I love the aesthetics of it and the sounds. Unsurprisingly, Cultist Base was one of my absolute favorite levels in terms of looks. The skulls, the hi tech stuff, the whole place made of blacked metal and the reddish orange lights... It's just too awesome. PS: forgot to point out one of the things I love most from the weapon, the 3 bars on the sides remind me of the flying buttresses on Gothic churches (which makes sense, since the cultist base is gothic inspired). These little details really show how much effort was put into the game

As a Ratchet and Clank player, I love it. The beam mod of plasma gun is like Morph O Ray violent version. Instead of turning ur enemies into animals, you detonate them inside out. Lock On burst Rocket Launcher is like MegaRocket Cannon. The electric arcs of BFG 9000 is similar to Plasma Storm but the wide area explosion is like RY3NOCIRATOR. Sad that this game missed the handgun/pistol. I hope it will be added later as DLC.
At 4:43 there's flame burst from The gun barrel. At 10:19 that same gun doesn't get the flameburst anymore. Give this a like so that the devs can see it.

Of all the FPS games that lets you play as a soldier wearing a high-tech armor to fight either hordes of aliens or demons, these weapons are by far the best. Might be the least plausible/feasible but damn... the design, the sound, and the... power it gives you.

It's still the main weapon in your arsenal since it does a ton of damage and you use it for movement, but you can't use it as a crutch for DPS
@@mv2e19 It wasn't a crutch. Just because it's actually useful doesn't make it OP or a crutch. It's an upgrade as the ultimate shotgun to reward the player for unlocking it. Especially since it's double trouble perk was obtained later in the game. In eternal, it's not exactly the main weapon anymore like you may think. Many are preferring the rotating barrel on the combat shotgun to make up for what the double barrel lacks in dps. People want guns, not melee. More importantly, people will need a better reward for a perk if they want the players to seek it's upgrades. A gimmicky hook isnt enough. That reward is too much of a downgrade. Ooh, so sharp looking woopty doo! Maybe it would be nice as a first stage upgrade. I don't care what ID thinks our play style should be if it isn't as fun as the original. Yeah, the new super shotgun encourages us to mix up our arsenal because it needs other guns to make up for it's failures. Not mutch of a super shotgun anymore. Plus, it doesn't make sense when a double barrel in a game can't fire it's barrels separately.
The weapon sound design in Doom Eternal sounds so weak and anaemic with little to no bass at all. I really don't understand what idSoftware was trying to go for with these weapon sound effects.
I think they're perfect in terms of portraying how it suppose to work. it gives the right feel. tho might not be grand or big but judging by how chaotic the game is, having the gun sound being large might be too overpowering everything elese.
The Guns in Doom Eternal got a massive upgrade from their predecessors in predecessors. The Rocket Launcher got the most changes as it is now a much more destructive compared to the push over it was in the past (it's shots barely dented a Cyberdemon in the classic games as well as the Doom 3 version of Hell Knight, making it a useless weapon until Doom Eternal upgraded it's devastation complicity to deal greater damage to heavier enemies and it did). The Plasma Rifle also returned to it's roots of being a powerful weapon again like it was in the classic games (unlike it's water pistol counterpart in 2016), not to mention it's shots can make energy shields explode and it is one of my personal weapons of choice. The same can be said for the already badass Chaingun, which can now stop Hell Knights and Barons dead in their tracks. Now the Combat Shotgun received a lot of improvements from it's 2016 counterpart with his grenade launcher mod now being a 3 (later 5) shot sticky bomb and it's shitty 3 burst mod being completely replaced with the badass gatling shotgun mod that could kill a demon in seconds, therefore preventing the Super Shotgun from completely replacing it.
@@Peter-yg2fx Well adding new types of weapons is something Doom doesn't do a lot 64 had the Unmaker 3 had the Grenade, Machine Gun (not chaingun) and the Grabber in Resurrection Of Evil + the Soul Cube and the Heart in ROE 4 had the Gauss and Plasma Pistol as well as upgrades for normal weapons Do tell me if I missed something I'm more inclined to believe they prefer having a reasonable and balanced roster than adding weapons for the sake of weapon count (something Brutal Doom doesn't do well imo)

The Guns in Doom Eternal got a massive upgrade from their predecessors in predecessors. The Rocket Launcher got the most changes as it is now a much more destructive compared to the push over it was in the past (it's shots barely dented a Cyberdemon in the classic games as well as the Doom 3 version of Hell Knight, making it a useless weapon until Doom Eternal upgraded it's devastation complicity to deal greater damage to heavier enemies and it did). The Plasma Rifle also returned to it's roots of being a powerful weapon again like it was in the classic games (unlike it's water pistol counterpart in 2016), not to mention it's shots can make energy shields explode and it is one of my personal weapons of choice. The same can be said for the already badass Chaingun, which can now stop Hell Knights and Barons dead in their tracks. Now the Combat Shotgun received a lot of improvements from it's 2016 counterpart with his grenade launcher mod now being a 3 (later 5) shot sticky bomb and it's shitty 3 burst mod being completely replaced with the badass gatling shotgun mod that could kill a demon in seconds, therefore preventing the Super Shotgun from completely replacing it.
Nearly every weapon is just a reskin. Nothing new ...

64 had the Unmaker
3 had the Grenade, Machine Gun (not chaingun) and the Grabber in Resurrection Of Evil + the Soul Cube and the Heart in ROE
4 had the Gauss and Plasma Pistol as well as upgrades for normal weapons
Do tell me if I missed something
I'm more inclined to believe they prefer having a reasonable and balanced roster than adding weapons for the sake of weapon count (something Brutal Doom doesn't do well imo)

I didn't mention unmaykr from the fortress of doom, cause it's just unmaker from doom 64.
