  • Welome back to the channel! I came up the cabin today to work on getting more wood ready for syrup season. I had a great day up here by myself and I'm looking forward to syrup season in the spring. Stay tuned!

    Just my opinion, but I think one of the reasons your channel is taking off is because you seem very genuine. Everything is not always perfect and you roll with it. I feel like when I watch your videos It’s genuine. ✌🏼❤️

    I was glad to hear your comment on the danger of snowmobiles. For too many years I witnessed the damage to bodies from crashes involving off road vehicles, motorcycles, and snowmobiles.

    Good for you splitting that wood by hand instead of using the splitter. Just a word of caution, be careful lifting those heavy stumps. You don’t want to hurt your back. 🙋🏻🇨🇦

    I know what you mean I go to my off grid cabin alone most of the time and I watch your videos every time they come up I was a firefighter and a emt a started paramedic training and never finished it was too busy working second jobs firemen don’t make the money they should anyway I think you’re an awesome woman and a very smart woman and a hard worker you’re like me we never give up thanks for the video and keep up the great work!😀😎

    When you find a stump seems more resistant to the axe flip the stump and try cutting from other end. Sometimes it is easier.

    was a paramedic myself for many years. the didactic hours to remain certified and the fact the pay sucked here in NY i let my certification go. But was a volunteer and worked a commercial ambulance for 15 yrs. Saw a lot of fatal snowmobile accidents over the years.

    I enjoy your channel. I love the outdoors mostly the summer and the beach but there is something beautiful about a cold crisp winter day and a warm fire. I live in Massachusetts and there’s no outdoor camping places where I can have a fire in the woods so I have to vicariously live through you and others on UA-cam lol you’re a super woman though very talented and hard working.

    9:26 Wow, you're a tough little lady! My wife and I moved out into a rural area back in 1985 and we burned wood for heat for a lot of years. I split all our wood with a SOTZ Monster maul. We burned about a cord a month. I was young and fit back then and it was still rough splitting all that with a maul. I still have the maul and it's still in good shape, better shape than me anyway. lol

      Haha splitting wood for winter is a lot of work but I’d prefer that over other sources of heat!

      @living.different It's such a warm dry heat, it warms you to the bones. It took us a long time to get use to LP heat when we switched over.

    You should see a big efficiency jump in the boiling off of the sap to syrup with your sugar house. It’ll make the fire burn hotter and boil faster. You should use less wood per gallon/liter. Sort of like boiling water in a pot with the cover on verses off. I hope you had a Merry Christmas and have a happy New Year. Be safe

I was going to go north of Kincardine in 2020, I have family there just haven't meet them yet, to look but you know. Your description of your bathroom had me laughing so much I cried.     First time watching. I would encourage you to see about getting that splitter fixed. Good that you are able to chop wood...but when we get older, we figure out maybe we shouldn't have pushed ourselves quite so hard (females especially)

      @@living.differentget gas line antifreeze, put it in tank all winter. Water comes out when gas gets warm and then freezes when it gets cold again. Also, I would get a water separating filter for any gas you pour into it. All this helps, water is your enemy….

    I love your video. However, I have a 3 -year-old little girl named Frankie. Seems to be allergic to all bath soaps. Try to use goat milk do you have anything more natural for shampoo? 😢😢 I do not know how to use . Other platforms, I am a 49er operator, not too shabby with computers.
