The draw length deal made me ultimately decide to get rid of my UV. It brought my knuckles behind my ear. Thanks for the awesome video!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video.
You will be happy with the release. It's in my top 5 nicest releases.
Looks like it is a very awesome release. Very pricey UV though. The Stan looks awesome too.
The UV and Stan are both pretty expensive but I agree, they are both great releases and worth the money.
Great info, brother..
Thanks, John.
Sunrise is the shop I go to. Super good to know, I can go tests these out but I'm over my wrist release
Ever since changing to a handheld, I don't care for index releases.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors Sweet. It was my first real season with a compound last year. I have a condition that makes my hands really cold so it was tough. I could keep my gloves on but of the wrist contact point. Do you have an issue with gloves and the handheld? Uv or stan?
@awatkeys Typically I don't shoot with gloves on. I just leave my release hooked on the D-loop and keep my hands in my pockets with hand warmers.
@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I usually do the same but I have a light glove layer on or I can use my hands when I pull them out of the muff hahaha
If it's a thin glove you shouldn't have any issues
Good information! What type of rubber did you use for the finger grip? And how did you adhere it?
Thank you!
That's the Bowar Archery grip tape. Just clean the release with an alcohol wipe a stick it on. You will have to replace it once or twice a year, but well worth it.
I know I need a Lg in the uv but I’m also looking at the wise choices how does it compare in size with the uv button
It's pretty close but you'll definitely have more room with the wise choice.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoorsthat’s an interesting perspective. I actually went and shot the UV button today, and went back to back with a Carter too simple and I thought the feel was similar, minus the length of the neck an anchor point being a little further back.
@nathanwade8143 The UV med was definitely a better fit, but the neck is too long for me.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors that’s interesting. I thought the large felt better. Just goes to show everyone’s a little different and there isn’t a perfect release for everyone lol:
True. That's why I always recommend going to a local bow shop to test them out vs. ordering them.
I got rid of the first gen hinge because of the length i could not get it set right and losing a 1/2 inch in draw length changed my string angle to much.I did like it.
I was in the same boat with the Hinge 2 and the UV Button. Both are nice releases but I didn't want to give up any draw length.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors after spending a lot of money and trading with people I finally found the perfect hinge release and it was the Scott longhorn pro micro it's amazing and it's brass.
I ended my search with the Tru Fire HBC in Brass. However im always looking to test and try in hinges. Is the neck on the Longhorn short?
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors yes it's short. It's perfect for the string angle I want.
I’ll have to check one out. Thank you!
There’s a ton of aftermarket knobs available for these
Do you know if the UV contour knob would fit on the ONNEX?
It won't because on the Onnex you slide the knob over the post and there is a set screw on the side that locks it down.
How does the Wise choice feel with the uv thumb barrel? Looks like like an easy upgrade.
It was a little bulky for the WC.
What size is the stan? and how does it compare to the UV in size?
Stan was a Large and the UV was a Med. They fit very similar but the UV was a better fit for sure.
I tried the Onnex in a Med and it was too small for me.
The UV button has 2 adjustments for the thumb button position
Correct. You can rotate the button 360 degrees and also change the pitch and length or shorten the position.
Would you pick the wise choice or the onnex?
Up until Stan released the Onnex Click, I would say the wise choice all day, but without trying the onnex click, I can't say for sure.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors thank you! Currently shooting a Carter just cuz + but want to get a backup. I might go with the wise choice since it’s so similar to the just cuz +
100% you can't go wrong with the Wise Choice. It's still my go-to Thumb Button.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors thank you!
You're welcome!
There is definitely more adjustment in the thumb button on the UV release. You can move the whole post
Yes, you can lengthen it and change the pitch, but it doesn't have more adjustability when compared to the Stan Onnex.
Stan hasn’t made big enough changes for me to upgrade from sx3 and heavy metal
I have never shot one but I've heard great things about the SX3.
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors I have the standard sx3 for hunting and the sx3 heavy metal for target both are great only issue I have with Stan releases is sometimes while drawing a bow or aiming they’ll release on they’re own
That's not good!
@@MichiganAmBushOutdoors no it’s not and I don’t know why they do that I’ve called stan and they were no help
That's surprising they didn't fix the issue.
