I remember my sisters first car.. a 66' fury 4 door.. and when I got my license, it snowed for the first time in 10 years in Lancaster and of course I didn't clear the windows and of course wound up cutting off... a cop, only the meanest sob cop, I worked with his wife at the Budweiser distributor .. this was back when cops could beat you and you let them... because it was normal.. ish. Too funny
More lucky!!! Dude you are the best personality out of the whole crew, and that's saying alot, everyone is rad but your a notch above the best. Keep it up dude.
Good upgrade Lucky. Can't wait to see how it performs when back together. Your wagon in badass! I parted out a '66 Fury sedan when I originally rodded my Studebaker truck. I ran the Poly 318, 727 with shift kit, and 8 3/4" 3:23 SureGrip for several years. I have the Poly and tranny under the bench now as a few years ago I went six banger and swapped in an AMC 258 with AMC pattern 727. I lost about 100 hp, but it's cool and different and can still chirp the inside tire in 2nd going around corners.
A518 is a hydraulic OD trans, can co simple on/off switch with auto off through brake switch or as complicated as you want. All guts are 727 and can be beefed up, OD section built to diesel specs. Only needs really good cooling, you got that covered already. Not sure about big block bolt pattern. Did this to my A500 (42RH) with the lock up option, have 100k worth of burn outs, drag racing, pulling overloaded trailers and daily driving. 518 is easier to get stall you want with and without lock up, 500 more difficult.
Bryan Putz ANY good Trans will cost, especially when putting high horsepower in front of it. 727 has been used behind big blocks and diesels for some time, known fail points can be overcome but the same can be said for GM and Ford trans. Haven’t looked at the cost of these OD units but it appears to me you’re buying two transmissions instead of one. Comes down to do what is best for your application or use whatever falls in your lap.
dont turn the camera off when Dulcich calls, we want to hear what he has to say...better yet, start asking him about stuff he doesn't know about like Pugeot or haircuts
I just ordered a gearvender on Friday. I wasn’t sure if that was the best $4,000 idea I have ever had. Then you make this today. If the unit works out for me in my truck. Then I’ll order another for my 69 charger. Keep this update going. I want to see the troubles you have and how you wire it up. And compare them to what I’m up too.
ReloadingRADIO from what I keep reading, as I'm sure you have too, everything is supposedly supposed to break before a gearvendors unit does. I bet you'll be just fine.
I can remember when we bought our first Fury 3 in 1969. Ours was a dark blue model. If yours is anything like ours was? Watch out on the power steering hose. Ours broke for no reason at about 2500 miles. Lots of smoke! Otherwise they were great cars.
Nice, I got a "Tanks" gas tank also, the quality is really good. Prove that the wagon is roadtrip worthy by driving it to Louisville KY to help me put my tank in. Oh btw, bring a Holley Sniper efi with you ;)
Art Carr’s Company “California Performance Transmission” has a Turbo TH200 4 speed OD that is rated at 750 hp for $2899 and $600-900 for a converter, lockup or non lockup. It has a .68 Overdrive. He builds them for up to 1000hp, and also has rebuild kit to build the same. I don’t know how much a Adapter for a Mopar would be though.
Monty Crain You'd need to adapt the chev the the Mopar and you'd still need OD. The 727 bolt is drop in and go, linkage and all. A th400 is just not economical.
Timely video, I have the same issue. I'm going with a face plated TKO 600 to replace the Richmond 4 speed. I'm going to keep the 4:11 rear for some fun.
Thanks for the update, Lucky. Are you going to drive it to Ruby's in Redondo this Friday? I'd love to check the wagon out in person. You're welcome to come tear up my neighborhood!
are there any photos of this wagon anyplace online? Looks like the original Dark Teal paint and Fury III trim. How’s the interior? 3 seats? tailgate assist handles? any options?
Perhaps it's time for the hot rodding communities to start thinking about using ZF 8-speed transmissions? Enough gears to get going and to cruise well. Would just need a toque converter company to start making appropriate stall converters for certain applications.
What size rims? Backspace? Tire Size? Love those rims, building a Ramcharger. Just got a A518 rebuilt, what kind of horsepower can it handle in your opinion..
cudak888 I am sure Thankful for this video. I have a 64 New Yorker wagon with a rare twin filler neck and auxiliary tank on the passenger side. 518 low deck and a gear vendor going in 👍

That’s how Bay Area sideshow are. Not everyone is from the Bay Area a lot roll in from Stockton, Tracy, Fresno ect just to swing their rides in the street
You are more than welcome to come to my neighbourhood and raise hell... just because the Pacific Ocean is between my neighbourhood and your's shouldn't be a big deal... do they make a snorkel for the Fury?
Thank you for talking with me. I'm just messin around. Just a smart a$$! x2. Really enjoy your videos," because " you just get things done! I'm was bornn & raised in Manhatan BeEch, Mariy Casta high scholl teeched ( just a number)!!?, And I know about where your shop might be, so someday when I go back home to visit, I'll look you up so I can give you a$100.oo's (+/-) to get a ride in your unbelievable Chevelle. Please!?? 1st, 2nd,3rd,4rth gears in that car( on video) show's that you really know what you "ARE" doing! Bitchin car sir!! just sayin
I know you mentioned it in a later video I was watching, I love the content but after a while the quick jerky motions of the camera makes me sick. Thanks for posting.
Lucky these guys make an adapter to put the re46 behind a 440... when the gear venders smokes.... lol... jvxracing.com/Adapters.htm re46 and re47 live behind a cummins I am sure they will live behind that bb...
with me I don't care where I am if I have a truck and I wanted to show it off I show it off in my neighborhood so that people could see it and when I'm in high school I'm going to have a big like overpowered truck and I won't care a bit speeding around and they donut just showing off my truck cuz I'll be like I told you I would build this thing
Lucky’s Garage Show What stall did you go with, I’m actually in the process of upgrading to a Gear Vendor Overdrive, I have 2600 stall, would I have any issues with heat with this converter or would it have to be changed?
Very cool Lucky. I love those old Mopars.
dude your channel is so much better than the scripted hot rod garage
I remember my sisters first car.. a 66' fury 4 door.. and when I got my license, it snowed for the first time in 10 years in Lancaster and of course I didn't clear the windows and of course wound up cutting off... a cop, only the meanest sob cop, I worked with his wife at the Budweiser distributor .. this was back when cops could beat you and you let them... because it was normal.. ish.

The wagon is cool love the fact you drive the wheels of your cars! The gear vendors will be a great addition for sure.
Hell yes you build them so you can drive them
LOVE the old Mopar wagoon !!!
Dulcich is the Mopar Messiah
More lucky!!! Dude you are the best personality out of the whole crew, and that's saying alot, everyone is rad but your a notch above the best. Keep it up dude.
I have a 67 VIP 440 and your wagon video has helped me out because I would be lost working on this thing.

but it wouldn't hold this amount of power....without a couple of k$$$ investment...

yep... I've been a true "Chrysler guy" since the late sixties...:)
Lucky if you show up to my neighborhood Ill buy the brewskies. Always welcome brother.
dont turn the camera off when Dulcich calls, we want to hear what he has to say...better yet, start asking him about stuff he doesn't know about like Pugeot or haircuts
Good idea. For the same reason i almost want to switch to modern muscle. Amazing how they come with 6,8,and 10 speed automatics these days
Always wondered what people were doing with Big stall and GV overdrive.

A 5 or 6 speed wagon would have been a rare thing to see !!
i think he covered that when he said something along the lines of "what i can afford"
Wouldn't mind seeing you come out to my race track. Love the cars you have been working on. Keep up the great work.
Hey Lucky I had a 65 Fury 111 wagon. Great car 👍 with a 318 and a Stromberg Carb
Can you do a full (10min) install video on this when you're done? I know it's simple but I'd like to see it.

Bring the wagon here Lucky! Love wagons
Overdrive awesomeness.
Oh man I had a 71 Fury wagon that I put a 360 in , that thing was fast!!
Nice, I got a "Tanks" gas tank also, the quality is really good. Prove that the wagon is roadtrip worthy by driving it to Louisville KY to help me put my tank in. Oh btw, bring a Holley Sniper efi with you ;)
Your new shop looks busy as helll lately. Very cool!
I really enjoy your videos! Keep it up!

A push button lockup high stall converter would be awesome setup
Thanks for the update, Lucky. Are you going to drive it to Ruby's in Redondo this Friday? I'd love to check the wagon out in person. You're welcome to come tear up my neighborhood!
Hey bro you can come to my neighborhood 😀
But you better put your car in a plane coz I don't think it can swim😁
Sorry couldn't resist😉

I'd like to see this myself. I wonder though, if it would take away some of the old car feel when driving it.
Chelsea in Manhattan we could use a little hell bring it lucky
With a 2000rpm convertor the fury will be slow off the line. Your better off with a lock up high stall. Best of both worlds.
lucky for President
Deep deep Overdrive wisdom
I see TCI has a 4L80E kit that fits that engine in the $4000 range, lets start a GoFundMe for that lol
Damn cool ass wagon lucky we dig the. s*** out of it.
Lucky you are the coolest dude on youtube.....😈
I never thought I'd say this but mmmm, low rpms. Makes sense.

Lucky da man .
What size wheels and tires do you have on the fury . I am in Australia and have a 66 Dodge Phoenix it basically a fury
I need this wagon
The lovely issues of trying to shove any sort of overdrive under a 1960's Mopar. Be glad it's not a B-body, then you'd have to worry about fit too.
cudak888 I am sure Thankful for this video. I have a 64 New Yorker wagon with a rare twin filler neck and auxiliary tank on the passenger side. 518 low deck and a gear vendor going in 👍
HAHA tear up someone else's community..love it

Dulcich is a great guy.
Consider a Viper 6 speed?
Lucky these guys make an adapter to put the re46 behind a 440... when the gear venders smokes.... lol...
jvxracing.com/Adapters.htm

There is NOT" such a thing for a 727, 2500rpm stall with an electrically switched lock-up converter for such an animal???
just sayin
dano yeah. I’m aware of that. That’s why in doing a GV.
Thanks for watchin
Lucky’s Garage Show What stall did you go with, I’m actually in the process of upgrading to a Gear Vendor Overdrive, I have 2600 stall, would I have any issues with heat with this converter or would it have to be changed?
