- ~ I played with sampling on the Electribe. Enjoy! ~
for the synth and Electribe geeks:
Lofi kick - sampled from a random downpitched trumpet sample
Chord stabs - sampled from acoustic piano
Random glitchy samples and cowbell melody on the top
on the kaosspad I set the amount of Wet Reverb.
Slightly mastered in Ableton.

This track shows that once you've mastered the Electribe, its quite powerful and expressive, if you're expressive with it! I've owned mine for about a year, am growing into it. I have thought of selling it, but then I would waste all that learning! The other thing is, only the Elektron model: samples has as many knobs, but its not built like a tank, and no battery power (ok, you can use a ripcord and a powerbank, but its not quite as neat and self contained).

Nice I always struggle making full songs on GR-16 (it's like a clone of the electribe) I think I just need to use more pads and stop thinking so much!

I just looked up what the GR-16, its a iPad app, looks pretty similar to the Electribe. I was into Beatmaker 3 before the Electribe (still use it sometimes) but I prefer the real pads and knobs personally!

Very cool! I've Roland MC-101 and while it tiny powerhouse with great sounds bank and features (pretty much the same as big MC-707) it has only 4 tracks and hasn't song mode. Making full song it's very challenging. Also sound design almost not exist. So I thinking about buying Electribe. Used is quite inexpensive, it has 16 tracks, song mode (not sure) and impressive sound design. Im only not sure if I need sample version or standard and Electribe 1 or 2.... MC-101 can handle sample in chromatic mode, can record sample via USB but I almost don't use samples and prefer synth base music. However with grooveboxes you never know when you need use sample. What would you recommend for me ? Electribe 1 or 2 ? There is no much difference for what I heard ? Does limited synth features on Sample version vs standard make huge difference for you ?
I had only the Electribe 2 Sampler. I don't know lot about standard Electribe 2, but if you prefer synth based music you will like the standard Electribe 2 I think, it has more synth functions.
