- More silent 8mm archive footage showing Class 40 passenger trains at Stechford on diverted West Coast Main Line services during electrification works taking place on the Trent Valley route. The film is believed to be taken in 1963.
D225 before naming! Fab pic.
Ah I watched and thought they'd be on diversion!
Great scenes!
Great. My Favourite Locomotives. Roger 😎
Wow 😮 excellent film 🎥 Never seen videos of those 40’s before they were named, must have been very early 1960’s. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
And not a yellow warning panel in sight. Which is good because it gives us the chance to see these EE Type 4's in totally original colours .
Would say early 60s on diversion whilst the WCML electrification was taking place southwards along the Trent Valley line from Stafford to Rugby.
As someone who grew up about 15 minutes walk from Stetchford station, this is absolutely fantastic to watch. Many, many thanks, John.
Glad you enjoyed it
Cracking footage!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ video 👍👍😎👍
Very good!
Thanks!
Nice very early film some of those filmed later recieved names
Cracking early film of class 40s, pre-naming, on Trent V services diverted via Grand Junction line. Any more?!
Plenty. Stay tuned
Great video. Are the trains taking and leaving the line that comes out at Aston station?
I believe so
