All-time fave band. Metal guitarist of 30 years, and when I heard these guys for the first time, I ditched my Metallica tabs, went back to the conservatory to study more music theory and changed my style to something closer to this. I grew up listening to and playing Classical music and it's in the details here; the compositions have very many Baroque/early Classical compositional techniques and harmonies. Never heard anything quite like it (yes I've heard plenty of Neo-Classical rock) and the vampire theme adds a cool dark touch.
Oh yeah and they have ten albums if you include all the regular albums, live albums, EP's, and compilations ( thats not including the singer's ( Kamijo) solo works or rerecordings of Versailles material or Hizaki's stuff...or the Jupiter stuff)
Hey Miss Althea! This is Alex again ( the one from the last Versailles video)...I will say that I have one upcoming Versailles request through Shane that will blow your mind...think of X-Japan's Art of Life but nowhere near as long...but just as epic! You'll see a lot of the influences ( and no it's nothing like revenant choir either (silent jealousy 2.0))...I won't ruin the surprise though!
Oh yeah, Miss Althea, I forgot to ask...have you ever listened to Malice Mizer? Reallllllly weird Visual Kei band but very influential...just started to get into a little of their stuff lately
@@ratt8745 I know OF them but have not checked out any of their material. hide and X Japan have brought so much insanity into my life that I get afraid of getting stuck in another rabbit hole! My VK/J-Rock scope is very narrow.....
Kind of cool but the mix is way off in my opinion and the lead singer sounds like a Muppet with a cold, but it is very BabyMetal with some triumphant power guitars, but I already kind of forget the tune after hearing it once.

Love them, epic music, epic look
Thanks again Shane!! And no I'm not the fanclub president but I probably should be! Hahaha - Alex C.

The strange major lift with the type o negative shift. Without anything that sounds like type o. Just the Dracula blood thing.
Entertaining
Another one to try is. “Meytal Shadow in Disguise.” Beautiful Drummer in the video.
What We Do In the Shadows meets Tim Burton meets X Japan. In 1991. I need some garlic and a make-up and hair tutorial from Hizaki, apparently......
