I LOVE THIS FORMAT!!! Great idea to show the whole process gradually. Its entertaining, educational, and also more content for the channel I'm currently have the same training , thoo in my region is still 7°c water. I been doing ice baths for about a 1,5 months and its been a game changer to my running progress and recovery. In December I will run the toughest winter 100 mile race in Russia. Man I missed your videos! Enjoyed every bit of it! As always great shots, editing and humor!
I love the idea of having these multiple seasons! Can't wait to see what you do / how you accomplish this. I'm training for my first marathon (takes place in Dec) and you constantly remind me to hold on to the joy!
Discovered the channel about two weeks ago. Wow I’m hooked. Went back and watched 3 year old videos to now. Wow your content has grown and improved! Keep it up - a new very loyal subscriber
That's an interesting one. I used to dive into cold water too. During aproximately 4 months. The coldest temperature was -20 C. And the most funny things that I got naked before checkign the hole, and it apeared to be frozen so I needed to break it and it took like 2 minutes, and then I dove there. I would better avoid doing this. Cause I froze so much that I barely maneged to get my dress on. My hands just stopped fuctioning at all)))
I just love this channel. Jonne is an average dude who has become really fit and with a passion for challenging himself. No former navy seal or olympic athlete, just a guy with a passion!
Thanks! :) The symbols refer to "t minus". It tells how many days I have until the event (in this case, the ice swim). So T-57 would mean I have 57 days until the event.
Wow, this is extreme. I try to stay in the cold barrel at the gym (6-8 degrees C) for 2-3 minutes and always panic a bit when my toes become numb. It's freaking scary. Will try to do some ice swimming in Kuusijärvi in December. Cheers from Helsinki! Great to see the channel growing!
Amazing Video as always! I do have to say I would like to see a tutorial how you build your icebath and how you are maintaining it? Keep up the amazing work!
My toes are curling up watching this in my warm bed. Looking forward to this series and seeing the progression. Maybe Ross Edgley will come and train with you - yay would be a cool collab.
It probably helps that you're Finnish, but I can't imagine even dipping my toes in ice cold water, let alone swimming 500 meters. Good luck with this challenge, you'll need it, haha!
I’m so happy you’re taking this approach! It’s very refreshing, because the trend of 30 day challenges aren’t exactly ideal lol I just recently did my first ultra cycling trip with very minimal training and learned quickly of all the things I could’ve avoided if I’d just taken smaller steps/goals. It was still a wonderful trip though! luckily I didn’t have any injuries, just slight cyclist palsy in my left hand. Keep it up man👏
😂 For sure very unlazy indeed. Big props, what a challenge, take your time mate and look forward to the real swim. Stay safe, cheers from Germany and have a great week
HAHA Its sooo hard! My goal for this season is 10min proper Freestyle swim (for me the hardest part is swimming with head under water). I probobly have around 4-6week for it because soon it will be -20 here in canada and all the lakes are gonna freeeze..
Also, have you tried going zero drop with your trainers… 5 years ago I always had knee pain, almost injured but switching to zero drop, no more knee issues..
please don't die, man. Ice mile is an insane challenge. Most of the ice swims are around 400m. Making it 4 times longer is nuts. Unless you can beat it in 15 mins, which requires a pro level of swimming.
Extremely brutal to swim in less than 5 degrees! I do swim in less than 20 degrees since it's cold in India, and i get sick pretty quick because of that!
@@fighterinmkiwiscience3517 Kona is a small city in Hawaii and he was recently there covering the Ironman World Championship. It was probably 32-35C there, and now swimming in a frozen lake.
You should probably clarify what equipment you're doing this with/without. Doing it in a dry suit would be no bit deal, doing it in the nip is a whole different kettle of frozen fish
Wim shared all the necessary knowledge in his book. His programs are more for the live experience and retreat. I would love to hike with wim to mount Kilimanjaro
Please try the Wim Hof breathing technique and let us all know if it's a scam 😁 If it works, it will help with the cold tolerance. Either way, we learn something. Cheers!
@@degcrip7320 Yeah, i am aware of the Wim Hof method via youtube and other channels. I am generally a sceptic and its a cool way (pun intended) to verify the claims. The Unlazy Way handles extreme cold very well, and i am keen to see how it will assist further.
This is your body letting you know of your future training regime=) The podcast world is filled with broken runners taking a new approach to training later on in life and regretting the past, the knees and back can only take so much before they run out... Totally cool that you’re making it a long project/series! Can’t wait to watch it all :)
🥳✌️ appreciate it!
Loved it. The relaxation that you show while being in cold water hurts my eyes. No screaming, no drama, nothing. Great video again. :)
Go to doctor
Liking in advance. this guy never dissapoints

Smashing video Jonne!!!! A great challenge and looking forward to the series a lot.

thank yooou 🥶!
This series is already awesome.
So glad I discovered your channel! I’ve binge watched most of your videos and am so impressed! 🤙💪🔥
Great message on long goals. I held a run streak for over a year and its my proudest achievement
Love the longer term goals through seasons concept! I look forward to watching the seasons!

Really like the new approach, buddy! don't die, please! And coming from a Brazilian: what you're doing is already intense enough!!

awesome, thank you!
let me join the crowd who loves the rebellion of the longer format, and cheer you for this! great work as usual, all the best!
Perfect challenge for Finnish guy🥶 What does these symbols (T-57 or T-297) mean?
Thanks! :) The symbols refer to "t minus". It tells how many days I have until the event (in this case, the ice swim). So T-57 would mean I have 57 days until the event.

I've discovered your channel today. Best find in a while, you are an amazing content creator!

You should definitly check out Burghausen in bavaria germany for your challenge😌 we have our ice arena in a lake for ice swimming

Respect! And good luck with the challenge! I hope you succeed!
I appreciate it! :)
You cannot fathom how cold that is until you have tried it. You make it look way too easy!
Yeep, and it's funny how "warm" the water can look in a video :D
You need to look into Wim Hof and Ross Edgley, they may be able to help.
"My body hasn't adapted to the cold yet"... says casually while having just gotten out of frozen lake
:DD
if this man meets wim hof he will be unstoppable
Maybe read the books of Wim Hof and search for a trainer nearby for the Wim Hof method to also learn the breathing.
You are an absolute warrior of man
"You see, Mr. Powers, I like COOOOOOLLLDD".
Was wondering why that accent sounded familiar.
Try whimhoff it works wonder
I am cold just looking at you

Hey you should join us for the Nordic ice swimming championship in february. It's in the north of Sweden, Skellefteå!
Letsgooooo missed your uploads
You should do a interviews with Anders Hofman or/and Wim Hof. Both people with amazing achievments in freezing cold.
Wim Hof would probably approve. You might look into his breathing techniques, they are on UA-cam.
How well does that ice chest work as a ice bath? This interests me greatly.
So good!
You should probably clarify what equipment you're doing this with/without. Doing it in a dry suit would be no bit deal, doing it in the nip is a whole different kettle of frozen fish
Climbing inside a chest freezer full of water... that is plugged into mains electricity... and that you sealed yourself.... please try not to die
I keep the ice bath unplugged when I take a bath :)
Uhm, right! Amazing man! Meanwhile I started my first water confidence prep in a 23 degrees pool and was shaking from a cold after 30 mins. 😅🫣
impresive
well done
im 14 and im gonna run a half marathon in january, is there any gear i need like a backpack for it?
Bro, please tell me that you have wen through all Wim Hof training that he has before doing this ? ( I am assuming you did)
Wim shared all the necessary knowledge in his book. His programs are more for the live experience and retreat.
I would love to hike with wim to mount Kilimanjaro
Exposing your body to extreme cold and the cortisol/huge stress your body produces from it. Is it a positive outcome for a human?
please make the videos 8min to put more ads it's painful to see 7:30
Very impressive!
I really enjoy your videos! Keep up the good work and last but not least taking care of yourself!
HUUGE fan of the rebellion approach!
hahha, rebellion wohoo!!
Cool I just started the same
Hell yeah! Awesome challange I´m in:D I did 500m last year, let´s try the mile this year😄
Love the content

I wonder if cold baths are for everyone. I tried that, but my ankles, feet hurt so much, I couldn't stand it! And that part of my body only.
Watching this whilst in a HOT bath. Confusing the mind.
