Fun Fact: Pirates of the Caribbean was a Monkey Island film during development before Disney bought the project out. Why else do you think it involves a young aspiring man searches for the daughter of a governor who was kidnapped by a zombie pirate?
There was a Monkey Island film early in production around that time, but I don’t think Disney had anything to do with it. The project was canned because the script was, quote, “shit.”
This was taken by virginia company from 1850's song and that song was made in 1770's in poetic song books. It even got a history in it!!! I love monkey island :D

Origin for the MI series is not related to PoC, but the developer responsible for creating the world and characters was indeed influenced by the Disneyland ride.
teutonieth Gilbert went on to say that his inspiration for the Monkey Island series instead came from Tim Powers' On Stranger Tides, "Some people believe the inspiration for Monkey Island came from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride - probably because I said it several times during interviews - but that was really just for the ambiance. If you read this book you can really see where Guybrush and LeChuck were plagiarized derived from, plus the heavy influence of voodoo in the game."
Sure, not really news to an MI fan like myself though. I just made a safe, and true, claim about the original inspiration, point being that the both works had a mutual offset.
its really hard to listen to this music and not imagine a drunk pirate spinning in an anchor
Have to wonder how he got up there
@@cheekyegg probably a lot of grog have something with it...
Irs hard to listen to this not drunk.
You fight like a dairy farmer!

Lol!! Great game
Hey i said that!!
It is said that the spinning pirate is still spinning to this day
You were right. He’s still spinning on it in the Sea of Thieves Monkey Island expansion
I found a forum on the internet having the spinning pirate as a gif in loop... i cant remember the name of the website.

He is out of line but he is right.

Akschually, it's the other way around. MI was inspired by the Disneyland ride. Hence the similarities.
Now, THIS is the proper bar music for a mighty pirate.
Bring on the grog and the slab of meat. :)
Sir, I regret to inform you that we’re fresh out if meat slabs, but I can offer you some red herring...
Not THIS, the original CD version. This sounds like its silly uncool cousin.

That spinning pirate, haha, I wish there was a option to spin with him, hahah. :P
Big fan of the original having grew up with the games but this updated version has grown on me- it has it's own mesmerising and quirky style.
Cant get sick of this tune!
After all this time, Monkey Island came back into sea of thieves even better.
Has, time already collapsed?
Why can’t I find any comments about Albert, the Unfindable Crab?
He hasn't been found yet.
@@LilacShowers I, thought he was just behind the pale?

The landlord, he looks very big
With his high cock'd hat and his powder'd wig
Methinks he looks both fair and fat
Yet he may thank you and I for that
For 'tis, o, good ale, thou art my darling
And me joy both night and morning
The brewer brew'd thee in his pan
And the tapster draw'd thee in his can
So now, with thee I'll play my part
And lodge thee next onto my heart
For 'tis ,o, good ale, thou art my darling
And me joy both night and morning
But if my wife should thee despise
By Jove, I'd bang out both her eyes
But if she loves me as I love thee
A happy couple we shall be
For 'tis, o, good ale, thou art my darling
And me joy both night and morning
Now oft hast made my friends my foes
And often made me pawn my clothes
But since thou art so near my nose
Come up my friend and down he goes
For 'tis ,o, good ale, thou art my darling
And me joy both night and morning

How did you get the soundtrack? I didn't know they released it.
Grog, basically acid? Can you imagine what that does to a pirate's insides? What happened to just straight rum?
Sure, not really news to an MI fan like myself though. I just made a safe, and true, claim about the original inspiration, point being that the both works had a mutual offset.
