Thank you for this. I have watched a few Viveza videos previously and come away feeling there is little I can accomplish that I can't do in Color Efex. I now see that this is incorrect. I will have a look through some old photographs and have a play with Viveza. I live in Thailand and the light is often very harsh here. There is good light at sunrise and sunset but I try not to be out on my motorbike on the roads when it isn't daylight because the standard of driving is pretty grim. I think Viveza might be a help to me after I get some practice in.
Thanks, Viveza is much more interesting than I had realised, I've been layering it on top of Color Efex in Photoshop recently and it works well as you get a further level of control with the opacity sliders. Details will be in the Color Efex video next week. We have the same issue in Spain with light, it's extreme in the summer.
Thanks for your Videos! Some time before you introduceced Photolab 7 from DXO. NIK is also DXO, why do you combine it with lihgtroom and photoshop? Does this combination lead to better results?
Thank you! The reason is largely historical. DxO acquired Nik from Google in 2017 at which time it was a set of filters for Lightroom and Photoshop. So there is a large number of people who use Nik in an Adobe workflow. Since the acquisition we've seen the two product lines get closer - Re-engineering of the Nik Collection completed in V6, Control Points appearing in PhotoLab, ability to export from PhotoLab to Nik etc. I don't think it's a question of better results, it's simply what works for the individual. I imagine the integration process between PhotoLab and Nik Collection will continue, alongside that with Adobe.
