The answer starts around 2:30… BCAAs, specifically leucine, when you eat/drink 2.5 grams will ‘turn on’ the mTOR pathway, that pathway is what rebuilds exhausted muscle whether it be weights or endurance. You can’t build muscle in a fasted state and 2.5 grams of leucine turns off your ‘fasted state’ and turns on your building state. HOWEVER, once you turn on the building state, you need to have the things muscle needs to build with… and that is exactly where ALL of the other amino acids are needed.
My god they do a fantastic job of not answering the question, and talk about everything else around the subject. Are bcaa’s needed? Yes? No? Sometimes?
OK, the question is, "Do You Need Branched Chain Amino Acids?". I tried to stay awake for answer but never seemed to find one. Did I fall asleep and miss the answer? I am looking for a yes or no answer here, anyone know?
The effect of branched chain amino acids has been conclusively proven. They are indispensable for muscle building, repair and breakdown. It is therefore a fact that the avid (strength) athlete must consume sufficient BCAAs on a daily basis.............. So the answer is YES!😊
They seemed to answer "Maybe". If you ate 30 grams of proteins at meals you didn't need to supplement. If you wok out hard it may be of some benefit afterward. I didn't come away with a definitive answer.

So you should take them after a workout?
