Thank you!! This is ridiculous, this card should come with the car with the amount anyone spends on 50-100k cars!!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you so much! I just ordered one through your link. 🤞🏻I hope you continue posting videos about the 2023 Escalade. I am certain there are so many features I am not aware of.
Saved me so much time and effort! Thanks so much. The Escalade Manual is garbage on this feature.
Thank you!! I spent too much time with sales guy and Cadillac support. Just ordered card through the link!
Thanks for sharing and saving me the headache!
Doing the lords work 😂 thank you sir my Cadillac dealer wanted 600$ to order me a proper as card and have them format it.
By way my dealership still
Swears this feature doesn’t work because the parts are on constraint lol I bought your card and formatted it tonight and it worked ! I have spent hours on phone with Cadillac and dealership. You rock!
Glad I was of help
@utku5721 You're a genius!! Thank you for this vid and solution!! I went through the same thing w/GM and Caddi after I first purchased my '23 Escalade Sport Platinum. I was also pretty much told to kick rocks. WTH?!?! Then on some of the Forums, I saw the formatting suggestion. However, that ish NEVER worked...because I was using a V30 card. Again, WTH! It has always been on my mind, so I've continued to look for the answer. I'm glad I didn't give up! How did YOU finally figure it out about needing a V10 card???? Again, thanks for doing this vid!!! ✌
Thanks you saved my a lot of trouble
Thanks!!!
Thank you
Is there another video with the CL-10 SD Card operational? I formatted a class 10 32 gig SD card and it still not reading it saying no card available or detected!
Just up dated the exfat format to fat32 format and the SD card now works and the app is operational. Thanks for all the info.
The rant at the end was 🔥🫡
Ordered on affiliate :) thank you
Appreciate you. It’s like 4% commission which is like a couple of cents but I make videos as a hobby and not for the $ but ultimately help people. I was sooooooooooooo fustrated with the whole thing I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. Like a class 10!?!? Are you kidding me!?!?!?!?!? But it is what it is. Merry Christmas
Tried this using 32GB (class 10) SD card formatted exFat and it did not work. Formatted the card in Fat32 and it worked right away. Hope this alternative solution helps other frustrated users.
Interesting I guess 1 works for the other. Most important key aside from the format is the class 10
I am having same problems so I’ll try to format to dat32 today and see because exfat format did not work for mine

Will this work for my 2022 Cadillac XT6?
@chakitajefferson8857 worth a try…..
i have a 2020 xt5 sport. Can I do this? I have sd card in the center console. thanks!
Thank you for the video. I am confused. My Cadillac dealer just sent me a PDF from Cadillac stating that the card that is required must have a video class of V30 OR GREATER. Am I crazy, or is that opposite of what you just said?
I fixed mine by reading the owner's manual and buying the right chip from Amazon.
Is it only option available recording while driving? There is no option to record motion around the car after engine is off?
I just put in 128 v30 sd card . You have to put it in a computer format on fat32 works well
I went online and hundreds of people said to get a class 10 sd card which is the same one you show. Ordered 2 for $80 and you’re telling me it won’t work? Fucking hell
Update: formatted the same card in the video to fat32 and it worked.
Thank you..
Your welcome, you thanking me made my day! Because now I know I helped someone out
I have a 128 gb card just like the one you showed. Formatted it to FAT32. Works fine.
In other words, can a 128g or 32g card be used after formatting? Thanks
@@aaronsun8 Yes, a 128GB card works on the Escalade as long as it is formatted in FAT32. In fact, I am using a 128GB UHS-II V60 (a little faster than the V30) and it is working correctly. I just finally got this working for me today. I had formatted this card last week using several tools like the ones in the video link above. The Escalade recognized the card but the card never worked. The reason for this is that my vehicle needed a software update....which I got done today at the Cadillac dealership and now it is working flawlessly.
So before the software update, when I inserted the SD card and went to the video recorder menu, there would be no live video of the cameras...just a grey/ white box for each square. In case you experience the same behavior then as long as the car recognizes the SD card then you probably just need a software update. One last thing to mention, the highest size that the car would recognize (at least for me) is 128GB. I tried using a 512GB and even a 256GB and the car would give an error saying no SD card inserted to it was not recognizing it. If anyone here has gotten a higher size to work then please comment.
@@aaronsun8 Hello sir, The 128 gb card is working fine, so far.
@@aaronsun8 Yes, in deed.
How is everyone formatting to Fat32?
The card you recommended (v10) didn't work with exfat on my 2024 Escalade. Tried exfat and fat32 and neither worked
This helps a lot!
What about the back up camera grid lines? Mine are missing? Are yours?
No. That’s odd…..
@@masterchief9005 ua-cam.com/users/shortsr7LMF4VG-aw?feature=share
needs a software update. Had a customer with same problem.
@@user-zg1mk6ky8o did you fix it?
I just got my backup grid line issue fixed at Cadillac dealer
Do you need to manually erase your videos? My 128G card gives me about a month of history but then is full. I would think it would overwrite the oldest but mine does not seem to.
Mines too! Back up grid missings
Parking assist is turned off. Lucky you. I have to turn mines off every time I turn off the car….
Placed a order hope it works! Do you still need to change the format or is it ready to go?
Gotta change the format
One person commented to format to fat32 🤷♂️ some say you gotta use 64GB 🤷♂️ all I know is it worked for me
Yes you have change format and I just ordered this card and did it tonight 100% worked!
Thanks for the replies I have all Mac computers so I have to order USB-C to SD Card Reader smh
I just got new Apple laptop and first one 8 have owned that has SD reader in it
isn't that sanddisk SD card you just took out of the Escalade a Class 10? it says that on the card.. honestly i called the GM dealer and they recommended that same san disk 64GB card.. i put it in the Caddy and no luck, with the same error. I'm now going to try your recommendation and will report back. just made the amazon order! BTW same thing on my end.. the dealership had no clue..
That’s a Sandisk top of the line 256GB v30 a3 SD card that DOES NOT work with the Cadillac
So…… I clicked the link, ordered the SD card, formatted it, inserted into back panel. It still isn’t bringing up video on the dash? Will you update your video to include what to do after the SD card is inserted?
Try different formats…… some say one format works when others don’t. As long as it’s class 10 you’re good.
23' CT5-V here; had the same issue. It comes down to the formatting of the SD card. GM recommends ExFAT, which the SanDisk cards come formatted in from factory. However, for whatever reason, the Video Recorder system will not recognize it properly. I had a SanDisk 128GB v30/10 card as well, didn't work. The key is the reformat the card into FAT only. You can't do this in Windows w/o an application like Rufus (free) or via Powershell because anything over 32GB will default to either exFAT or NTFS. Once I reformatted the 128GB card to FAT, my CT5-V recognized it and it's been working ever since. Best of luck.
You don't have to buy a Class 10 SD Card. In fact, Cadillac recommends at least V30 and 64GB or greater formatted at Fat32, not exFat. To fix the problem with the New SD Card and Cadillac recognizing it, all you have to do is 1. Download the Free Tool FAT32 Format (See Link and Tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/IceA1OxEFa4/v-deo.html). The problem is that newer versions of Windows 10/11 only allow for exFat or NTFS Formatting of drives 32GB and larger. I followed the directions of the Tutorial referenced in my post, and I was able to format my SanDISK Extreme PRO 128GB V30 SD Card to FAT32. I inserted it in the SD Slot for the Video Recorder on vehicle and it was immediately recognized. Works like a charm.
Fat32 worked for me also. exFat was not recognized by my Escalade. Thanks for this!
Does the 2021 Escalade have this feature?
Idk
I feel like there should’ve been a follow up video.
Anyone else here missing the Record App on their vehicle? I have a 23 Sport should be available as a standard feature but the icon is not present or visible. Dealership or Cadillac have been a waste of time with no resolution.
What quality it records? 4K or HD?
Low quality but good enough 720P or maybe 1080P
It's poor quality, so poor that it can't be enhanced by (professional) forensic video software. Sure you will see vehicles all around you but forget about reading a license plate number. At best you may be able to determine the manufacture.
Down load a video to your PC and see (not see) the image quality.
@timhigdon4693 I believe your talking about when you watch it from you vehicles infotainment system. If you unplug the SD card and put it into a computer much better quality
@@utkureviews You believe wrong, read the last line of my reply again! Now try to identify a vehicles license plate in front or in back of your vehicle.
I bought the same from Amazon formatted, but still not working.
Same here I did everything and still does not work
Try fat32
you need to use 32GB sd card, and you need to change the format to FAT32.
Exfat
Please how I change the format to FAT32
Just search on UA-cam how to format an SD card to FAT32
According to Cadillac (I have a PDF) the card must be at least 64GB. This is crazy!
This card work or not ?
A class 10 SD card works not the one seen in the video. I put a link in the description below
I did this and bought it from the same link and it still didnt work
Read the comments. Exfat might not work but fat might work, lmk what worked hope all works out
I did everything correctly and it says card errror still i formatted and eveything and still no luck
Which Cadillac escalade you have
@@tlbmahand8678 2023 escalade sport platinum
2nd person 🧐 try fat32
@@utkureviews I did but it still said the same thing
I think it’s a useless feature that will some day be worth it but it being a new feature and gm not wanting to touch it now is probably full of bugs to be ironed out by GM I tried the 32 gig class 10 and got error so I’m now trying to format it to the fat32 format and check if it works I definitely will let you know. Right now they selling false hopes some work and some don’t smh
Just a heads-up to all, while no doubt this solution works for the Escalade, unfortunately it does NOT fix the same issue that exists in the 2024 CT5-V Blackwing - here too the GM manual and helpdesk are useless as the information provided by all simply DOESN"T WORK! To date, despite trying over 5 different types of cards by size, format and manufacturer (including the very first attempt using the exact type of card, size, and format as specified in the manual) nothing has worked yet.
ex fat did not work. fat works
