hey Nick…I’ve enjoyed your Porsche reviews but had no idea you are into aircraft as well. I was looking up the Swift & found this by chance. Well done!
What a beautiful plane and a perfectly done review !!!
What a beauty! Thanks for sharing
Nick - a great video of an awesome airplane. Thank you for making the effort.

I legit have zero knowledge of anything that's going on, but I always love these vids!
wonderful video and a beautiful Temco Swift

Fabulous video Nick...thank you for making it.
Thanks for the plane ride Nick!

What a sweet aircraft! Thanks for the great video Nick!
Really great video. Not many people going in-depth on GA stuff anymore, great to see.
Beautiful plane!!!!!!

Wow what a great looking set of wings
Great video - enjoyed this a lot Nick
Beautiful aircraft. I like the original Art Deco dashboard!
Brought back many memories 25 years ago when I was learning to get my licence.
Really nice Nick! Beautiful airplane. That thing is fast! I really love your camera angles and such too. Great video! Franny
Love the Swift! Thanks for the video.
Nick that was awsome!! That might have been my favorite aircraft you've reviewed so far. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to make such high quality content. I am a car guy at heart but I still love aviation.
Awesome Video as always Nick, loved it. I just can't think about how you did the shot in the air, breathtaking view
Those in air shots are beautiful
What a great looking aircraft!
Wow, great video Nick!
Wow, how pleasant even to only watch this flight..
Really a enjoyable aircraft reviews. Thanks.
Wish you would have gone over the basics of flying an fixed wing air plane like you did with helicopters. Still a very interesting video. Thanks for sharing!
I take it the air-to-air was shot in a V-Tail Bonanza ;) You should do a review on that too :D Great video as always! Love them!
Ive been considering purchasing one of these aircraft. Much appreciated video!
Hi Nick - I enjoy your videos - especially the car reviews. Many thanks for taking the trouble. I look forward to seeing your new 911. I have a 991 C4S and love it. Cheers, Alan
Wow! That's the swiftest Swift I've ever seen.
(Not the Swifty-est, but the original never really lived-up to its name.) Thanks!
Beautiful plane. Exactly why some of us learn to fly taildraggers =)
Man what a cool 😎 airplane.

Lovely review
Love the aircraft reviews - especially the helicopters
What a beauty
What a lovely little aircraft Nick. Really enjoyed your review - even if it was from a rotary pilot....!
Nice vid.
As a fixed wing PPL'er myself I was hoping Nick would review an airplane :) Also internal coms where perfect this time Nick!
Super sweet aircraft :) Do more aircraft reviews please :)
Why I like the nick, because there is a cars and planes. :)
The aftermarket cowling is very sleek, and with the upgrade in power, it's fast.
What a beauty! Always wanted a Swift, but never got around to one. (Not yet anyway....:-)

More of these aircraft reviews Nick.
Keep up the quality content Nick!
VERY, VERY NICE PLANE!!
I'm so jealous I love that airplane
Looks like a Vans aircraft. The canopy and engine cowling seem to be the same as rv-7. Awesome
Nice! I flown a lot of GA aircraft, but never a Swift. Looks sporty, much like an old 911!
so true,,just what I was think,,like my 1979 930
Very cool.
• Cheers from The Detroit & Mackinac Railway 🚂
So nice thanks Nick!
Spectacular plane.
This is the "Spinal Tap" of aircraft interviews.

Beautiful aircraft!
Very nice aircraft and good video!!
Love the aircraft reviews
Can you review a Vans RV-7? Migthy impressive all around!
Beautiful aircraft, thanks for sharing. The V-Tail Bonanza is a nice aircraft too.....hint hint.....
mustang1191 I thought the V-tail bonanza is a dangerous aircraft
mustang1191 I thought the V-tail bonanza is a dangerous aircraft
V-Tails are fine aircraft but as with other Bonanzas, it's a high performance craft and unforgiving of inexperience.
Ah the doctor killer
I’m not a pilot but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Did you see that the "works power kit" is now available to order, for delivery sometimes in April 2017? 450PS...not bad.
Great audio this time!
nice Nick....

STC’s for some things like sliding canopy, engine, stick conversions etc. Over 150 337’s though!!
attaboy with the fixed wing review!
That was a dope landing though
The plane is seriously cool.
So Nick, when you review any fighter aircraft you should play heavy metal instead of classical to illustrate how crazy they are
Awesome....
Hi nick! I'm from Cape Town South Africa. I have 2 BMW 333
Beautiful
Finnaly!! My kind of aircraft!
Nick! Thanks for this video, I’m thinking of trying to acquire a swift and live near by Simon, would there be a way you could put us in touch with each other so I could pick his brain about this gorgeous birdie?
email me
Very Nice!
I’m not lying if this is in Switzerland my grandpa owned a 1949 globe temco swift and upgraded it with new body panels, upgraded engine, and conversion and it went to Switzerland.
This was my grandfathers plane confirmed by the registration number and uh btw nice job wrecking the plane twice
Subbed!

Suberb stuff. A youtube marvel this channel.
Well shucks there goes my daydream about flying super models around in one "P
