Great airmanship! Amazing video! My first ever flight in a small aircraft was in a Swift. Went on to get my ppl and fly many different planes, but never had a chance to fly a Swift.
I had the great honor to fly with Charlie Nelson in his Swift and Buckaroo out of McMinn County Airport in the early 80s. Surpized you didn't mention what makes Morristown Regional Airport special. Evelyn Bryan Johnson was the instructor there and did FAA check rides. She did mine. She was a delight but always made sure that pilot's were completely proficient. The Swift was so ahead of it's time and many modern pilots don't realize how great the airplane really is.
Thanks for this video. Takes me back a long time to my childhood. My father owned a Swift for a time in the 1960s, although it was painted. I have a couple of memories from it - the time one of the side windows blew out in flight and the time we got stuck after landing on a beach on a basically uninhabited island just off the North Carolina coast.
Another well produced video. I watched it with a slight tinge of jealousy but mostly enjoyment. I could not help but notice the very wide grin on your face the entire time you were flying. It kind of reminded me of the plane's front grill. :-p Anywho every year at the Triple Tree fly-in there is a large gathering of the swifts, which I always take the opportunity to ogle.
Glad you liked it. Yeah, they're beautiful airplanes that are light on the controls. We're considering making it to Triple Tree this year, so I hope to see you there! Thanks for the kind words and for watching! -Brent
Great video. I flew a Globe Swift in New England in the 1970s. Wonderful aircraft. I really enjoyed the high rate of roll. Loved the way Jim greased on those landings.
@@PlaneDeliciousShow If you do the math of someone flying one of these in the early 1970s, you understand I am no longer a college student! But I am in Florida now, and not all that far from Athens. The museum is on my bucket list.
Glad you love it Wayne! I got my hand smacked by Paul for touching Jim’s plane without a towel. Hahaha! Man, do they love these planes, and I’ll bundle myself in there too! -Brent
Such a fun and beautiful plane. If you have an opportunity, make it to MMI and check out the museum. They have an annual meeting too, where they do formation flights in huge numbers dying their meeting/fly-in.
That’s some serious skill and I also so like the agreed upon nonverbal communication. I do have a question re situational awareness. If both pilots and passengers are looking at each other’s airplanes, who is scanning the rest of the horizon for potential conflicts? A formation flight performing in an airshow box that’s kept clear (hopefully) of that hazard is one thing - open airspace raises those stakes considerably so I’m curious.
The lead plane in formation flying does all the heads up flying. The following planes all look at the plane inside, or the lead plane. Formation flying is great, but should be done with qualified instruction.
Great looking and flying airplanes.

Top of the line aircraft and piloting...thanks for the ride!
Great ride- thank you.

Great production quality….love the swifts!
Great fun!!
I’ve flown formation with Jim, Paul, and Sandy. Plan to again at Swift National next month!
They couldn’t be nicer! Let my son fly with them several times and work the smoke!
This is aviation gold!
Thanks my man! I loved it too! I really want to do the whole day over again!
This was awesome! Great Video!
Thanks! I love your videos too!
Beautiful Birds.

@@PlaneDeliciousShow always a pleasure, my friend. Wish I had the patience to be producing quality material like this. Good work!
Yes!
That was a fun one, my man!

COOL VIDEO GUYS! HI SANDY!! XO :)
That’s a great video, would be awesome to get in touch with them. I have considered purchasing a swift.

Thanks - appreciate the explanation.
I recently came into possession of s/n 1084 last flown in 1964. I want to restore it but probably need help
If you want to fly, you need to be healthy. Pancakes and syrup...very poor choice. =PC=
Who is the band someone?, please!
I put the music in the description.
Stunning airplanes & wonderful video, _except_ for the music! Didn't like it & would rather hear airplane & wind noise.
Glad you enjoyed the planes as much as I did! Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!
Yes. But….why risk catastrophic damage/injury/death with two gorgeous airplanes just to show (off?). Foolish. Yes. I am a pilot.
