Zizek is still my favorite author, 10-years later. Reading "wired brain" now. Page 7: "the Event as a miraculous intrusion." As an American, watching the 2020 election play out, wondering: Was the Trump 2016 win an "Event"? Meaning, everyone was so sure it wasn't going to happen. Now, who knows... but since then many, many of my friends, colleagues, etc. are starting to ask bigger questions, regardless of party lines. Yes, I like the Don (and assume both sides are the mafia, in a sense), but the "crack in the real" of American/Global politics has shown us via the Don "a sign we have touched the real," in all of its dimensions...
