I really like your pussycat. Always be kind to your animals. My critters all come to our cabin with us.even our turtle that we saved almost 7 years ago. He was no bigger than a quarter. 😊 God bless.
I respect a guy that feeds his animals before he feeds himself, another great video!
Looks awesome ! Also thanks for giving the lil cat a slice of that pork chop !
Sometimes old school is the best school! Like the old design made new. Appreciate you.
I respect you going the extra mile to make quality products available to your viewers. Sorry again to hear about the haters
Dave I love watching you again, way back, you were the best part of Dual Survivor.
Anyway I love that you're sharing with your kitty ❤ ... you look GOOD and I'm glad you're still out there.
Nice stove have to look into it.
David, thanks for showcasing this stove, I have been looking for it for a couple of months! I just ordered this stove. Keep up the great content!
Thank for posting this. Had heard Winnerwell was releasing their new cast iron stove this week. Glad to see it’s now available.
For those who may not be familiar with this hinged top kerosene style lamp / stove, it’s actually what our forefathers used to heat the old cast clothing irons before electricity. These little heaters were portable and more convenient than heating irons on top of wood stoves. Kind of neat to see the old school appliances reimagined to be functional again today. I bet these will become a big seller for Winnerwell.👍
Beautiful mini iron stove. It's like taking the wood stove out of the house and shrinking it to fit in or on a backpack for camping. It appears they didn't offer any lid/ cover to tap the smoke and heat and moisture while cooking food such as a makeshift Dutch oven. But perhaps just as you showcased yourself using a frying pan instead. I probably world prefer a perfect fit to seal in the moisture and add some small wood chips that are pre soaked in water for smoking and flavor. And also could add a tiny food rack to make an even smoke flavor if you wanted to go that route. But overall looks really cool and very versatile.
I've actually been looking at that. I was wondering how it would work as a heater inside a van, for us van nomads
Looks pretty bad ass Dave, loved watching you on duel survivor you’re one of my idols man.
That’s a badass cat, my cat tigger is loyal just like yours. Watches me do everything and follows me around the house. Your kitty has manors, he patiently waited for you to cut him a slice of that pork chop. 😎❤
Man that stove is awesome thanks for the informative demo! Gotta love love the steak as part of the demo thats will definitely seal the deal
Mr,Canterbury. You are such an awesome inspiration with what you are doing!! I have kinda stopped watching Mr,Kelly. Anyway keep up the awesome work 👌
I love that cat! Our cat eats only cat food and only one brand and one flavor but he does talk to us 😂
Paraffin lamp oil is a clean odorless burn in these little sad iron stoves. Way nicer to use them that way instead of kerosene or diesel. It's great to have the option though.
JUST WOW! I don't know how I missed this!
Love all of your stuff and looking forward to seeing you again in May. Wondering when you will be releasing the batwing top cup for the canteen cook set and 10 inch plates. See you at the OSS Boot Camp / Pathfinder gathering in May. God bless and be well brother, as always you are appreciated.
This man is correct about how to feed a cat; no supermarket 'pouch wet food' or 'nibbles' will shorten your cat's life, but it needs meat, in small amounts, three or even five times a day. My cats live to be 18 to 20 years old. This was a sound demonstration of this stove, although it is expensive.
Hi David. Awsome video. My family heats 100 percent wood heat at our Pennsylvania home. And our cabin in northern Maine. Almost at border with Canada. I'm retiring there. It's off grid and remote. I spent 18 years in Alaska. I have 51/2 years to go. I can't wait to run a real trap line. I've seen pine martin and Fisher right at the cabin. Also Canada lynx.
Thank you for the code David. Mine arrived arrived promptly yesterday and I packed it out last night. To my surprise, I was expecting it to have glass windows, but they are made of something called mica. They do not seem to be sturdy, but I guess I will find out. 😻
Those were originally heaters for irons to iron clothing.
Pretty slick stove. Mini stoves seem to be making a resurgence. Thanks Dave. Appreciate you.
I have seen those on youtube, those are so nice, very old school , love it. Thanks dave for that discount !
Talk about old school cool! Thanks, Dave.
Thanks Dave. That is right up my alley.
Thanks Dave, just ordered mine. I had been looking at these but they were a little pricey. But with your $35 discount and also if you buy now you get 100 and something dollars worth of accessories for free. Definitely makes it worthwhile now.😊
Thank you very much for the great vidoes, very cool information and products.
Ty Dave, nice looking stove
Thanks Dave
Well !! How cool is that! Thanks Dave.
I’ve seen these before. Didn’t l know they are still made. Pretty cool deal.
What a beautiful stove! I think I know what my early Christmas present is going to be! Thanks for sharing!
Great😊thanks. You friend likes your cooking 😊
Looks like a fun stove!
I definitely want one of those. I use kerosene alot for heat supplement in my home and I think that little stove would be very useful. Keep up the good work and God bless.
I'm starting to see this stove around the UA-cam community. It will be fine to see more stats and tests.
Good old fashioned technology, when i was young, my grand father prepared food on a similar style kerosene heater / burner. kept us warm in the mornings.
Hi Dave... if you’d like to do an experiment/comparison... next time try “Ultra Pure Paraffin Oil” in your iron stove. I get mine at Hobby Lobby. It burns a lot cleaner, with no odor. I have a couple antique sad iron stoves. They produce plenty of heat to cook food, boil water or heat a shelter (with ventilation, of course). I’m glad to see someone reproducing this classic stove! 👍🏻
So odd I can't think of a time or place I would use this over something else. Looks cool and worth collecting maybe.
I love that Zahn is always around to help out. Keep the vids flowing Dave I'm loving it. I'm looking for hunting and vehicle Paracord project videos 😅
Very cool wish had some way get the smoke put so it could be used for heat in a small tent .
That thing looks awesome! If it takes alternative fuel sources like tallow or lard that would be awesome. Just that alone though being able to run on kerosine or diesel makes it plenty easy to find fuel for and it looks classic and sturdy!
Nice looking stove.
Those are great little stoves brother
Cats are best quality checkers ! Real men likes cats, because they are hunters, self suficient . Really appreciate that you don t surround yourself with dogs, only to get more views and likes.
I like it 👍i want one. if it's made in China I'll pass
Winnerwell make good stuff, this type of stove is definitely on my shopping list!
Thanks dave
Hey thought I’d let you know the discount code doesn’t work for the bundle. Thought I’d try it when it came back in stock, but no luck.. all the best, Chris
Dave, it’s 35$ off with your code, not 35%. Just so you know.
Awesome stove! Thanks for selling me another stove. I love when you sell me things Mr Canterbury.
😅
I like it. Thanks Dave
@DavidCanterbury
I absolutely enjoy watching you’re videos. I’m no survivalist expert for sure, but I think I could hold my own. I watch your videos and the corporals videos, have been for a few years now. And I’ve bought a few items from the SRO store as well. Everything I’ve bought from you guys has been top quality and no complaints whatsoever.
This little heater looks like it could come in pretty handy in certain situations, but I’m not so sure I’d be willing to cook food on it. I know you were tasting kerosene flavor on that chop because I could see the soot coming off that stove and wrapping around the cast iron and onto the food.
I think if I bought it I’d use it as a heater only. I have no doubt it’d be great for that. But being a journeyman diesel mechanic, I think I’ve eaten my fair share of soot, so cooking on that stove is a hard pass. Just being honest here. Besides, there are so many better ways to cook food at our disposal than that.
Don't get excited I really like the stove in this video as well!! Unfortunately Winterwell wants $380 for this!! not worth it not even close to worth it!! thats with the discount.
That looks a great stove Dave.
How would it be in a confined area like a small cabin? I guess you would need good ventilation?
👍👍
That little thing is cool 😎
S A D stove for heating clothes irons ( flat iron )
I’ve restored a few old originals bought from eBay.
The way it's designed it looks like it would work well in windy conditions. Has anyone tried one on a windy day? I'm am very interested in getting one.
That stove is awesome. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Use olive oil for fuel for no soot cooking. @Dave Canterbury.
Dave, love this! How many btu.. well, how would this work as a heat source? (Back up or camping)
that thing is cool as heck!
Thanks for the $35 discount! It off set my shipping and a little more.
How awesome I was waiting for someone to do a review.
Can’t get any better then you Dave 👍
Thanks.
I missed the poncho deal any more hanging around stove is sweet
Thanks Dave i been seeing these they are freaking awesome i definitely been wanting one , discount code oh yeah 😎
How much heat does it put out? Wondering if it can be used inside a RV (window open). Thank You
Nice, going to check it out!
Fun lil stove but $380 is just too much lol if you got the cash and wanna have some fun go for it, it is definitely a cool piece.
Mr. Bigglesworth stole the show !
Would love to have one found out about these a month ago
omg i want one wow cool
Looks like a good product. The problem is all that black smoke that your cooking your food on. As great as this Iron Stove is, propane burns much cleaner.
Dave I want to join your tribe when the shtf !
I like the stove. Questions though. Would diesel burn a little cleaner? Is this stove something that could be used inside of a slightly ventilated tent or is it better outside?
A real CAT Lover, bless ya.
I want to know how well does in a tent for heat let me know ty😮
going to try and save up for one
That's a beauty
The modern diesel is ultra-low sulfur and would smoke less than kerosene. That looks well made.
I do like the design, old school technology, that I never saw before. But heavy, not something you carry very far
A GREAT LITTLE STOVE BUT HERE IN CANADA AMAZON $1,003.00??!!
Can you use white gas in this stove.
Bad ass Dave! Like it👍🏽
Great video buddy
My front porch is enclosed with sliding glass doors. Could I use this out there if I opened the glass doors and just left the screens closed?
How long does it take to make a steak
😘😘😘😘 i wish i can buy it
Very cool
wow, thats a nice stove❗💯🏆
Interesting how they’re out of all the big wood burning stoves and this is all they have to sell.
That thing is sweet
Definitely not an indoor stove. I do like the quality of winnerwell products.
Nice 👍👍
I think if people understood cast iron manufacturing, shipping, and selling low volume specialty items they would actually be losing their mind at how cheap this is. It is a fun toy for people who want it. It is in no way a practical choice but it is practical enough to pretend its not just a well made toy. Anyone who needs permission to buy one has my full support.
Excellent. Thanks, Mr. C! Seems a Good design. I've been impressed with Winnerwell WOODSTOVE designs.
Just wondering if this stove can be used for heating a tent, or only for cooking outside.
One thing to consider - With so many chaotic disruptions these days, having some alternative means of cooking meals and heating water, even in small quantities, makes a lot of sense. Rocket stoves can be assembled from a few Cinder Blocks.
It's a good time to familiarize yourself with some back-up options.
Does that handle work as a bottle opener also?
Nifty item.
How do you keep the glass from smoking up?
