Great little review Sir, do miss my R56 mini after watching this. My mate had a F55 Cooper S in this colour for three years, he liked the car but he much preferred his Micra 160SR so much so he sold the Mini about six months ago for another 160SR to go alongside his March Impul.

Sir, I am afraid that we cannot discuss the R56s, and it is for the same reason as usual... Strange that the 160SR was more appealing to your friend than an F55 Cooper S!

I have actually recently ridden in a 5 door Mini Cooper equipped with the automatic, and it is quite quick!
MSRP new (I just priced a Mini Cooper online on their website) is very expensive, but once depreciation has occurred, it will make for a very good pre-owned vehicle!

Yes, the electric Minis are even more expensive, but as these are so common, the prices are much better after a few years.

    Smashing little car.
For those interested in the modern Mini, I can recommend the factory tour at Plant Oxford (aka Cowley for us oldies).

Glad you enjoyed the video, sir! I never know exactly what I am going to be filming in Chelmsford until I turn up, which is always interesting....

A Very welcome boost to 134 bhp from the R56 1.6 with only 122bhp. Although I fear that the F56 may be much heavier.
Stil it sounds smooth and drives like a MINI so it will be a success.
The interior may be small but it is of the finest quality

A boost in reliability over the Prince engine as well, sir! I preferred the Vauxhall Adam to this one, but I do understand why people like them. Certainly quick enough...

Great blogs Loyd, if you could get one of these for 5k I'd be driving round I one now! Here up North you would have to put in another couple of grand to get one.

Only the early ones with high mileage are under £5,000 at the moment, sadly. This one was for sale for considerably more, of course! Thank you for watching, Pete.

Of the 13 Minis I had the F56 was the worst. The ride was better, much better trim levels, more refined. But you cannot see out of them. There is a huge blind spot caused by the A pillar. So after 15 months I sold the car and went back to a R56, which was like stepping into a greenhouse.
Of course the best engine is….whispers…. The 2 litre diesel with 170hp, £30 tax and 60mpg achievable.
On the 2017 facelift you got a touch screen plus a few buttons were moved about.
One of the reasons I liked the Minis because if buying new, it was a bespoke car. Which makes buying a secondhand one hard because I could never find the options I wanted. In 2018 they had to introduce the trim levels because of changing emissions laws. Otherwise They were told they would have to test every option, and there were hundreds. So trims levels came in.
Also I really like the one touch indicators, the other type feels so old fashioned.

Sir, you know the rules, we are unable to discuss the R56 Minis of any sort on this channel.... The visibility of this F56 is quite poor, especially as this one has neither a reversing camera nor parking sensors. This is one of the reasons I preferred the Vauxhall Adam that I had filmed earlier in the day, which has much better visibility and does not feel as dark inside.

I'm trying to find a second hand one of these and you're right, I can't find the trim level I want.

A relative had one of these, I think it was a 2013 year from new. The engine was leaking oil under 20k miles and needed a regular top up. It was fun to drive though.

That sounds like the previous generation R55/56 Mini. Those have a completely different engine lineup, including the terrible Prince engine. There is a reason why discussion of the Prince engine is banned on this channel...

@@lloydvehicleconsulting Ahh I see. Well she did eventually trade it in for a Hyundai Tucson which she is fairly happy with. Though last I heard Hyundai are facing a class action law suit in the states for leaky engines..

Yes, they should be a bit better than the Prince engines, however.
