Caleb , I've been playing guitar for 40 years and you my friend are trully impressive , I love your videos . Thank you so very much for making a Rig Rundown video .I love It man !
Here via the British Electric Blues and 5150 Show :). What a great rig ... and your own paint jobs are as impressive as your playing Caleb! Great work, keeping the VH spirit alive 👍🎸😎👏🌞
WOW~~~~amazing player and such a kind person to share these insights with those out there who are learning. Your chops are inspiring like the king. Wondering if you would do a more in depth review of the pedal board one day. I look forward to one day seeing NH live. All the best!
Caleb I chatted with you on Johnny Beane show. When you went to Eddie's house he grew up in. Man, you really went all out on your gear. Nerd Halen should write a tribute tune to Eddie. Now is the time. Cheers James.
This is awesome! I might be joining a VH tribute myself and this was super helpful! I already have a wolfie special but your vid is making me want to stripe my old mexi strat
Cool to see a thin pick guy. I use .50 to .60 mm most of the time. So much more dynamic especially on clean chord picking. I cant get the Metal Metallica chug with that gauge but when I need it I switch to a 1mm.
Nerd that black guitar with the sparkles is awesome! Can I have it? I promise not to play it cuz I cant play. I just want it for a wall orniment. But I will take a Nerd Halen pick. Or do you have a merc shop?
So cool! I just discovered your channel! We have a lot of in common! I am nerd (autistic nerd), crazy about EVH, and Rapoport is a jewish name (I am Benhamou, from Algeria/Israel). Greetings, Mordi, The Autistic Guitarist.
I have a project guitar with a Floyd Rose. I can’t put any less than three springs on it to keep the bridge flat. With two springs it always floats forward. I want only two like on all of your guitars. I’m even embarrassed to ask because I’ve been playing for so long but I’ve looked online and it just says to do a give and take with the claw and tuning pegs. I’ve tried that and a few other things to no avail. I think it may be that my guitar’s back hole isn’t long enough to pull two springs. That’s what she said? Lol It’s a northern ash strat body meant for a classic Fender tremolo bridge. Perhaps that’s why. I want know your secret! Lol
Not really sure. A dumb question would be have you screwed the claw all the way into the front of the cavity. I'm sure you have. They do make higher tension Springs. That could solve it.
@@nerdhalen yeah I have done that and regardless it doesn’t work. Thanks for the response and I’ll check out higher tension springs. I was just wondering if it was a balancing trick between tightening/loosening the tuning pegs in concordance with l tightening and loosening the claw’s screws in the back. I need to get that trem stop too because of tuning issues lol. Also, love your covers of Van Halen!
It's funny you said nearly the same thing that I say about my EVH Wolfgang Stealth, it's the best sounding guitar I have and super versatile, you can sound like Gilmour, then switch to sounding like Page, great guitars!
great rig Caleb, thanks for sharing. Hope your staying safe these days. What made you go with the EL34 over the other evh amps? Can you practice at normal volumes with that beast or is this just your live setup
@@nerdhalen Thanks for the quick reply. I have been dropping a 30th ann. Marshall down to about 105 without re-biasing and it sounds fantastic. But for sure am worrying a bit about damaging something.
Yeah cause your fakin it right Caleb? I just cant get over the nonsense .Thanks for sharing . Ive been playing Brian Moore guitars for a few years now. You have a great collection. See you again .Keep it up.
I made it a minute into the video before I left, it puzzles me why somebody would make a description video and have music drowning out everything that he is saying 🤦

Awesome. Great tone. Great playing.
I love that you also have the Polara reverb. It’s a beautiful sounding reverb.
Amazing gear, tone, and playing.
Great video!!
That little chord-smidgen of EVH’s version of ‘Fur Elise’ jumped right out at me. (I’ve always loved that). ⭐️
Einar Freberg thanks man!
I have the ivory USA Wolfgang, absolutely love it

Hey James! We're going to do something. Nice talking to you in Pasadena. ♥️🤍🖤
That’s cool. I think it’s awesome you built some of your own guitars. Everything sounds great👍👍👍
Thanks so much!
Awesome rig Caleb! Really nice job on those guitars too, I think the Bumble Nerd is my favorite! Thank you for sharing dude!!

Unbelievable Caleb , thanks.
Cool! Nice gear Caleb!
Sounds and looks amazing!
The stainless is bad ass. Love it.
Thankyou awesome playing and content, related to Bill R at EHX?
No relation. 🤘🏼
Seems like people are not using the 6505 + / 5150 Peavey amps anymore.
Nerd Halen needs to come to St Louis...!!
This is awesome! I might be joining a VH tribute myself and this was super helpful! I already have a wolfie special but your vid is making me want to stripe my old mexi strat
Good presentation!
Nice Bro... Tone is killin’!!!

I'm going to modify my Charvel to have a kill switch - so cool on the dive bombs!
Still a smidge obsessed with the Spacewolf. Great rundown Caleb!
Amanda Coombs thanks Amanda!
Very Nice bro!
Thank you for that!
Been hanging out for this video!
My Peavey Wolfgangs are my best! I have a couple newer model Charvels, some parts mutts. Great video and thank you!!
Great stuff , have you by any chance tried the EVH Frankenstein pup ?
Great setup Caleb, subbed!
Enjoyable video, dope guitars, cute picks & sexy voice 👌🏼
..first I've heard of NH ....sound great ..
Awsome, I was curious what you were using too.
I just picked up a 1996 Peavey 5150 in a trade over the weekend! It's 5150 time again!!!!!
Nerd that black guitar with the sparkles is awesome! Can I have it? I promise not to play it cuz I cant play. I just want it for a wall orniment. But I will take a Nerd Halen pick. Or do you have a merc shop?
Thanks Susan!
The SpaceWolf is going to stay here with me. 😂
We have Merch in our store at NerdHalen.com picks are not available at this time, sorry.

Killer Tone!!!
RIP EVH
Great video! And great gear!! Curious...assuming that head has a resonance knob on the back, roughly where do you have that set?
All the way up
Loved that!

Just came across this video Caleb. Really cool set up 🙂. Congratulations again on the EVH opportunity. Will Nerd halen be coming to Ohio??
Guitar Collector 12 thank you!
Guitar Collector 12 hopefully! Still very early in the game.
Awesome vid! What is the "epitone" (sp?) upgrade you mention with the bridge on most of these guitars? I haven't heard of it and I'm curious. Thanks!
Oh wait? I think I got lucky on google. FU-Tone?!
FU-TONE check them out!
Great vid Caleb! Random question, what kind of pedal board is that? Where can I find one?
ConnorJohnson5150 that was something I had custom made. But boards with metal edges and handles are common. Try Craigslist for used ones.
Did your amp have to get any set up work for the variac? Sounds awesome 👍
yes it did. a very slight bias tweaking.
great rig Caleb, thanks for sharing. Hope your staying safe these days. What made you go with the EL34 over the other evh amps? Can you practice at normal volumes with that beast or is this just your live setup
ryan twigg it is designed with his early Marshall tone in mind. The band is primarily Roth era. It was the right choice. 🤘🏼
Great rig. Has he amp been re-biased to handle the drop to 90 V?
Yes but it was a very slight change.
@@nerdhalen Thanks for the quick reply. I have been dropping a 30th ann. Marshall down to about 105 without re-biasing and it sounds fantastic. But for sure am worrying a bit about damaging something.
Do you boost the blue channel? the 50 watt blue channel stock is flubby and doesn't have the same character as its other models
Gnarly rig man! What strings do you use?
I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys 9-42
NERD HALEN awesome! Ernie Ball’s are the best!
Wait that body is from K and E I'm from Oxnard that's a trip man 🎉
new super faannnnn!!!!!!!
Hey have you ever have to retube that head yet? If so, who do you use for tubes?
Bill Strange have not retubed yet.
Bill Strange not yet.
Nerd Halen all day winning....
Gene Perry ♥️
Hey Caleb at 5:42 I notice some shrill what causes this?
I'm not sure what you're referring to. That's the "So This Is Love solo.
Q: is the built in reverb not good enough?
Hey Fab! The built in Reverb only comes on the combo amps. Not in 50 or 100w heads. I'm using a 50w head and 2/12 cabinet. 🤘🏼
That phaser-that’s a custom job, right? Can you tell me about it?
It's a custom Script mod switch. It basically has the class 70s (script) phase and the modern phase. Found it on eBay in early 2000s
@@nerdhalen Thank you, sir. Yes, I found a video with a tutorial on how to do it:
ua-cam.com/video/OyTr2F1L5JU/v-deo.html
Is that the stock 2x12? Please say no. Say you changed the speakers.
Stock!
@@nerdhalen that sucks. I had one and I tried breaking it in and I could never get a sound I liked out of it so I sold it for peanuts.
@@Jarrodpimental the Hunniac drop box at 90v gets the amp right in the zone.
((NERDS!!))
Yeah cause your fakin it right Caleb? I just cant get over the nonsense .Thanks for sharing . Ive been playing Brian Moore guitars for a few years now. You have a great collection. See you again .Keep it up.
Right on!
I made it a minute into the video before I left, it puzzles me why somebody would make a description video and have music drowning out everything that he is saying 🤦
Bye, son.
The black and yellow has lots of imperfections in the stripes, the black bleeds in to the yellow paint, great video otherwise!
My bee is imperfect? What will I do now?
Ok. What three idiots gave the thumb down?
Awesome.
