after rewatching the video several times, i think i figured out how the given message connects to the story.
yes, its true that at first connor was interested in courtney, but that was until he really got to know her during the prom (which we can assume is junior prom because if it was senior prom, none of these people would still he in school) and saw her true ugly personality. when they got back to school and homecoming season came by, connor started noticing jane and now had a choice other than courtney. he ended up going with jane since he knew how toxic and mean courtney was, showing us that even if you're pretty like courtney, people won't like you if you're mean (ugly on the inside) like her, and people would rather prefer someone nice like jane, which is why the message is "beauty is only skin deep and its whats on the inside that ultimately matters"

Jane looks so gorgeous and unrecognizable, thanks to her Aunt Vivian. Jane looks so great with blonde hair and a sparkly pink dress and I just know that Jane will become the Homecoming Queen and I hope that Jane would end up with the most popular boy in school, Connor Walsh.

Hi Totally Studios! "Beauty comes within". I think Jane is a beautifull girl and doesn't need a guy to go to prom. The only thing she needs to do is having fun. This might be me as I'm not sure if they think of the same thing. But after watching this video from a long while back, I would like to think of this lesson: "your true self is beautiful and unique inside and out. You just need support from others to help you release that inner self and be yourself around others."

This video literally teaches the exact opposite of the moral it tries to promote: which is an outdated and flawed phrasing of it to begin with, which basically makes it not even close to the moral people imagine upon hearing it.
The only reasons i find this comical are;
The entire production is so bad it seems intentionally wrong
And the entire thing literally promotes thinking only on the surface, by ironically being an example of it.
Which concerns me enough to actually comment.
I sincerely hope nobody believes anything in this video, particularly the "moral."
There are people who exist right now who probably literally lived a situation like this- being told that beauty is only skin deep and changing how they look while thinking that the phrase is a solid, correct moral, and that they're going along with it now.
It should be: Beauty is everywhere, even if we don't recognize it because of our perspectives. Even what others consider ugly is beautiful. Even people of imperfect actions have beauty.
People trying to explain complicated things in simple phrases are childish.
The sad thing is, they probably don't even know better.
Even saying "beauty is in the eye of the Beholder" is wrong. If everyone was blind, or no creatures were alive anymore, everything would still be beautiful. Even empty, black space is beautiful. So many beautiful things are not even witnessed, or are very alone.
It's disgusting and sad to me that some people actively try to push beautiful things away, or make them die out, or change them "for the better," because they don't see the beauty in something.

I went with my friends to my Senior Prom and we made school history of being the first Senior Class in Texarkana, Texas to have prom at the new Texarkana, Texas Convention Center when it was established in 2014!
