Agreed. Police incompetence. If a cop doesn't follow procedure or provides falls testimony which is then proven false their arguments or evidence will get thrown out. It's sorta like the OJ Simpson case. OJ or his temper tantrum oldest son most likely committed the murder, but because of the ill discipline and incompetence of the La police...OJ was found not guilty. You'd think cops would have learned this by now.

Justice can be served if more cameras and better cameras are added to every dark corner in the city. A standard process after each incident should have been the same as any witness process with citizens at a crime scene or incident. TAKE all those cops from the scene individually, separate cars, no cell phone access and have reports written within controlled and separate rooms to prevent conversation or collusion. Unfortunately, the rules for citizens are strict while the police staff process is very lax, open for sharing, talking and collaboration. This results is great expense, delays over time, and a misdirection of Justice to find the truth.

A friend of mine back in the late 90s had similar happen to him here in BC, Canada. He was in a parking lot during a rainy evening on his CB radio with his other friend when a bunch of guys with guns pointing at him started quickly advancing to his car. One jumped on his bonnet and smashed his window with his fist or perhaps an object to accomplish that. He sped off and the guy fell off (just like in the movies), then he went to the police station to report it. Low and behold, here come the culprits. My friend is like "That's the guys" and they're pointing back at him saying "That's him" and asking why he took off. He said he didn't know they were cops since they were wearing plain clothes, and they said they identified themselves, while he said he was absolutely certain that they didn't. My friend just dropped the matter since it was all of their word against his and he felt he had zero chance to win a lawsuit. He of course had to pay for his own windshield too. This is why body cameras matter in today's world. Never trust the police enough to think they're flawless and incorrupt since they're far from it.
