About Amouage I have a few things to share: I feel Sunshine is a good way for ladies to start too (it was where i started with Amouage, however I was never into designer, so I started right into niche). Love Tuberose is fantastic for those who like Tuberose, it's so creamy! Interlude and Memoir woman I feel both are Veteran and 5 star general as you suggested too. I absolutely love Material, Guidance, Honour 43 (has Sandra tried Honour 43? it's amazing!). Ashore is such a beautiful classy Jasmine, I love it too. Overture woman is also good, but maybe not for beginners.I still need to explore the others like portrayal, epic, crimson rocks, lineage, etc. By the way, having good old water! :D In summary, for ladies -> New Recruit: Sunshine Woman /Honour woman/Love Tuberose for tuberose fans; Semi-pro -> Guidance/Overture woman; Veteran: Material; 5 Star General: Interlude woman/Memoir Woman.

Steamy warm summer here in Berlin and I can't get enough of Beach Hut Man in this weather. Some folk find it challenging so maybe for Veterans?

I think the citrus on top of the gorgeous Frankincense in Search carries it into a great summer evening wear. Really enjoying both BHM and Search at present in the June heat of Greece.

I guess I'm in the veteran class as I love Epic. I used to have Interlude, but just didn't connect with me. Material was also something I used to have and wore quite a few times, but too feminine leaning for me. As always, appreciate "Mate Talk: The Director's Cut". Thankfully, no intermission.

I currently own 3 offerings from Amouage. Reflection, Reflection 45 and Beach Hut. BHM is certainly potent and "aggresively fresh" is how I like to describe it. Reflection is pure bliss. Delicate yet assertive. The florals play a beautiful symphony with the sandalwood and the incense notes. The opening is particulary beautiful. Refleftion 45, tho... 😕 Yes, the RM DNA is there. Amped up resins take the main stage and its a shall we say Sauvage Elixir take on the RM formula. My issue with RM45 is the performance or lacktherof for me. Sits painfully close to my skin and after a few hours its just not detectable anymore to my nose. I like to layer RM with RM45 for an added boost as they compliment each other seamlessly. But at this point I can say that I'm disappointed with RM45 given the price point. Those complainers were not bluffing after all. 😂
I found Reflection 45 disappointing also. If it has been reflection, but moreso, I'd have definitely gone for it. But it was... flat, and dense but not deep (if that makes sense). I also found that on my skin it was leaving a cloud of something quite unpleasantly earthy in any space I'd occupied. Beach Hut Man is one I want to try again. Coukdn't figure out whether I liked it or not from one wear and never gave it another go.

[soda] It's very funny to use that tier system with Amouage because Amouage "semi-pro" is close to 5-star vet for several entry-level brands. My Amouage collection isn't the biggest, but I have a couple bottles and have sampled around 25 I want to say (got samples in my drawer). New recruit: [1] Ashore (simple & monotonous jasmine); [2] Jubilation XXV (fruity with soft warm spices & some sweetness, date night stand-out). [3] Crimson Rocks (perfect rose-honey-cinnamon fragrance). Semi-pro: [1] Reflection Man (a lot of orris root that gives it a soft animalic hint), [2] Material (reminds me of Grand Soir in all honesty, just spices and ambers), [3] Boundless (sweet ambers with tolerable tobacco) Veteran: [1] Enclave (sweet ambers with mint), [2] Search (juniper dipped in motor oil with lemon spritzed on top), [3] Portrayal Man (in-line with OG Fahrenheit EDT, a fresh woody-floral with hints of green) 5-star veteran: [1] Opus XIV Royal Tobacco (ash tray tobacco), [2] Opus XIII Silver Oud (very harsh oud-driven scent with an animalic base), [3] Overture Man (spices, woods, resinous - uber-sophisticated fragrance).

My best summer fragrances are Arrakis by Spirit of Kings, Wulong Cha by Nishane, Bahar by Spirit of Dubai, and Burlington 1918 by Roja. Those are all great places to start. They are light, long lasting, and unique.
Uh oh, my first (and only so far) Amouage is Royal Tobacco. Love it so much it has me looking at others in the Amouage lineup, mostly Portrayal, Reflection and Journey.

( 3 perfume brands I still need to start with ) And while I'm at it, let's try Maté, I've also ordered a Maté Time glass, and that made me think of: Do you have recommendations for Maté flavors / brands? And how do you prepare it, cold is also possible right? Maybe a topic for in the Maté Talk I already looked up some Maté brands online and the looks of the packages and them coming from different countries reminds me of my grandpa smoking pipe, I don't compare it to smoking, but I loved when he told me about the different tobacco's he had from that part of the world or from another with different flavors and the designs on the package. When typing this I thought this is why I love Niche perfumery too, the origin, the story behind it and the boogie bottles The only reason I like the tobacco note is probably also because it brings back the memories of him smoking his pipe, for sure in Fan your Flames by Nishane.
I like Jubilation but the new releases like Purpose, Overture reckless leather etc are phenomenal . I like Epic , Interlude the black Iris as well as Extrait 53, Reflection and extrait . Amouage doesn’t disappoint I actually have a 45 sampler set and it’s helped a lot to figure out which one I wanted

After watching this, tonight I'm a going full veteran with Epic, although it might be wasted sitting in front of the TV with the wife. Tomorrow I'm also now tempted to wear Overture at an important meeting, but this General might just chicken out - I need this project in the bag! I've offloaded a good few Amouages over the years and now have only four I use regularly. Reflection 45, Beach Hut, Epic and Overture (with Bracken and Sunshine in my 2nd tier drawer, just in case). I also particularly like the sound (of the smell?) of Honour Woman and might get this for my aforementioned other half, if only to get her off the Delina bandwagon. Cheers Marcelo 👍

Of course, I had to watch a Maté Talk about my favorite house, Amouage (it’s actually tied with Houbigant). I’ve only been collecting for 2 years (and niche for only a year), but so far I have Interlude Black Iris, Purpose, Memoir Man, Jubilation 25, Reflection Man, Reflection 45 and Overture Woman. I’ve recently sampled some Amouage fragrances after hearing great things about that house and holy molly they are powerful and potent. Interlude 53 and Opus XIV: Royal Tobacco are my top favorites to actually buy for upcomming winter. Interlude reminds me in some ways of Terroni from Orto Parisi but not to say they are the same, The Blue Beast is called that for a reason 😅. Also Enclave was very interesting and unique take on mint and Jubilation XXV was magical. Those captured my attention the most. Great video as always, Marcelo, big love from Croatia 😁
Interlude black iris was one of my top 5. Recently got a new bottle and i believe it has been dialled back in power - this is based on a direct comparison with my 1st bottle that was around 3 years old. Lets hope they dont do that to Royal Tobacco…..
I won't list the nine Amouage I own. You didn't include two favorites of mine. I accidentally found a 50ml. tester of Epic Woman Extrait a decade ago. I put it away and forgot about it until I dug it out this year. Nobody seems to mention it anywhere. Regardless, Epic Woman variations are indeed epic. It's my favorite Amouage. And Jubilation XXV! How dare you forget that! 😉

SECONDLY, related to Amouage collection, I am new to their line and I made the same mistake as You did: based on the hype and fragrance reviews, I bought sample 10ml of Amouage Interlude Black Iris (as my first decant from the line) and on the first sniff I felt as it smells as feces and nearly fainted :) (my nose was probably overwhelmed by the scent and went to 'factory settings', haha). I gave the perfume the second chance and now it is my most liked fragrance/perfume and I feel to it as You do towards Nasomatto Pardon: Interlude Black Iris is NOW me and I feel self-confident wearing it. All this was thanks to Your reviews, videos and excellent stories and comments. Thanks!!!

What’s your take on Reflection 45 Sir? I have the normal Reflection Man and like it a lot. I would love a bit more projection though. As of right now, the other Amouage I smelled, they are too complex and heavy for me 😊. For a premium niche bottle, I also find the atomizer on Amouage bottles embarrassing bad 😳😳.
I have tried 3 Amouage fragrances: Interlude, Reflection and Enclave. Liked Enclave the most, but have trouble with the Reflection. Sometimes when i get a whiff of it, i am like "omg this is amazing" but other times " get it off me" How would you say Reflection 45 is compared to the normal Reflection? Amazing contest as always

I came back to this one in my journey to get to know more about the Amouage Woman line, which I stupidly ignored previously. There is no Hamburger pour Homme nor Steak For Woman. For a guy, you have to try (at least) Epic Woman, Overture Woman, Memoir Woman and Jubilation Woman. Forget the Woman marketing and add additional Amouage gems to your arsenal. That might be an episode idea, Hamburger pour Homme?
Totally agree with you Gerard, the bottom line is that perfume/smell is a unisex expression… there is no gender associated to this. You love what you love, regardless whether you are a man or a woman. I always love the comment from Luca Maffai where he says, which pasta is for man & in which pasta is for woman🤷🏽♂️.... Well I started from Amouage Interlude Black Iris (5-star general-ranked fragrance) and being on the top of the hill of the line. now it will be easier to go downhill towards Rookie rank of the Line 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I have already checked Amouagr Beach Hut, Amouage Reflection man and Amouage Journey Man (Reflection seems too simple to me so I did not like it as others tried. Hi The Niche Fragrance Collector, please suggest: Since the Interlude man has the strong Oregano note, how many spray should I do? Distant spray or close spray? Spraying only under the shirt? I thought Jubilation, Reflection, Boundless, and Beach Hut would be newbies and then Memoir would be semi-pro, but different takes which is good. I realize you were probably only using fragrances you have too rather than any Amouage. I know you've also raved about Journey man which I've been testing this past week and started to love and so I was surprised this didn't make a showing.

I got seven 2ml viles to test and I liked them in this order: "Memoir Man, Jubilation XXV Man, Rose Incense, Epic Man, Beach Hut Man, Journey Man, Dia Man" on paper day 1. "On paper" (no pun intended) Journey Man kinda screams my name. I was disappointed that it gave me baby wipe vibes on the blotter. But when I got to test it on skin it was so much better and now it's gone from second too last to like second or first. No perfume have I tried that is so different on skin rather than paper. It's really comforting to me. I don't know why.
What about Myths Man, which category does this fall into? I really love Myths Man, when opening it smells like really burnt incense and added chrysanthemum flower note but it's so gorgeous in the next phase it becomes creamy and sweet on my skin, and I always smell this now before going to bed LoL
Great question! But not one that I'm in authority to answer 🥲 This isn't one that I have in my collection and in truth I haven't experienced either as yet! We don't get everything here in Australia and my local retailer doesn't have this one in the line up...sorry! Hey Marcelo, thanks a ton! You seriously need to give Myths Man a go. I guarantee you won't come across a fragrance like this anywhere else. The vibe it gives off is straight out of an alien dimension, man. You'll feel like you've been transported to a whole other world. Hey, I'm not even exaggerating here, but let me tell you, this fragrance is ridiculously unique. Like, seriously, it's off-the-charts extraordinary! Finding Myths Man can be a real challenge in certain countries, and it's not the easiest fragrance to use for any occasion. But Halloween? That's the perfect time to rock it! It's like experiencing a piece of abstract art that nobody else gets, only you can truly enjoy it. I'm really grateful I found this content from @TheNicheFragranceCollector helpful, man. I've done two fragrance blind-buys; Amouage Overture and Orto Parisi Megamare Now, you are calling Overture a killer. In that case, Megamare is a serial killer lol I absolutely love Overture, but the Megamare I sold on after trying it on on two different occasions. It was way too much, and there was a very displeasing note in it.

Really enjoyed the video Marcello. I'm intending to go a bit deeper into the Amouages. I have only two; Reflection man, which is one of my most worn fragrances (such an easy reach, and never boring), and Lyric Woman, which has seen a fair bit of wear of late (the vintage French style to it is truly lovely). I found Interlude (and Black Iris) to be fantastic, but really wouldn't suit me. Will have to try out Incense Rose, and Boundless at some point.

Man, interlude like I walked out of a smokey room of incense. This is a frangence for the great grandfathers.. interlude doesn't give a mood of elegance.. the best way to explain Interlude is to think of a cigar shop environment 😢

Honestly, "Interlude" gives me earthy, Christmas, and Thanksgiving vibes, including the holidays, colors green and red, drinking eggnogs, and camping. This is a good frangence for guys who hunts in the wild and that enjoy the outdoors smells of grass, bugs, and the crackling sound of wood fires and fishing, etc I like to pair my frangence with my aesthetic so Here are two ways I would pair "Interlude" for men: 1) I would wear it with my Palm Angels sunglasses, modern-day oversized wide-leg blue jeans, with a slim fit white blazer 2) Use it as a car air freshener

R45 is an absolute masterpiece; maybe more traditionally masculine that RM is.

Loved the Amouage rundown Marcelo. Big thumbs up there for Overture Man by Karine Vinchon Spehner as a 5* General. You had at least 2 others by her in your list and I love her work. Steamy warm summer here in Berlin and I can't get enough of Beach Hut Man in this weather. Some folk find it challenging so maybe for Veterans?
Would you recommend the beach hut or search for the hot high humidity summer?

For me the distinct frankincense note in Search is what I enjoy over Fall/Spring months… But this is me😬
I think the citrus on top of the gorgeous Frankincense in Search carries it into a great summer evening wear. Really enjoying both BHM and Search at present in the June heat of Greece.
Hello Marcelo and thanks for another shout-out. Water mate in the house. Amouage...you threw up some bangers. I own Epic Man (thanks to your original review) and Reflection Man. I guess I'm in the veteran class as I love Epic. I used to have Interlude, but just didn't connect with me. Material was also something I used to have and wore quite a few times, but too feminine leaning for me. As always, appreciate "Mate Talk: The Director's Cut". Thankfully, no intermission.

I currently own 3 offerings from Amouage. Reflection, Reflection 45 and Beach Hut. BHM is certainly potent and "aggresively fresh" is how I like to describe it. Reflection is pure bliss. Delicate yet assertive. The florals play a beautiful symphony with the sandalwood and the incense notes. The opening is particulary beautiful. Refleftion 45, tho... 😕 Yes, the RM DNA is there. Amped up resins take the main stage and its a shall we say Sauvage Elixir take on the RM formula. My issue with RM45 is the performance or lacktherof for me. Sits painfully close to my skin and after a few hours its just not detectable anymore to my nose. I like to layer RM with RM45 for an added boost as they compliment each other seamlessly. But at this point I can say that I'm disappointed with RM45 given the price point. Those complainers were not bluffing after all. 😂
I found Reflection 45 disappointing also. If it has been reflection, but moreso, I'd have definitely gone for it. But it was... flat, and dense but not deep (if that makes sense). I also found that on my skin it was leaving a cloud of something quite unpleasantly earthy in any space I'd occupied.
Beach Hut Man is one I want to try again. Coukdn't figure out whether I liked it or not from one wear and never gave it another go.

[soda] It's very funny to use that tier system with Amouage because Amouage "semi-pro" is close to 5-star vet for several entry-level brands. My Amouage collection isn't the biggest, but I have a couple bottles and have sampled around 25 I want to say (got samples in my drawer).
New recruit: [1] Ashore (simple & monotonous jasmine); [2] Jubilation XXV (fruity with soft warm spices & some sweetness, date night stand-out). [3] Crimson Rocks (perfect rose-honey-cinnamon fragrance).
Semi-pro: [1] Reflection Man (a lot of orris root that gives it a soft animalic hint), [2] Material (reminds me of Grand Soir in all honesty, just spices and ambers), [3] Boundless (sweet ambers with tolerable tobacco)
Veteran: [1] Enclave (sweet ambers with mint), [2] Search (juniper dipped in motor oil with lemon spritzed on top), [3] Portrayal Man (in-line with OG Fahrenheit EDT, a fresh woody-floral with hints of green)
5-star veteran: [1] Opus XIV Royal Tobacco (ash tray tobacco), [2] Opus XIII Silver Oud (very harsh oud-driven scent with an animalic base), [3] Overture Man (spices, woods, resinous - uber-sophisticated fragrance).

My best summer fragrances are Arrakis by Spirit of Kings, Wulong Cha by Nishane, Bahar by Spirit of Dubai, and Burlington 1918 by Roja. Those are all great places to start. They are light, long lasting, and unique.

I already looked up some Maté brands online and the looks of the packages and them coming from different countries reminds me of my grandpa smoking pipe, I don't compare it to smoking, but I loved when he told me about the different tobacco's he had from that part of the world or from another with different flavors and the designs on the package. When typing this I thought this is why I love Niche perfumery too, the origin, the story behind it and the boogie bottles
The only reason I like the tobacco note is probably also because it brings back the memories of him smoking his pipe, for sure in Fan your Flames by Nishane.

I like Jubilation but the new releases like Purpose, Overture reckless leather etc are phenomenal . I like Epic , Interlude the black Iris as well as Extrait 53, Reflection and extrait . Amouage doesn’t disappoint I actually have a 45 sampler set and it’s helped a lot to figure out which one I wanted

After watching this, tonight I'm a going full veteran with Epic, although it might be wasted sitting in front of the TV with the wife. Tomorrow I'm also now tempted to wear Overture at an important meeting, but this General might just chicken out - I need this project in the bag!
I've offloaded a good few Amouages over the years and now have only four I use regularly. Reflection 45, Beach Hut, Epic and Overture (with Bracken and Sunshine in my 2nd tier drawer, just in case).
I also particularly like the sound (of the smell?) of Honour Woman and might get this for my aforementioned other half, if only to get her off the Delina bandwagon. Cheers Marcelo 👍

I’ve recently sampled some Amouage fragrances after hearing great things about that house and holy molly they are powerful and potent. Interlude 53 and Opus XIV: Royal Tobacco are my top favorites to actually buy for upcomming winter. Interlude reminds me in some ways of Terroni from Orto Parisi but not to say they are the same, The Blue Beast is called that for a reason 😅. Also Enclave was very interesting and unique take on mint and Jubilation XXV was magical. Those captured my attention the most. Great video as always, Marcelo, big love from Croatia 😁

Interlude black iris was one of my top 5. Recently got a new bottle and i believe it has been dialled back in power - this is based on a direct comparison with my 1st bottle that was around 3 years old. Lets hope they dont do that to Royal Tobacco…..
I won't list the nine Amouage I own. You didn't include two favorites of mine. I accidentally found a 50ml. tester of Epic Woman Extrait a decade ago. I put it away and forgot about it until I dug it out this year. Nobody seems to mention it anywhere. Regardless, Epic Woman variations are indeed epic. It's my favorite Amouage.

SECONDLY, related to Amouage collection, I am new to their line and I made the same mistake as You did: based on the hype and fragrance reviews, I bought sample 10ml of Amouage Interlude Black Iris (as my first decant from the line) and on the first sniff I felt as it smells as feces and nearly fainted :) (my nose was probably overwhelmed by the scent and went to 'factory settings', haha). I gave the perfume the second chance and now it is my most liked fragrance/perfume and I feel to it as You do towards Nasomatto Pardon: Interlude Black Iris is NOW me and I feel self-confident wearing it. All this was thanks to Your reviews, videos and excellent stories and comments. Thanks!!!

What’s your take on Reflection 45 Sir? I have the normal Reflection Man and like it a lot. I would love a bit more projection though. As of right now, the other Amouage I smelled, they are too complex and heavy for me 😊.

I have tried 3 Amouage fragrances: Interlude, Reflection and Enclave. Liked Enclave the most, but have trouble with the Reflection. Sometimes when i get a whiff of it, i am like "omg this is amazing" but other times " get it off me" How would you say Reflection 45 is compared to the normal Reflection?

I came back to this one in my journey to get to know more about the Amouage Woman line, which I stupidly ignored previously. There is no Hamburger pour Homme nor Steak For Woman. For a guy, you have to try (at least) Epic Woman, Overture Woman, Memoir Woman and Jubilation Woman. Forget the Woman marketing and add additional Amouage gems to your arsenal. That might be an episode idea, Hamburger pour Homme?
Totally agree with you Gerard, the bottom line is that perfume/smell is a unisex expression… there is no gender associated to this. You love what you love, regardless whether you are a man or a woman.

I thought Jubilation, Reflection, Boundless, and Beach Hut would be newbies and then Memoir would be semi-pro, but different takes which is good. I realize you were probably only using fragrances you have too rather than any Amouage.

I got seven 2ml viles to test and I liked them in this order: "Memoir Man, Jubilation XXV Man, Rose Incense, Epic Man, Beach Hut Man, Journey Man, Dia Man" on paper day 1.
"On paper" (no pun intended) Journey Man kinda screams my name. I was disappointed that it gave me baby wipe vibes on the blotter. But when I got to test it on skin it was so much better and now it's gone from second too last to like second or first. No perfume have I tried that is so different on skin rather than paper. It's really comforting to me. I don't know why.
What about Myths Man, which category does this fall into?
I really love Myths Man, when opening it smells like really burnt incense and added chrysanthemum flower note but it's so gorgeous in the next phase it becomes creamy and sweet on my skin, and I always smell this now before going to bed LoL
Great question! But not one that I'm in authority to answer 🥲 This isn't one that I have in my collection and in truth I haven't experienced either as yet! We don't get everything here in Australia and my local retailer doesn't have this one in the line up...sorry!

The vibe it gives off is straight out of an alien dimension, man. You'll feel like you've been transported to a whole other world. Hey, I'm not even exaggerating here, but let me tell you, this fragrance is ridiculously unique. Like, seriously, it's off-the-charts extraordinary!
Finding Myths Man can be a real challenge in certain countries, and it's not the easiest fragrance to use for any occasion. But Halloween? That's the perfect time to rock it! It's like experiencing a piece of abstract art that nobody else gets, only you can truly enjoy it.

I've done two fragrance blind-buys;
Amouage Overture and Orto Parisi Megamare
Now, you are calling Overture a killer. In that case, Megamare is a serial killer lol
I absolutely love Overture, but the Megamare I sold on after trying it on on two different occasions. It was way too much, and there was a very displeasing note in it.
"Danger Will Robinson!" I love that you opted to blind buy the punchiest, most polarising fragrances out there 😮
I would say, hang tight on Megamare....this one will grow on you, I promise.

Does epic man or journey mam have more incense?
To my nose, I feel that journeyman has a lot more of an incense kick. Epic man tends to be a lot more aromatic woody with an incense touch.
Overture to me smells like a smouldering camp fire on a cold dewy winters morning out bush.

Really enjoyed the video Marcello. I'm intending to go a bit deeper into the Amouages.
I have only two; Reflection man, which is one of my most worn fragrances (such an easy reach, and never boring), and Lyric Woman, which has seen a fair bit of wear of late (the vintage French style to it is truly lovely).
I found Interlude (and Black Iris) to be fantastic, but really wouldn't suit me. Will have to try out Incense Rose, and Boundless at some point.

Man, interlude like I walked out of a smokey room of incense. This is a frangence for the great grandfathers.. interlude doesn't give a mood of elegance.. the best way to explain Interlude is to think of a cigar shop environment 😢

Honestly, "Interlude" gives me earthy, Christmas, and Thanksgiving vibes, including the holidays, colors green and red, drinking eggnogs, and camping. This is a good frangence for guys who hunts in the wild and that enjoy the outdoors smells of grass, bugs, and the crackling sound of wood fires and fishing, etc
I like to pair my frangence with my aesthetic so
Here are two ways I would pair "Interlude" for men:
1) I would wear it with my Palm Angels sunglasses, modern-day oversized wide-leg blue jeans, with a slim fit white blazer
2) Use it as a car air freshener
No Jubilation XXV, cannot trust your opinions on Amouage just sayin 🙃😂 but seriously, kudos for including a couple of the Library collection even though you ignored the older ones that didn't make it to the new bottle presentation. 🥹
Amouage Incence oil; gent came into our workplace, hoowee ; the projection and sillage was awesome. I did ask him as we all liked it; he beamed as he had just purchased it. 👏🏻.Tea🫖 for me. I love Dia Man for moi 🧡
I'm certain that he did beam😎 It's always awesome when someone detects our fragrance; I know I love it😬 And the entire attar collection from Amouage is off the hook♥️
Great choice with Dia Man! This is another one that I have in the collection, but had to sideline (otherwise too many to present and the entire Mate Talk would have been 2 hours long😳)

I now find my colleagues coming closer to smell as well. A genuine compliment without an agenda really makes someone’s day… By all means Marcelo ;I’m in for a 2 hour Mate sesh ; I feel it would need more restroom breaks though 😂
