So paint is a BIG BIG problem but people can still steal what they want from whatever store they want and get away with it….. there’s a lot more wrong with LA and it’s not paint
Kevin DeLeon said in front of a camera that the LAPD is not the developer's private security force, and yet, here we are, even including the SWAT team.
Nothing says ghetto like graffiti. When thy want to know why businesses leave and their property values don't go up...they can look to themselves for allowing this to happen...and calling it art.
there are many people I've lived around for over 10 years now, and allot of them want to leave or are in the process of packing up and going somewhere else. The crime at any given spot in LA is stupid high...and as I said the cops don't care unless there's blood involved. Forget all the dumb wanna be street racers with their cookie cutter cars and loud cars taking over every part of the street and putting everyone else's lives at risk...the cops don't give a damn about that and you never see them on the streets anymore. LA is going down the drain and it's been that way for a while....this building is a small example how nobody really cares about protecting their community. 10-20 years ago things were very very different...sometimes for the better or for the worst. It's just all about building more apartments and creating more congestion...I suggest everyone stay far away from this place and never move here!
This guy over here flying drones talking mad crap about our city without realizing mom and daddys money saved him from the struggles that people actually live it. Stay in your self made million dollar penthouse
That building is a small example of a much bigger issue than just paint and the petty issues you addressed.... corrupt politics is the real problem at hand. Selling out our country to nations like China is all bad
Really shows how specific groups are closer to animals - you know - like how animals have to mark and pee on everything? Certain groups are closer to that level of being.
The parents of these criminals are also charged with felony vandalism . Teach your spawn to Obey the Law and get a job. They will each have to pay $100,000. to the owner of the building. and 25,000 to the court.
The owner bailed on the real estate scam. Now the city which is broke and over ran with drug addicted homeless and mental patients. Is stuck securing it. The council man who approved this fraud building just got sent to federal prison. Whole city is corrupt open air drug market . DA lets all the repeat offenders out. No cops busting the street drug dealers
Pay with what 😂😂😂 . We are in a silent great depression . Our money is worthless . Oil for dollars is over 33 trillion in debt while they give more to the Kazarian homeland defense of Ukraine and Isreal. Not loans , but give 100s of billions. While our empire crumbles
The tagger is right about the duelling legal opinions at the end of the clip. With Prop 47 raising the monetary limits, and knowledge of applicable laws, taggers have little to fear. The LAPD's response falls apart when you delve into the details. To prove vandalism, they have to proof that the person they arrested did the spraying. If not, it's simply trespassing. Either way, both are non-violent crimes. Since it is private property, the owner would have to press charges. If the hapless minion in the DA's office tasked with prosecuting these cases actually gets a conviction, it most likely won't involve time behind bars in the county jail. The LA Sheriff doesn't want to be bothered with cases that just take up jail space. If memory serves, the LASD might still be operating under an oversight decree dating back to the Baca and Tanaka shenanigans. They don't need this distraction. It also was revealed that LA County paid out a billion dollars in 2023 in civilian settlements to people who brought suit against the department. More reason for the SD to stay clear of this nuisance cases. But these "reporters' doing a two=minute on-camera stand-up dont' have the institutional knowledge to ferret out these facts, and we are left with the impression that activity equals progress.
Graffiti vandalism has been growing throughout L.A. for what now, 10, 15+ years? Soft on graffiti, laws that are SOFT ON VANDALISM, countless of similar buildings, retail locations, abandoned, not just this huge sore thumb high rise. Other developers and owners that exploit old office and strip malls for fast buck businesses and medical office, fly by night green card colleges, etc. etc. etc. and NOW the city, the mayor, are doing something about it? HA. Look at how bad even the factory section of DTLA has been also destroyed by graffiti. From tunnels to freeway overpasses, even beautiful murals have been destroyed, the '84 Olympics murals were destoryed by graffit vandals. It's been a problem for YEARS. YOu want another building to profile and report on? The once beautiful department store art deco I.Magnum building on Wilshire and New Hampshire, just west of Vermont Ave. Blighted by owner neglect, blighting a community, further oppressing it, no regard for Los Angeles History. There are countless others. Olympic and Union Ave. We can go on and on. What about holding those owners accountable and law makers also?
I used to work in that area almost 4 years ago and they were starting to build them then. Went to a Lakers game in January and noticed they never finished them. So this is gonna happen and much worse
Kid think u know the law but u dont, Vandalism is punished based on the value of the property. If you are convicted of the Felony form of Vandalism, you face up to three years in a state prison, a fine of up to $50,000, or both prison and a fine
‘Graffiti culture grows throughout downtown LA’…it’s a problem for city Officials because they cannot relate to it and they can see the building from their fancy offices. The focus needs to be on cleaning up the streets of human waste and garbage in downtown. Putting all this energy towards this property is just silly. What do you think was going to happen to a mega construction site left behind by irresponsible developers who paid god knows how much to city council members for permit approval. People are going to jump off buildings regardless. What Law enforcement really needs to focus on is car theft, muggings, murder and illegal fireworks in this area. So yeah the mayor needs Batman.
Graffiti has always been a problem in L.A. , what’s more important graffiti or the people. I had to move out of state cuz I couldn’t afford the cost of living in L.A. . I can’t adapt to the weather in Colorado I’m homesick and at a loss without my family. Sufferingsukatash…..
How about the city hires these people to make murals around the city so you can redirect their talents into something useful? They waste money on more ridiculous things like guarding an abandoned building on the taxpayers dime.
With all the street drug dealers , crips , bloods open air drug markets. Skid row. Is an open air drug market. This is sooo dumb and not the real problem
LA needs to just do something like Miami. Have a section in the arts district where artist can go fill up the walls. Becomes an attraction and they can have vendors, music, ect..
The Tagger is just some hostile Male who doesn’t want a broken jaw attacking happy couples in the Park. So it’s inanimate objects with his face covered.
And there it is, the tagger himself said the laws for this crime are lax so they will keep going back . What's the fix ? Change those laws maybe ? Of course it is but till then Enjoy your free art Karen Bass ..... ( not condoning the crime at hand / just saying make the laws tougher ) PEACE !

It does not look better than plain walls. By the way stupid you don't own those walls. The owners of those walls have to pay people to clean your vandalism off. And if it's art... Put it on canvas
So paint is a BIG BIG problem but people can still steal what they want from whatever store they want and get away with it….. there’s a lot more wrong with LA and it’s not paint

Too late

Kevin DeLeon said in front of a camera that the LAPD is not the developer's private security force, and yet, here we are, even including the SWAT team.
The developers of those buildings paid lot of taxes too😂😂
That graffiti doesn't bother me more than all the homeless and violent criminals on the streets
Nothing says ghetto like graffiti. When thy want to know why businesses leave and their property values don't go up...they can look to themselves for allowing this to happen...and calling it art.
This is now a Chinese 'Ghost' building, and like nearly all Chinese ghost buildings, it will most likely end up being demolished.
there are many people I've lived around for over 10 years now, and allot of them want to leave or are in the process of packing up and going somewhere else. The crime at any given spot in LA is stupid high...and as I said the cops don't care unless there's blood involved.

Normal day in LA
SKID ROW is around the corner , people die everyday. But yea, let's focus on property damage. LA Hypocrisy at its finest.
There's always been graffiti in LA why is everyone trippin all of a sudden
WHO LET THE TOYS OUT!!?! (Who, who, who, who)(Who, who, who, who)

Bing!@@davidhays2846
It’s all male mammals. Haven’t you ever been in a men’s room? Hell, this is a microcosm of colonialism, the ultimate marking and peeing on property.
You sound retarded
You're marking this channels video with your piss comment, too, 🤡. Your words are digital. Stop crying and go back to sleep.
On the commercial properties we own we never let graffiti be there more than 24 hours before we erase it day and day out❤
The parents of these criminals are also charged with felony vandalism . Teach your spawn to Obey the Law and get a job. They will each have to pay $100,000. to the owner of the building. and 25,000 to the court.

If you voted for Bass. You’re getting what you paid for.
Outta all the issues cesspool LA has this should be the least of concerns.
Notice how DeLeon is the only one making public statements in front of a camera. Nobody has heard a single word out of Karen Bass on this.
Lol no one cares about graffiti. Only being talked about cause the reporters on the news
So proud of his work that he covered up his face.

I agree 👍 with NBCLA and the reporter....
Karen bass and Gavin newsom and DA gascon have destroyed los angeles
The people who are complaining about this are the same people who voted for the politicians who allow crime to run rampant.

This is when defund the police happens..
Where's Snake Plissken when you need him.
Toy he's not an artist
How about the city hires these people to make murals around the city so you can redirect their talents into something useful? They waste money on more ridiculous things like guarding an abandoned building on the taxpayers dime.
If these people were interested in working, they’d be at work. There are opportunities out there to paint and make money that they passed on.
I wonder how many spray cans he'd be using if he lost his hands...We need real punishment for crimes.
With all the street drug dealers , crips , bloods open air drug markets. Skid row. Is an open air drug market. This is sooo dumb and not the real problem
Make it affordable housing for all the working poor 20 and 30 somethings who work and live in DTLA
@@JoshL1976 What does that have to do with vandalizing people's property with nonsense?

LA needs to just do something like Miami. Have a section in the arts district where artist can go fill up the walls. Becomes an attraction and they can have vendors, music, ect..
Autsin,Tx has a spot like that.
The graffiti beautifies the blight.
Note how the tagger is aware of the city's catch and release policy toward criminals.
Beautifies the blight? No not really... not at all
The Tagger is just some hostile Male who doesn’t want a broken jaw attacking happy couples in the Park. So it’s inanimate objects with his face covered.
u sound dumb asfc lame
Lmao are you off your medication?
Lmao you truly dont know urban life.
It's a slap on the wrist, no different to smash and grabs. SMH

A lot of people don't understand graffiti. Graffiti is a war. And it's objective is to COVER everything and everybody.
F Buffers
Shhhh*t help drop the cost of living here in LA.
these are the trendiest "gangsters" ever!
It isn't a graffiti problem. It's a vandal problem. Blame the people, not the paint.
Toy!
Welcome to LA.
It's picked up because there are NO CONSEQUENCES! Welcome to Los Angeles
You may face fines? As in most don't? That might be problematic.
I cannot wait for it all to be covered gonna look way better

It’s been that way for years.

Actually no, but I understand the point of Chinese manufacturing flooding western markets.
Those who put work into their pieces, I can admire. Those who tag and scribe like little kids are the ones that are messing it up for everyone else.
Stop worrying about graff and worry about more serious crimes
None of this would be going on under a Republican administered government. So stop complaining. You all voted for this.

Told him to go practice around the corner!!!
don't feel bad at all - y'all voted for this!
...Los Angeles now has a place to put the homeless and all the illegal immigrants...
The meth , drugs and street crime are the real problem
Art is not the problem
LA is the new Oakland.
Looks awesome
Address the poverty and homelessless first maybe.
Looks cool to me lol where's the problem?

It looks better than plain walls. How is this a “problem”? It’s art.
The only problem I see is a huge empty building that can house the homeless but doesn’t
It does not look better than plain walls. By the way stupid you don't own those walls. The owners of those walls have to pay people to clean your vandalism off. And if it's art... Put it on canvas
“It looks better than plain walls” to you. Beauty is subjective. Everyone doesn’t need or want to see that.
USA is now a third world country 😂😂😂
When asians are starting to get into graffiti you know it's a problem.
