I'm watching Austin Powers today reminiscing and guess I never thought the 90s would end let alone sitting here 25 years later and still feeling like it was just yesterday this movie came out!? Major SIGH. 😔
I feel you. Find happiness in the memories, and make new ones :) we were lucky to live through those times…it was golden!
Yep .My first trip to Los Angeles and I remember the billboard up around town for this film .
I was born in 1990. So I forget how old I was when this came out (I think it was ‘98? If so then I was 8 years old) but I remember seeing it in theatres and having my mind blown when I left the theatre, it was the first time travel thing I had ever seen. Now I wish I could time travel back to the 90’s lol I would do it in a second, I don’t even care about the friends and stuff I’d be leaving, it’d be a no brainer to go!
I feel this to my core. My dad was alive, my sister and nephew and I all a happy family. This and spice world for my baby sister 😂
I've been starting to watch those movies more often myself!! ........... I've ALWAYS LOVED THEM!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🥳🥳💗💗💓💞💞💞💕💖💖💜💜💜🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
There is something addictive about her voice......
I melt like butter just hearing her voice. I imagine, this is how heaven sounds like.
Don't forget the beautiful musical arrangement.
She nailed this......I'm in love, but I realize there are many people standing in that line.....
Like waiting in line to get on the Matterhorn at Disneyland
Me too, since 80's 🙂
I love this one, feeling a brazilian touch!!! Bossa Nova!
Yes, her voice is addictive.
She can cover any song and make it totally her own.
100%
Love her Voice, and those Eyes....
Back again this evening to hear her voice...
This is BY FAR The Best version of this song ever recorded. Susanna Hoffs voice captures the sexiness of this emotive song better than any other performer I've heard sing this song.
Dusty Springfields is way better
@@greyeye6371 was coming here to say this. My God Dusty could make any song beautiful.
Try listening to Diana Kralls version
@@JamesRufert-ry7nmRumer's version is also pretty good.
My favorite version of the song is vocalized by Chantal Kreviazuk along Chris Botti's trumpet. :)
A song that fits Susanna Hoffs beautiful voice 😍 another amazing song 🎵 for my play list 🙋♂️🙋♀️🤘😀
This cover is my favorite song of all time 💖🌺🌸💕❤️
Now that's what I'm talking about!!!
If you want to appreciate Susanna's interpretive skills and talent, just listen to this Bacharach and David classic.
Dusty Springfield, Dionne Warwick, Diana Krall, all great.
But Susanna mixes sweet and sexy together like no one else can.
I always wanted to hear a double CD album of her covering Bacharach
@@Lexy-O There's a recording of Susanna singing "What's It All About Austin", a kind of spoof on "Alfie", difficult song to sing with it's complex melodic line. It was supposed to appear in the third Austin Powers movie, "Goldmember". As far as I know, it didn't (we have to inquire with her husband, the director Jay Roach why it wasn't included).
Anyway, I thought Susanna's version of "The Look of Love" was great, but her version of "Alfie", or "Austin" was absolutely beautiful. It's on UA-cam.
@@ericfreeman5795 That's funny because it was included on the DVD I have.
@@kevinkronsagen2894 That's interesting. Because I've watched the movie countless times on cable and have yet to find it. Maybe the DVD has a special director's cut.
In which scene does it appear because I'd love to hear it in the movie itself?
@@ericfreeman5795 it was only on the CD.
BELLISSIMA CANZONE...........
Simply beautiful!
The best one, for me.
How did I not know she covered this song? Wow!
Wow, never realized she did this cover. Amazing.
**** MASTERPIECE THRU A MAGNIFICENT VOICE ....SUSANNA !!!!
90 s was a peaceful time.
Fun but idk about peaceful💀
This song was made for her voice. Very classy
This should have been given the hard push as an adult contemporary single.
I love her voice.
Great version!
I love her voice on this tune. Very hott!
I recently visited friends in NYC and the taxi driver on the way La Guardia was listening to 101.9 Smooth Jazz CD.. I had to ask the driver, "What's this station?" When I returned to San Francisco, this station, streamable online, became my favorite background music as I worked. Last evening, they played this Susanna Hoffs version. of Burt Bacharach's classic. It stopped me dead in my tracks. It's a bit of Claudine Longet or Francoise Hardy with some Lani Hall thrown in for good measure!!!. Perhaps I'm too old for "Manic Monday" or "Walk Like Egyptian," but I certainly hope there are more gems like this to be found .
I love this song and movie so much! The very ending of the song when the song ends sounds like the ending of Mr. Rogers Neighborhood outro theme song at every end of every episode. (Written on April 20, 2021)
You're voice is absolutly lovely ... Greetings and happy new year from Buenos Aires, Flavio.
Miss these days in the 90s 🥹
If it helps. There is only now. You are now here as you are now there in the 90’s.
...thank you so much for this, master Hoffs ...made me smile
...wish you a Happy New Year as well as all your family and people
...infinite blessings and long life
🎶✨🤗✨🎶
This song was amazing it made me happy ❤
Love this...
Wtf why are all the best songs not on spotify?
the more i learn about what susanna hoffs loves, the more i realise she is my long lost soulmate
Saludos desde Argentina. Te esperamos por nuestro país
"How dare you pass gas before me" ..."Sorry baby, I didn't know it was your turn!" 😂
saki it to me baby😂
break wind.
Going up against two classic versions, by Dusty and Dionne! Susannah is a contender. Very cool.
She wins. I didn't think anyone could do it better, but she did it.
Susanna, Dusty and Isaac are my favorite covers of this song
Excellent
oh i need this version... hold on hahaha
I sure hope Scott Bradley and his Post Modern Juke Box hears this awesome cover by you, You would be an over the top addition to the group if you did. Love you rendition of this song
Lyrics:
The look of love
Is in your eyes
A look your smile can't
Disguise
The look of love
It’s saying so much more than
Just words could ever say
And what my heart has heard
Well, it takes my breath away
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
You've got the look of love
It's on your face
The look that time can't erase
Your mine, tonight
Let this be just the start of
So many nights like this
Let's take a lovers vow
And then seal it with a kiss
I can hardly wait to hold you
Feel my arms around you
How long I have waited
Waited just to love you
Now that I have found you
Don’t ever go
Don’t ever go
I love you so
The best version
Good god.
Swoooon

🖐💖🥀
RIP Burt Bacharach 😢
Wow! You more than did justice to this song.
This is better than the original. Your voice is more evocative and plaintive.
THIS IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL! WHAT?!
Much better than the original .. love the rasp in her voice.
.
Can only IMAGINE what it would be like having Susanna Hoffs purring in my ear while cuddled with her on the couch in front of the fireplace on a cold winter's night, while this GREAT song plays in the background on the Hi-Fi !!
Groovy Baby, YEAH !! ;-)
.
I always can feel that Fabiana Udenio is in the house.
Why isn't this song on her Spotify?
Susanna Hoffs
As a version without the symphonic orchestra, this is a very good one.💜🧡
so good, love it
If Susanna is singing im all in.
RIP BURT
Good God!
Susanna’ s version is right up there with Lani Hall’s of Sergio Mendez & Brazil 66 and Dusty Springfield’s
Agree, all threes are incredible in their own way.
RIP Burt Bacharach
❤️💕
Very soft version
This song reminds me of a time back in my mi6 days, a warm sunny afternoon and a side walk cafe in Paris. The cool breeze picked up last years leaves and tumbled them about as I sat at a small outside table. The espresso was cooling as I read my daily news while waiting for my contact to arrive. I was told she would be a petite brunette, our signal would be for her to spill her coffee near the cafe door, then I would get up and walk toward her while attempting to get the attention of the waiter to complain I was wanting a coffee and not an espresso. Me and my contact would make some small talk and I would offer to buy her coffee then we would go sit together and pass our information. This was so routine so practiced, I guess that’s why I lost my cool when my contact arrived. She had just spilled the coffee and I was up moving closer, then , like a hammer to the face she turned that gorgeous face towards mine, looking at me with the most beautiful eyes to lay eyes on me! I never seen such beauty, such grace. I had this feeling in my gut like this was the beginning or the end of something. Like I need to proceed slowly and not let my heart take command. As I got near to her I offered her a new coffee and introduced myself. She flashed a smile that would melt the hearts of most men and said, Bonjour, I am Susanna, Yes! Thank you, coffee please. As we walked back to my table My mind is racing. Brunettes are my weakness, god I hope she not a double agent............or worst KGB.
nothing wrong with KGB comrade
Nothing wrong at all , doing their job as was Mi6,
Alotta Fagina... 😎 still haven't forgotten that village bicycle
😂
Dusty's version is still the best but this is an excellent version too. Excellent job, captures the mood quite well
Why isn't this on deezer >﹏<
💞💟❤️💘
Definitely the number one contender to Dusty Springfield, however, when you hear it by Dusty, you're going right back to Ursula Andress and Peter Sellers in the comedy Bond film version of Casino Royale. Brava either way as your voice is so sexy, sultry and satin. This song was also used in Catch Me If You Can in the scene where DiCaprio meets up with Jennifer Garner who interestingly enough, looks very much like Ursula Andress in the scene, sporting the same hairstyle and has similar facial features and forehead as well.
Susanna hoffs has been married to the director of this film many years now
The girl can sing .. a very sultry voice
Much better, by far, than Dusty Springfield's version. It's believable. You don't get the sense that she's saying, "You know you feel the same way, because I'm such hot stuff, and you'd be in an idiot to pass up the privilege of being with me".
Hi my new friend
Dusty Springfield,
More like the look of Lust
This version beats the original one out of the park.
i wish it was showing her face
