Resident Evil games are both long and short, but do you know which Resident Evil games on average are the shortest? Longest? We are ranking EVERY Resident Evil game based on their average completion times in this video... well every mainline and spinoff Resident Evil that is. RE6 was the most ambitious project they made. The story went WORLDWIDE,, bigger than ever. They (at least) DARE to do something DIFFERENT.
Re6 was still a blast to play online with a buddy.
I’m probably that guy, but I love RE6. I thought it was fine having that many campaigns in the game where each one would interact with another. I also appreciated the power ups which lead to various replays just so that I can get unlimited ammo for each weapon.
With the way the game was structured, I actually found it easier to unlock unlimited ammo on a lot of the guns. For some reason I can't really stomach how to unlock unli ammo in the other games, but I liked how they did it in 6.
If only enemies were more satisfying to kill. There wasn't any responsiveness when shooting them. I still don't get why Capcom didn't emphasize the Melee combat? It seems they wanted you to be more of a martial artist than a gunslinger.

It was actually really fun to play. I played it in order of Leon, Jake, Chris and then Ada and I really like how all the pieces connected in the end. Especially when I play as Ada. Mind blown
I remember I got resident evil 3 remake and beat it so quick that a month later I launched the game because I couldn’t remember I beat it, got confused and checked my achievements then figured it out…
Resident evil 1 remake got stuck for a long time plus forgot to pause so had just over 99 hours.
The original Resident Evil 2 would take 4 to 6 hours if you wanted to find everything but I used to speed run that game, my shortest play through was 40 minutes, after you've beaten it a couple of times and you know your way around it almost becomes a little too easy

To me the shortest RE game is Dead Aim and the longest to me always felt like Code Veronica.
In fact, I really liked RE6. I remember when I was young, I've spent all my days playing that games with my cousins. We've repeated it 5 times in 4 years
It was actually my first Resident Evil, it was good enough to get me hooked on the series.

6 is one of my favorite RE games... Never understood all the hate towards it.
@@Ben.SK2346 It was hated for being too different from the rest of the series. Too much action, and not even a horror game if you ask people. But I appreciate it for what it is. Best co-op game, with probably the best gunplay of them all. Best powertrip fantasy if you were like young-me and wanted to suplex zombies just for the fun of it lol. One of the best bonding moments with my brother when we played this on split screen.

Code veronica took me about 20 years to finish. I wasnt prepped well for the Tyrant, and started over. I got to the Chris part, and started over. Went to college, got a job, and beat it.

@@funmylife9248 I loved Code Veronica. It was the sole reason I did chores when the Dreamcast was coming out. I think a remake would really benefit this game to change some of the design choices of the original.

Re6 is a very good game. I think they succeeded in everything they were trying for, and made a game for a variety of audiences. It didn't deserve the hate it got.
I’m 21 hours into resident evil 4, and still got a long way, what am I doing wrong
For some reason RE4 og felt longer than the remake because I can play through the campaign of RE4 remake multiple times in a row but with the og I felt like I could only play so much of it at one time before taking a break.
I used to play OG RE4 all the time and I didn’t realize actually how much of a slog some sections of the game are until coming back to it just recently. RE4R has a lot that you can just run through and has better pacing, so it can be shorter or longer than the OG depending on how you play it
RE6 was 30 Hours for me. But the "Michael Bayhem" of the game made it feel longer and very exhausting.
I always thought RE5 was 20 hours like 4.
Some UA-camr claimed every RE is short but based it on Speedrun Stats.
Yeah, I'm sure most games, if based on speedrunning stats, would be considered too short 🤣

A small quibble, if I may. If RE 6's four campaigns are utilized to obtain the average total play time, shouldn't the same be done with RE 2 1998 with one A and B scenario? Since they're essentially telling two halves of one story, the total play time to experience one full story set would be about 12 hours, then.

Leon A takes what ... 1hr 25mins and Clair B about 1hr 40mins. I assumed that 6 hours was for all 4 scenarios 😂😂
@@danielsilva-ds2u Leon A&B Clair A&B that's 4 by my count (then there's Hunk and Tofu so an arguement can be made for 6 scenarios but hey we won't get fussy today) and on first play through fair enough, like I said I assumed it was all 4, which with experience can be done well within 6 hours, so you can see why I would assume such.
RE 7 and 8 are easily the best for me. though i would take about an hour off of each game.
I also really liked 2 and 3 remake, but would again take about an hour off of each one.

RE6 is... Dumb but fun, like it's objectively bad, but it's entertaining to play, especially online.
I put in so many hours in CVX I got lost like 12x lmao and I had no ammo my first run. I had no restarts no backsteating so yeah I had a really really bad time with it my first go. But my second go was one of the best times ever in RE. I think I spent at least 21 hours in it on my first go. I also got lost a lot in RE1 remake my first go I think it took me 20 hours to beat it. RE4 OG took me a long time as well. I spent the most time in RE4make because I wanted to max out a lot of guns in my first run laughs
Honestly, RE Remake should be considered longer due to its replay-ability. You have Invisible Enemy Mode, One Dangerous Zombie Mode, and Real Survivor Mode which changes the experience each time. Plus not to mention 8 different endings

It's mine too. First one I beat as a kid. I didn't even buy the remake. It was so half-ass done. Nemesis coming through Jill's wall in her house.was just lazy.that Pissed me off.
6 campaigns would be fine, if they wasn't just LAZY with the exact same boss fights that you have to beat twice.... It was just annoying to find the 2 giants in russia or I don't remember where it was in jake campaign RIGHT AFTER the chris campaign...

The Original or RE2 would probably be the shortest if none of the doors were locked, not to mention the puzzles and backtracking. Those 2 only have the illusion of being way longer than they are.

I am still on Resident evil 1 ( Classic ) and i played 6 hours and i am still in the House and i Dont know how to get to the Helicopter part
I’ve beat RE5 on 2 difficulties and playing thru on professional rn, with all the mercenaries I’ve played, desperate escape and lost in nightmares. I’ve only got 34 hours on it rn, that game shouldn’t take 12 hours unless you are trying to get all the treasure and BSAA emblems. You even unlock infinite rocket launcher ammo by beating it in under 5 hours.
All of these games that I’ve beaten, I beat in a quicker time than he’s saying. I haven’t played them all though.

I think my first RE4 Remake was was about 16 hours or so.
Most of OG RE from PS1 could only took over 2 hours and a half for me. Full completion
Personally think RE 8 could be longer, same for dlc because I played that in 4
Lets see he is missing RE survivor, RE Dead Aim, RE Gaiden, RE Deadly Silence, and Outbreak files 1&2..... which all had campaigns.

I thought you were going by average play time of each campaign in each RE game as in not combining them. Like RE2 you say each one is about 6 hours or in RE1 remake 11 hours for each character yet in RE6 you go with total time for each campaign. If you did that for RE1 remake, it would be about a full days worth. RE6 for just 1 campaign is no where near 20+ hours.
hold up. are we talking hardest difficulty. because village did NOT take me 9.5 hours to compltete. it took me 4 hours on hardcore. actually. i dont know if the time resetting deaths matter. because the timer resets to where the last save was when you die.
i was hoping for Resident Evil Outbreak :(
Not counting the crappy B scenario, re2r was shorter for me than re3r. 3remake is actually about the same length if it weren’t for the copy and pasted B scenario
I have a Resident Evil idea I would like to pitch to Capcom...
You know how the prototype version of Resident Evil 2 that being 1.5 has received a massive fanbase amongst Resident Evil fans over the years? And many gamers have done modifications to that game despite the fact it was never actually released except for in Japan with the demo version?
Of course the game did get leaked to the public in 2013 and gamers, Resident Evil fans and modders have going out of their way to recreating the game by working and fixing some of the bugs and patches and whatnot is still ongoing, with various patches being released...
Anyhow, obviously the Elza Walker character got reworked on and transitioned into Claire Redfield but what if Capcom could capitalize on the Elza Walker characters since she has such a cult following and actually make her part of the franchise and keep her original story.
If you're familiar with 1.5 which I'm sure you are is that Elza Walker who's already a resident of raccoon City arrives to discover that raccoon City in its entirety is now the sight of a zombie apocalypse and you know how she crashed into the RPD police station?
Well keep that original idea but have it to where the police station that she crashes into what was going to be a newly developed police station for the RPD. And the zombies that she encounters in what is supposed to be newly developed police station are police officers, security guards, and construction workers turned into zombies due to the T-virus outbreak. And... While she's there she also discovers that at that newly developed police station that that's where Billy Cohen from Resident Evil 0 was being held prisoner.
Say he eventually got apprehended by the RPD and Chief Irons ordered him to be held prisoner at the new police station and that would explain why it's heavily guarded with police and security.
Not only that, but Rebecca Chambers herself disappeared after the events of Resident Evil 0 & 1. So perhaps to play it safe you could say Chief Irons could have issued an arrest warrant for Rebecca Chambers because she knew too much. Like the other stars members. So she too is being held prisoner at the newly developed police station along with Billy Cohen. Because nobody knows what happened to either one of them during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 and 4 and Code Veronica for that matter.
And a reference that they can put into this game could be the fact that the police station itself is not 100% completed. Much like the prototype version of Resident Evil 2 that being 1.5
Yes, it's already been announced that Capcom is working on a ReRe remake for the 30th anniversary of the original resident evil.. like 20 years ago in 2016 they released an HD version of zero and the 2002 remake which was exclusive to the GameCube. Only this time it's going to have enhanced graphics with the re game engine that being third person over the shoulder. And yes code Veronica is definitely a must that deserves a remake Capcom keeps going back and forth with whether or not if they're going to remake that one or not because they haven't made up their mind. Hell maybe they can even bring back that scrapped Man spider b o w that you fight in the underground lab in 1.5
Og resi evil 2…..on ps 1 ,for pros u can get hunk a tofu characters(hunk a umbrella merc)… a fairy well known unlocked character…and tofu who is a half infected t virus character(who is extremely hard to get…..I think for one you just had to complete it on medium difficulty,and the other you had to complete the game without dying on normal….if I rmbr correctly
These rankings are weird to me because none of them reflect my real time on the respective games. For instance re2r took me 8 hours on my first playthrough which was similar to REmake which took me 9ish hours but according to this list REmake should be almost twice as long as re2r
IMO I think RE Survivor was the shortest about 2-3 hours gameplay was the same no matter what course of the game you take?
It's Resident Evil HD Remaster, not a remake. Recent rumors point to an actual remake of the first Resident Evil game, here's to hoping we'll get a confirmation announcement in August.

@@-locke-6051 it literally says Resident Evil HD Remaster on the steam page and everywhere else, it uses the same locked camera formula, kept the very essence of the original, and only upgraded the graphics. As I've said, rumors are floating around that an actual remake of Resident Evil may be in the works, even Code Veronica. I'm holding out hope for August or on TGS for the announcement, pretty sure we're getting an announcement for RE9 and an REmake.
@castlemein5765 Yeah, it says HD Remaster on Steam because it is a remaster... OF A REMAKE. Resident Evil Remake improved on visuals (well, they did make totally new backgrounds and character models because that's what you do when remaking a game) versus the original, yeah, but saying that it was the only thing that was different, is bullshit. The remake added new areas, weapons, puzzles, story, lore, enemies and much more. It's a perfect video game remake. It added new stuff without removing anything important and kept the soul of the source material. Something that most remakes do not understand.
I can't believe so many people still don't understand that original Resident Evil and Resident Evil Remake are two totally different products.
Blud didn’t even know the original release of the remake but still yaps about how wrong he is. 😅 People are already correcting you, just accept and learn the correct things. If we use the logic you are presenting, Steam also just list the remakes of 2-4 without the word remake. Are they also not remakes? Is the Dead Space Remake also not a remake? It also retains most of the essence and mechanics of the original game. I’m not pedantic when it comes to differentiating things between remake, remaster, rerelease, and port since there are cases where lines are blurred when it comes to rigid evidence and definition. But if we use your logic, the only remade games in all of history are some Dragon Quest games and Final Fantasy VII since they’re the only once that actually put the word remake on their titles. Plus, you can just look this thing up on the internet and see how wrong you are.
