Yes there are no subtitles. Yes I watched this movie before the first video even released on UA-cam so I didn't see your comments telling me I needed them on. No I am not stupid and don't know how to use subtitles I just assumed, like the first, that the subtitles for any foreign language section would be embedded into the film itself. It is not my job to keep turning on and off subtitles on an English language movie. Hope that answers all your questions :)

    • @RocZi
      @RocZi Місяць тому +7

just a recommendation : its a good idea to use subtitles for all movies, even english. That way, you don't give chance to missing words due to accent, different pronunciations, spellings, names, or when you gets distracted and missed seeing or hearing lines.
Movies nowadays give users the option to turn on subtitles, and sometimes more than 1 version of subtitles. eg. foreign only, foreign + english. They achieve this feature by splitting movie files and subtitle files. so you may not see them together all the time. eg. if the players support, and if the subtitles are present, and if the subtitles are turned on by default, else the user has to turn it on.
Hardcoded subtitles are a thing of the past when technology is not that advanced, because now, its better quality and more flexible to split the movie and subtitle files for streaming and giving user options.
I remember being in cinema watching english movies without any subtitles, and couldn't hear properly on some lines or some of the words, but there's no way to rewind or turn on subtitles. you have the ability to prevent this from happening, especially the foreign parts of the movie with no subtitles.

I can understand not turning on subtitles for 15 seconds of foreign language dialog. Anything longer than that and I would automatically be reaching to toggle on the subtitles.

I thought they had subtitles for Pai Mei when I watched this back in the day. It's weird how streaming seems to take them off now unless you have them on for everything. I don't like it. It is nice when reactors have them on, though, because it makes it easier to see what they're saying while listening to the reactor.

Pai Mei is played by Martial Arts Legend Gordon Liu. He also played the leader of the Crazy 88's, Johnny Mo (Bald Head and Kato Mask) in Part 1. Another Actor who played 2 roles was Michael Parks who played the Texas Ranger with all the sunglasses in his Patrol Car in Part 1 and the Pimp Estaban in Part 2.

Don’t know if many come to this conclusion, but I believe Budd is the most morally sound and least wicked of all the Deadly Vipers. He is remorseful and self penitent not only because of his part in what they did to Beatrix, but for previous acts he committed under Bill’s employ.
The fact that he accepts humiliation from coworkers without being the least bit retaliatory gives the impression that he truly despises himself and is struggling with guilt. It informs his falling out with his brother Bill, as well as his decision not to kill Beatrix, but put her through a trial by live burial instead, which I suspect he believed there was a possibility she would pass.
Remember, he believes they all deserve to die for the wicked lives they have all lead up to this point, including Beatrix, but he also felt her vengeance was justified. By putting her through the trial, he was basically rolling the dice, so to speak, and would have accepted either outcome - his death or hers. Fascinating character.

"And I rampaged. And I got bloody satisfaction. I've killed a hell of a lot of people to get to this point, but I have only one more. The last one. The one I'm driving to right now. The only one left. And when I arrive at my destination, I am gonna KILL BILL."
Fun Fact: Like his character Bill, David Carradine was also a fan of collecting comic books.
What Script Fact: The club owner hated Budd's hat, because writer and director Quentin Tarantino didn't like it when Michael Madsen appeared on the set wearing it. He tried to talk Michael out of it, but that didn't help. So Quentin got back with a little change in the script the next day, and Michael Madsen had to follow it.
Lost In Translation Fact: Quentin Tarantino originally intended to only have Pai Mei's (Chia-Hui Liu) lips speaking Cantonese, while his voice would be in English, imitating a bad dub job. Tarantino was going to provide the voice himself. In the end, Tarantino abandoned this idea, and Chia-Hui Liu speaks in his own voice.
Historical Fact: Pai Mei (Chia-Hui Liu) is based on Pak Mei, the originator of the "White Eyebrow" kung fu technique. According to legend, Pak Mei was one of the few Masters left following the decimation of the Buddhist temples. He later sold out other Masters to save his team and himself during an attack that they had mounted that subsequently went wrong. For this reason, Pak Mei Kung Fu has always been known as the "forbidden technique" and Pak Mei has been a villainous figure in Chinese folklore and film, for hundreds of years.

"Shogun Assassin" is a real movie, actually an entire series ("Lone Wolf and Cub", "Baby Cart", etc.). I think you'd like it.
I was surprised to see that the Mexican guy that Beatrix talks to when trying to find Bill is the same guy who played the sheriff with all the sunglasses in Vol.1. (Michael Parks)
There was also a very final post-credit sequence which I bet a lot of people don't stick around for. (It's just an outtake, but still worth seeing.)

I don't think Bill's "father figures" were very pleased with how their "son" turned out! Esteban Vihaio betrayed Bill's whereabouts to "bleep", and Hattori Hanzo made a sword for her to kill him with. When Bill brought "bleep" to Pai Mei to "enroll" her, Pai Mei worked Bill over pretty good. (Compare the cuts and bruises on Bill's face; Pai Mei didn't have a mark on him when "bleep" met him moments later.)

Loved this one better than Vol 1. It's more story and character driven. I honestly don't believe Bill would've bought Elle's story about The Bride putting the Mamba in Budd's trailer. Not her style. The Bride is a warrior who faces her enemies head-on. Bill would know that has her boss and her lover. Bill's stance on Superman is inaccurate, too. Clark Kent isn't Superman's critique of the human race. He represents Superman's desire to be a part of it.

Which one I like better depends on the mood I'm in at the time, lol. However, Darryl Hannah's chilling "black mamba" speech to the dying Bud was certainly some of Tarantino's best writing.
