To me this game is all the good parts of doom eternal without any of the annoying management shit. I don’t play a game like this to be constantly balancing my resources like an RTS, I play it to blow up demons or demon equivalents, with some kind of comically powerful weapon, while running at speeds that make Sonic the Hedgehog look like a salted slug in the sun. Prodeus delivers that in spades.
Just passed the game and it's very solid and I'd highly recommend it to someone who likes the Doom/Quake style of fps shooters. I'm assuming the Plexus and Void cannon are unobtainable for the campaign at the moment which is kinda unfortunate but it's whatever. Very good game overall.

How can I open guns from magazine? I have enough of to buy it but I can't. Guns just locked with a "tier 3/tier4" sign. (Autoshotgun, mammoth, swarm) What should I do?
Basically - find enough ore shards in the level, buy the other stuff, and it gets unlocked over time. I admit that I tend to find only about half the stuff, and finished the game without the swarmer or mammoth pistol though the autoshotgun was wonderful once I got it. The Chaos Caster you find in game.
Lol, the store is confusing a lot of ppl, you have to buy everything from the store before each tier will be unlocked, so go and grind and buy everything from store then tier 2 weapons will become available then buy all the tier 2 weapons and then the 3rd and final tier will become available, I had to play each campaign level a few times to get enough to buy everything
You have to buy all the tier 1 weapons from the store, then tier 2 weapons will be available and so on till tier 3, but you have to buy all weapons from each tier before next tier unlocks
"Chaos Caster" ... More like "Alien Dick and Balls Jerkoff" The "AD BJ"! :P Especially the secondary fire, you can't tell that the graphic designer didn't have a set of balls getting full of goo in his or her mind haha :P

That’s how the games from the era this game is intentionally capturing were. The guns in those days were just drawn 2D sprites, so the bullets couldn’t “come out” of the guns, so they are just fired from an offset from the center of your viewport that was “close enough” to where the barrel was drawn. The Bluriness is also recreating the low resolution and low color depth textures that 3D engines at the time were capable of. Video systems / graphics had kilobytes of ram back then, not gigabytes.
@@markdaga1711 I'm pretty sure the 90s 2,5D shooters had very clear and easy to read graphics because they understood that things you have to shoot should generally stand out from the environment, as for the guns, games like Doom didn't even have bullet trails and guns were centered at the bottom of the screen so that wouldn't have been a problem anyway

I don't get it. At this level of detail, why wouldn't they just make an actual 3d 1st-person view? See the old game had charm because it was supposed to be low-rez. This one is trying to be high-rez, yet old in implementation.
The animations are neat, but the sound design almost seems to be explicitly ripped from Black Ops 3- for instance, the Arc Rail and SVG-100 share some of the same reload sounds. I wonder why that is..?
It's not exactly a rip-off. Hi-Tech weapons always revolve around the same set of sound textures because they just work, you want that gun to sound like something reminiscent of another tech gun whether it's laser, plasma, chaos, magnetically charged rails based. It's just the principle "If it ain't broken don't fix it"
The sounds likely come from the same audio repository. Not a lot of devs have the time or money to actually create audio. Rather, most will sample from these repositories while making appropriate changes. One great example is the Dark Souls “parry” sound effect. It’s in a ton of other games which I sadly can’t name off the top of my head - sorry. Anyways, audio sampling and straight up SFX-recycling is a very common practice between devs, and nothing to be concerned about.
So the first-person animation has blurry filter and slightly less framerate. Not a big fan of that but maybe the dev wants to imitate that 90s FPS graphic.
Prodeus promised good music,doom experience etc but to be honest music sucks,totally sucks.Weapons are strange and you will use only one gun of each type.Really strange game.I tried to force myself to like it but i couldn't.

The alternate fire of the Mammonth seems really slow. Usually that way of firing was a trade-off: speed over accuracy.

They are for now only available in custom maps. I've played with them on custom maps. They probably will be added in future campaigns

The Arc Rail is more plastic-y and the SVG is a ton more metallic. The whole "noisy hi tech sounding reload" thing is just kind of common.

When a indie game has better gore than Doom Eternal. I don't want to shame Eternal or anything but seriously the gore in there kinda lacks.
ARC Rail is my favorite so far. The auto shotgun looks too bland and generic.
