- Why does hip hop hate Logic? What is it about Logic that people just don't like? Is it Logic's positive attitude and happy persona that turns people off? In this video I go over the top three reasons as to why an artist like Logic gets so much unnecessary hate.
In this series I look at different rappers and try to find out the reason as to WHY they get hate from people. In this episode we're looking at Logic.

Davin Ferrera okay , I've been listening logic since way before the fame. His mixtapes had originality to it. I remember getting multiple friends on to his music because of that but he does talk about being biracial too much. Under pressure was his best studio album imo and I loved the story of his upbringing. After that it was like I was reminded of that in every song he made. Everybody was just executed badly and most of his bars after stardom has been kind of lacking. I love logic but people that like him have to admit that regardless of if he's their favorite rapper.

One comment I've seen come up a lot is that he's "white," and the fact that he has a black parent doesn't matter, because he "looks white so he is white." So if he talks about being biracial he's supposedly "fronting"...he's trying to seem black in order to be more popular in the hip hope world, when he's "not black." I think that's ridiculous. If he was just calling himself a white man people would be hating on him for denying that he is also of African descent, and they'd say he's ashamed of his heritage and trying to "pass." In other words, he's not white enough to be white and too white to be black. I think that's a horrible burden to put on a human being who is just trying to live his life in the world. If you like his music fine, if you don't fine, but judging him on his racial heritage is so 1950s it's laughable and sad.

I feel like people only think he's corny because he's postive, I've seen people say the same thing about Kyle too. I was honestly shocked how the media viewed logics new album. It was number 1 on the charts for a while yet so much fucking backlash. People getting mad cause he talks about his race, and politic, and his view on the world. I loved his work but i grew angry how the media portrayed how he was. Ive been with him since the young sinatra mixtapes and this was finally his time to show the world who he truly is. I should have known this world is built on hatred of others.

I remember seeing the Joe Budden thing a while ago. That shit pissed me off. He's a big figure, and for him to get his facts wrong not only made him look bad, but made Logic look bad.

If you listen to the entirety of the album, Logic raps about quite a few different things. In Killing Spree, he talks about social media and it's influence on society. In 1-800-273-8255, Logic raps and sings from the perspective of a suicidal individual, and a phone operator of the Suicide Prevention Lifeline. In Anziety, Logic literally raps from the perspective of personified anxiety, and then proceeds to shed light on his dreadful experience with anxiety. He does speak on race quite a bit on the album, but the whole album is most certainly not about him being black and him being white.
It's also important to highlight that Logic is indeed biracial, and that there are exclusive struggles that come along with that. He's never been *this* vocal about these issues before, which is a good thing, honestly.
Joe Budden made a legitimate mistake saying that Logic has had whole albums about his race. Joe Budden is still somewhat credible, but this mistake made a lot of people turn their heads away from him.

Logic is an exceptional rapper, he's not like most rappers nowadays, he has meaning behind his songs, he raps perfectly, not mumble, he is an amazing person in general and always tries to do the best shit for his fans.

I like Logics personality. He's very positive and doesn't try to be something he isn't. He doesn't wear flashy clothes on stage and he let's a fan on stage every once in a while.
The problem with Logic is how his music quality has degraded over time. I use to love Logic. In fact Welcome to Forever is possibly my favorite mixtape of all time. It has great samples, good lyrics, and is very creative with each track being fun and distinct. Logic use to not try very hard and just make fun music and I think he did a great job with it. Now he is just way too try hard with every song needing some kind of message or story or 3 minute interlude. Just rap man and make the good ole music like the Young Sinatra days. You can't listen to his old music and then play his newest two albums and say his new stuff is better. As a long time Logic fan I hate to say it but I really don't care for his music anymore. It's bland, boring, and too preachy. Get back to the basics Logics, your OG 2012 fans will appreciate it greatly.

I respectfully disagree at-least about the replay value. Sure his new stuff is more real but I don't listen to rap to get preached about important topics. If i wanted that I'll go to my professors, listen to the news, or go to church lol. But everyone has their own opinion and tastes and I respect your preferences. BlackySpeakz I do agree with the reasons, but the last is probably the most true. ppl think Logic is corney beacause he isn't the "stereotypical Rapper". But Real recognize real @ the end of the day. If you spit some real shit, either ppl f with it or they think it's trash. Logic is one of the few artist whose a straight shooter, and ain't with the craziness of what Hip hop has become. It all comes down to, do you make dope music and do your fans like it.

Personally, I love it when he samples older songs from the 90s to 2005 cause he's giving reference to some of the best artist's in the game at their time. He has quoted " visualizing my life in actuality" so many times and I love it. I think it's great and we get to expreince the music and things he would have while growing up.

He's the best in the game today . I don't say that lightly either .. not best ever (yet) cause that's subjective and very hard to determine because of many many factors . They say these kinds of things cause yeah he's not "like most" rappers . Especially ones today .. but the fact of the matter is the dude is young , one of the most (if not the most ) intelligent hip hop artist out there today , and very very humble to the past and who he is ... dude spits mad fucking bars all day and can rhyme over anyone and beat probably almost anyone in a freestyle (that's VERY subjective ) but he is just THAT creative and witty . Love this kid . Glad my buddy turned him onto me a few years back .. changed my life forever . - a 21 year old lover of hip hop music from the Midwest . Much love

I just heard about him very recently and I like him a lot. I've been watching a lot of interviews that he's had and I think what he's all about and what he' stands for is awesome. It doesn't matter what "hip hop" thinks. What matters is his fans because the fans are the ones paying to listen to his music. I'm going to be straight... I really don't like hip hop these days, I miss the hip hop when I was growing up in the 90s. That shit was awesome, so I don't listen to hip hop these days, especially when I don't know what the hell they're saying because they're mumbling their words. I can't understand them at all, maybe that's just me. Lol. I've been hearing Logics music on the radio lately and I liked it sure. But then after looking him up and finding out what he's all about, I can appreciate him as an artist and his music so much more. I think he's talented. Their is always going to be haters. He is something new; I’ve oly heard a few rappers anything like him. And I’ve heard fewer who actually have made a real impact on the community. People don’t like when other try to do something new, but it’s necessary for the artform to stay at the forefront of culture. i think he will play a large role in the continued relevance of rap culture in the mainstream
I believe in my point of view rapper Logic is a good music artist because he respects people of all races no matter who they are whether they are American, Canadian, Hong Kongers, Chinese, British, Italian, German, Korean, Black, Australian, Indian, Cuban, Japanese, Mexican or whoever and that Logic made good songs for standing up for yourself and others called One Day and Broken People. I'm happy Logic wrote those songs Broken People and One Day to show for us as humans we are all equal even though we are not perfect for the mistakes we make in our lives and that we have to treat others with respect and kindness. Go Logic he's my best favorite legend that will be a legacy in the future to remember as I am growing up.
