Like I said before, thanks! I've invested in Maker + and these videos help inspire me to get carving. Sometimes, we all need a little push creatively. Also, videos on more advanced or unconventional projects would also be welcome. Your videos are a big reason I chose Maker.
Hey John, I'm sorry for the confusion at the end, but I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Perhaps this video will help you further: ua-cam.com/video/MkZQpscZ2N8/v-deo.html. Thanks!
Great project, thanks. Be sure to explain your steps, tools, and hot keys, thoroughly as you teach. For instance, when you selected the center and wanted to deselect the text, you didn’t say how you were doing that. Do you hold down shift to deselect them?
May i ask, what was the purpose for using the oramask over the material? Was it to trick the finishing pass from removing the top of the material? Asking because im finding that carveco relief toolpaths, the finishin pass is removing the top layers of stain on my reliefs and wondering how to avoid that??? Thought to put a piece of paper under the z probe before doing the finishing pass to preserve the stain on the reilef ……. Really confused about this problem because my msterisl setup starts at 0 z depth on top of material.
Hi, no it wasn't to trick the machine. The wood was painted white prior to machining, then the Oramash put on it. When machined, you can then paint the machined parts black, remove the Oramask and you have a black and white piece. The white was then painted by hand. Sounds like you may have a problem with your Z Probe? Try doing what you say, setting with a piece of paper, you can even back it off a bit if you are worried.

Thank you so much for that! Was very explanatory except at the very end where you were saving your toolpaths. I got a little bit confused!

Thanks again for the videos! They are so helpful.

Hi Mitch, thank you! The font used is called Brinson Rought -en.maisfontes.com/brinson-rought.font
Can Carvo provide the artwork for this tutorial? I like doing exactly the same thing while watching. It helps to reinforce the learning process.
