Another interesting video, at the start you say that because it is wired incorrectly, it's classed as not commissioned, and your video info text says you can either AR or fix it, *AR* is incorrect, it's ID if it can not be commissioned, IGEM/G/11 Edition 2, Appendix 3 (GSIUR Reg. 26(5)) , I have seen a few get caught out with that part (not a criticism).. I can not see why the person who fitted the boiler cut the wires and just connected it to a DPSFS with the 13a in it, maybe they got confused, I wonder what information they listed on the benchmark?? it's people like that who should not be in the industry, as what previous dangers have they left. good job it's not RIDDOR reportable.😁 keep up YOUR good work tho. 👍👍👍👍
this is a classic diy fit, then get a heating engineer to fix the issues.... total install cost 50% less than full installation so for me should i want to put my name to a diy install would be a charge to commission + full survey of flue etc.+ registration via building control and Baxi.. not much change from a grand unfortunately
Nice straightforward job in the end. You would be surprised how many engineers can not even wire up a boiler. They can't even wire up a plug! I think the wiring goes hand in hand with the gas work.. I love these jobs though that get the brain working.
I know you said it’s electrically safe & there’s no exposed conductors, not sure I’d have been happy leaving wiring like that. I also know you said about social housing getting their sparks in, but personally (sounds like they have kids) would have JB’d it. Great find and video though 👍🏻
I fully get your point mate and it's a fair one, I just didn't have any on the van. Not the ideal scenario but better then AR the boiler and leave them with nothing
@@sudhiradhikari19 Hi Sudhir. It's the most critical part of gas safety in your responsibilities in law. Only 4 key points but this should be drummed into you when completing your ACS. Good luck
There's a few, Baxi, Mr Combi, etc. However the best way is to try and go with someone and see how they do it as you'll see it in a real life situation
what happens a lot with council ect they put valve in drain down and then permanently wire boiler on so tenant has heating and hot water till council sparks wires it properly
I get that, but this boiler was just wired straight into the spur, not even with the pump or anything so it wasn't pushing the heat around the system, only overheating itself. Also this boiler isn't meant to be have a permanent live supply, only switch live when there's a demand
Love a good fault find, nice one mate
Thanks Pete!

Talented mate great video 😊
Thank you 👍🏾
Great work buddy! Can’t beat some wiring fault finding 👍🏾
Watching your videos is like watching CSI Miami
Excellent

I love the wiring side of heating systems. Would love to get my head into relays on big systems with multiple zones and pumps, etc
Another good video. Always keep an open mind
Nice one.....it would have been interesting to see what the lemon had written in the benchmark book......😀
Cheers mate.......👍
Always getting the job done 🔨
Thank you

Very helpful, can you please explain what is 26/9 check is, which you said on the video.
Hi, are you a registered Gas Safe engineer?

Am I right in thinking the boiler cables are now sw live neutral and earth ?
Nice video :-)
That's right mate, this boiler doesn't need a permanent live
wow...unbelievable! how do they get away with this?
Can you explain the thing on your wrist.
Is it a tool or fashion?
I'm new to this, what exactly happened here?
In your opinion what’s the best breakdown course to go on for someone who’s still struggling with wiring?
There's a few, Baxi, Mr Combi, etc. However the best way is to try and go with someone and see how they do it as you'll see it in a real life situation
Honeywell and danfoss do good wiring courses too
😊👍👍
