OMG these guys are super talented with a ton of hits! They started in 1970 and still tour some of their greatest songs are Rich Girl, Sara Smile, She's Gone, Private Eyes, I Cant Go For That, OutOf Touch etc...
Anton, the blonde singer is Daryll. They had tons of hits back in the day, “Kiss on my list” is my absolute favourite. Daryll went solo at some point, he had a wonderful hit with “Stop loving me, stop loving you”.
@@andreshernandez1180 Ha ha! My apologies. I was typing quickly on the phone before! I have also heard them say the song could be about living in NYC in the 80s, so who knows? I love the song and the group. They are my favorite! 😘
Blond - Daryl Hall "We Are The Word" by USA For Africa (Official Video) will give you a whole list of artists to react to if you will do it. One of the featured artists was Daryl Hall.
**lifts up the rock Anton has been living under** 😁😉 "Jingle Bell Rock" is simply a popular Christmas tune that has been covered by hundreds or thousands of people. I doubt you or I have ever heard Hall & Oates version. Daryl Hall is the singer. Hall & Oates were considerably before your time, so I'm not surprised that you hadn't heard of them and didn't recognize this song.
Of all their famous songs, this is probably one I like least. They have so many amazing songs. I would start with Sara Smile, I Can't Go For That, Rich Girl so many choices. They called them Blue Eyed Soul for a reason.
You said you wanted to hear John Oates" voice. In 1980, on their Voices album, they did a cover of The Righteous Brothers' song, You Lost That Loving Feeling. Throughout their albums John does have solos. He also put out several solo albums. His most recent is from 2018 called Arkansas. He also put out his memoirs, Change Of Season. ua-cam.com/video/SXX5OtJJWDo/v-deo.html
They actually wrote this song with a double meaning. It could be about a woman, but mostly it was about the materialism of New York City in the 80's. They had hits since the 70's and even into the early 2000's. The rabbit hole is worthy of a peek.
Yes everyone does know about this song and it's very famous. This duo is much more well known and successful than Savage Garden ever was. This is Hall and Oats. One of the most successful groups in history. You'd have to have been living under a rock to have never heard this, even if you weren't born when it came out.
You are reacting to so many great songs that are the soundtrack of my late-teen early adult years; like this one, my senior year of H.S. They really trigger some great nostalgia for me. I have many of these songs on my 70's and 80's playlists, and just realized I don't listen to them often enough 🤗. Thanks for another great reaction!
It's called philby soul or blue eyed soul (which daryl hall hates by the way). They grew up in philby in the 50s and 60s listening to the sound of philby.
Came across your channel by accident. Born at the very start of the 80s I'm loving your reactions to the songs and look forward to seeing all the other reactions. I'd love for a reaction to Billy Idol, or even UB40
I was born in the 80s and this is still the only song I think of when I hear the term “maneater” (sorry Nelly Furtado😂). Plus that haunting sax solo is classic 👌
I must have been living under the rock too based on the below comments. I’ve only ever heard this one song by them. Classic 80s tune. Edit - just looked them up. I apparently know two others, but out of touch was covered in the 00s and you make my dreams was in The Wedding Singer movie.
Ya I have noticed some people occasionally take offence to someone not knowing much about their favorite artist, or just that someone can have such a different cultural experience than them (in fairness though many reactors lie about not knowing things so its justified to a degree). The only problem is sometimes it comes across as condescending. And I have never seen the wedding singer actually but its on my list!

I think they're still the best-selling duo of all time. Hall was lead vocal on most of their stuff, but Oates is featured on some.

Not a prostitute. Just a worldly women. A user. Songs to check out:
I Can’t Go For That (No Can Do)
Out Of Touch
Say It Isn’t So
Wow, nice wording, you can make a 💩 sound like something to remember someone by LOL

Yes! These guys have literal stacks of hits!
Just like The Clintons LOL

Hall and Oates are the most successful and biggest selling duo of all time in the USA. Also has the most top 10s of any duo ever
My favorite Hall and Oates song is I Can't Go for That (No Can Do). I'm a sucker for a song with parentheses.
Of all their famous songs, this is probably one I like least. They have so many amazing songs. I would start with Sara Smile, I Can't Go For That, Rich Girl so many choices. They called them Blue Eyed Soul for a reason.
Great reaction... my fave track is Out Of Touch its amazing also featured on Grand Theft Auto Flash FM 🙂
Darryl Hall is the sound of Hall and Oates. John Oates does more background vocals.
Good reaction, react to ‘Say it isn’t so’, most people react to many other of their songs a lot but not that one.

Another Hall & Oates you might want to check out is _Family Man_ - not as well known as _Maneater,_ but a great song with thoughtful lyrics.

Ya they never played them on the radio here in Canada (or at least where I am from).
@@antonreacts maybe when you were younger and don’t remember or never got to catch one of their songs, they were really big.
@@antonreacts Made number 4 on the Canadian charts. "I can't go for that" is there biggest hit in Canada.. 26 top 40 songs there.
Dude, your reactions are pure joy! Maybe you could react to The Talking heads sometimes?
Finally, this tune is mint 👊🏻
Can’t stand talking through the lyrics. Obviously not listening. Please pause when talking, it’s only considerate. 😏

This is my favorite H&O song. Adult Education runs a close second.
Hmm, to have a female literally chew me death is an interesting proposition. She would have to be worthy of me though.
Your commentary is ruining everything, just sit back and enjoy the greatness of this song.
Savage Garden??.....not even in the same league as Hall and Oats
You'd hear more if you'd shut up during the song. Sad

For years, listening to North American’s talking about Hall and Oates, I thought it was a cereal brand 😂
Sara Smile, She’s Gone. 2 must listen to.
This is the kind of song that if you don't know your dad definitely does.
You need to listen to she's gone or possession obsession
that sax though .....semoooooth
great tune, they had some good tunes
❤🔥
Love this song
Blue Eyed Soul

CLASSIC!
They were a great group. Lots of hits.
How about Tim Cappello - I still believe
