I wasn't expecting the razor ones that you only put where you want them to be that great, but I tried them at at your recommendation anyways, since I'm not a fan of my current grip tape. I was very surprised. I'm glad I gave them a try. Will probably be using these for life.
PRO TIP: Buy a roll/sheet of grip tape If you want to cut the tape EXACTLY like your mice, Simply stick masking tape, draw out the outline requires on the masking tape roughly peel off the masking tape and stick it on TOP of the Grip tape sheet, Refine the outline on the masking tape Proceed to use the masking outline as a template to cut the grip sheet.
They make grip tape for firearms as well that are a bit cheaper for a larger sheet you can cut yourself. It's worked beautifully for my VR controllers, excellent grip and the adhesive is still strong after a year and a half. No clue how the texture compares to the mouse specific ones, but definitely worth checking out as an option.
I bought the Razer Deathadder V3 wireless a few months ago, wanting to swap out my wired Deathadder V2 for a wireless option. Out of the box the V3 came smooth with optional grip tape, and I tried for awhile in that configuration, but the mouse felt slippery and my aim in FPS games was mediocre when before it wasn't too shabby. Nothing like trickshot good, but more flickshot decent. However I eventually got around to trying out the grip tape for the V3, and what a world of difference! The mouse feels completely under control, and where my pinky used to drag a little off the edge (I have big hands, hence using the Deathadder to begin with) I no longer had that problem after applying the grip tape. It's such a minor difference, but the results speak for themselves. The mouse feels under more of my control, my hand rests comfortably on the shell, and my aim is back to where I can improve upon it instead of feeling like I got sent back in progress from having a lousy mouse.
I love my griptape, but the razer universale one even if you clean your mouse it will come off in about a month, or the adhesive starts to come off and sticks to your hand. Not a bid deal because it gives you quite a bit of it. Just annoying to reapply
I use gun grip tape usually but Ill look at the price of the branded ones for the future if its worth it. Any grip stuff will make a difference. Im not a competitive guy but I love the feel and control it adds.
I have used my Razer Viper V2 pro without grips because I didnt like the black grips look on the white mouse, but one day I tried it and afterwards I am not going back - the control is worth the sacrifice of looks for sure
My issue with grip tape and built in 'grip texture' on mice, is that it only works with dry hands. If you have sweaty hands, it actually makes the mouse more slippery. If you have sweaty hands you are better off buying rolls of athletic grip tape (the type used on baseball bats, hockey sticks, etc.), and cutting it to size. The best grip tape I've ever used has been homemade, while the Pulsar and Razer stuff actually made me play worse while costing more
you havent tried the hotline games grip v2.0 plus. it actually absorbs sweat while having a rubber finish. then the sweat can dissipate over time where you're not in contact with the mouse
I have BTL grips for my superlight, and found them to be pretty shit. The glue doesn't stay in place, it bulges out from beneath the grips and eventually will come off on your hands, leaving less glue holding the grip to the mouse and causing them to slip more and more until they fall off. Probably endemic to all of these dumb mouse grips. I haven't tried sports tape but I think that would do a much better job. The sort of stuff that you'd put on a tennis racket or hockey stick.
i used a 1$ mousepad to make custom grip for my G402 i rip the cloth from the front then cut the mousepad rubber according to my hand placement and stick it with supperglue it feels amazing
I have the Hotline ones for G502, they are dirty cheap here, they are excellent also good for tiny repairs on the G502 side that runnout with time. Also Hotline do have a universal one that you can cut in any format that you want, and it is the same price as the cutted ones.
Ive tried various mouse grips in the past but they usually come off within a couple days and leave the sufaces worse off after than if you had just used your device as normal. Ive never really had issues much with sweat, if i sweat, i just deal with it and usually it doesnt cause me any sort of issues. I would love a grip that stays like with my controller, ive even used tennis/gamer antiperspirant for my hands/fingers but again its not worth the immediate build up of residues. I use a g502 stock no weights on my glass mouse pad from steel series they used to make. If you want too much glide try any aluminum or even try lubing one of those. Glass has more friction and consistent friction breaks in movement. If anything its too grippy compared to basic aluminum.
wear of built in rubber grips is really not a problem... I'm using my g403 since 5 years and the grips are still great. If anything they improved over time because they formed little comfort groves where i rest my fingers. And before that i was using a mionix mouse, the grips on that mouse are still fine, too. But aftermarket grips people usually replace every couple months from what i've heard...
When i've got Logitech GPW Superlight i was thinking - wtf are these weird grip stickers included in the package. One day i've applied them. Damn they re good. This is the different level of control and if i will change mouse to any other - i will definitely find some grip tape to put on it. BTW there is a good priced grip tape - it is called Lizard Skins and is used by hokkey players on their equipment.
How many people have their mouse go flying from their hand as they twist around for a sweet quick scope headie, go flying into the wall, shattering into pieces, and getting a piece embedded in your foot two days later? I can't be the only one...
Get a roll of 1 or 2” wide gaffer tape. You’ll find 1000 other good uses for it and it’s cheaper and grippy but soft and isn’t $15 for just your mouse buttons.
Gotta try some grip tape on my Logitech G502 lightspeed. Been using the mouse for 2.5 years or maybe even longer by now and due to the pandemic and increased usage the material got shiny and pretty smoothed out faster than usual sadly.
I have a glossy cooler master mm710, feels like I don't have much grip ngl especially when my hands get oily or sweaty so I really am considering grip tape.
As a rule of thumb, matte coating > gloss for sweaty hands. I had to return the mm710 gloss after one day, because it was impossible to use consistently, while the matte version was fine
Hey @Dmitry, amazing review as always! Im using my DAV3 at 4Khz, love this flippin thing! Just a small tiny correction @5:04, is that the xlite v2? or the new X2?
I got grips for Basilisk, Viper, and the universal all Razer. Love them. Won't be using a mouse without grips ever again. Razer needs to make a lighter weight Basilisk though, if they can do it for the Deathadder they should truly do it for the Basilisk. Im only asking for 75 grams with RGB it's very possible, just make it like the V2 but with the good specs like the viper V2 pro.
Can't say I have ever found the need for grip tape, but I also have a chonkers size mouse in the ROCCAT Tyon, Wich is sadly out of production, and I can't find anything quite as comfortable, if I could find this mouse, with the same layout/size but a better sensor I would be in love. SOme weight reduction would probably help too, however I would give wireless a shot still if the weight was kept at/below the current
There's grip tape specifically cut for the G502 and I love the feel! Sure it's good for gaming, but it's great for everyday-use and comfort too, especially if it's the soft and squishy kind!
Even though I have rather sweaty hands, I still didn't really notice the need for extra grip. I'd say it's also definitely important what coating mouse is using, even aside from surface texture. Using the latest matte black Zowie mouse with new coating. As for mouse skates, I saw the glass skates, would be fun to try though I have glasspad heh.
As someone who self-diagnosed himself with hyperhydrosis, I have a fair share of griptapes usage, and out of all the uses He said on the video, I personally think having Razer smaller sized hexagonal tape on keyboard would benefit me the most as I always stuggle with oily/slippery keys. Also, I have tried plenty griptapes from LizardSkins to Corepads and from actual skateboard grips to badminton racket grips. All of them become slippery after a few use, except from skateboard grips ofcourse. What griptapes would you recommend for cases like mine?
Have you tried Cattongue? The tape is durable and super grippy, and the material is quite dense(almost solid compared to Razer's rubber). .It isn't pre-cut, but you get a generous amount of tape to play with.

You just forgot the german inventor of these grips ~ SensoryBoost. Their grips are smooth and flat that doesn't feel weird like structured ones. if you ask me they feel best.
I just got back into Destiny and been using Razer universal grip tape on my g pro x super light. _and_ I tape the right button w/naked left, strip for the thumb & hex where the ring finger rests. Then I tape the ‘back’ button but not the forward button bc ‘back’ is throw nade and the other is switch nade, so gotta find it quick.
Was expecting a grip tape for free front the Razer deathadder v2 mini. Lots of YT vids showed it had that in the package. Sadly mine didn't come with it. Had to improvise and cut a rubberized anti slip phone pad thingy. Works good enough.
I had the viper mini with grip tape and switched over to the g pro wireless and bought some BTL grips and they are a million times better than razer's grip tape
I have a wonderful condition called hyperhydrosis, so I get sweaty palms pretty easily, I use this dragon scale grip tape on my mice and its awesome, able to pick up the mouse properly and its also super easy to clean.
Just wondering, how do you clean your grips? I try to use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol and a cloth to wipe off any grime, but I'm afraid that it will eventually wear down the grippy texture.
im honestly curious if i have hyperhidrosis as my hands get sweaty pretty easily and in general i just sweat a lot. like my hands are pretty soft, im assuming from the sweat, and they have absolutely no grip if they are dry. so i need get a tiny bit of sweat going to have grip on anything. i sometimes find myself wiping my hands on my pants or shirt during a gaming session. it could be a really casual and non competitive game too and ill still sweat. also idk about u but sometimes it seems like after i shower or something my hands will end up being really sweaty like if i use my phone or computer. like id see wet marks on my phone. its not always but occasionally. i have no idea what causes it.
You didn't mention Hotline Games DIY one, cut it yourself to match your mouse. Got it on my Xtrfy MZ1, great grip. Much better than the Razer universal, it looks so ugly.

just a question for my fellow dav3 owners, does the grip tape on the right side of the mouse feel super uncomfortable for anyone else or is that just me?

Unless you are spider man it ain't happening :) Otherwise everything is great I understand sponsor shit ;) Great videos keep going
i used the razer universal grips bcuz razer didnt give me grips in my deathadder v2 mini althought they are supposed to it is good and sticky and definetly reccomend it
Razer Universal Grip Tape in video - $9.99. Razer Universal Grip Tape on Amazon page - $54.15. Are you guys lying or did Amazon just by sheer coincidence raise the price by 500% overnight?
A nice affordable 77g wireless mouse with girp tape included would be the Dareu A900. I use it and it's great. The Type C flexible cable is also nice but since it doesn't have lights you'd barely need to charge it anyway.
DO NOT buy grip tape for your mouse. I bought the kit from Coolermaster for my 711, and it started to peel off leaving a gooey mess. My mouse will forever be sticky and gummy no matter how much alcohol I clean it with. Terrible idea.
Also holy shit, I hope those aren’t precuts for specific mice cause like literally all of them look like garbage. Edit: ye those razer ones actually look okay :/
Can somebody pls navigate me where to get original Razer grip tape for DA V3 Pro for the wired version? Original packaging doesn't have it which is a bummer. Razer website only has grips for DA in general meaning main clicks + palm grip. With Razer V3 Pro you have main clicks + SIDE grips. I much prefer side grip tape over palm. Any help is welcome if such thing exists as original product.
Razer grips are great until they get greasy, dirty and peel off. For me they get dirty after 2 months, oil dead skin in the groves and after 3 months they will start to wobble, glue comes out off the edges and after another month they must go off. It's a good product but with a little bit off time they are really annoying. Sounds to me like razer 😂 I had it on my g305 after a while I got annoyed and bought a Superlight, best decision ever no grips needed.
@@riba2233 have you used the product or are you just funny? if you are a power user like me and work around 8h with you machine per day it is inevitable... As a reviewer who uses a mouse with grips at max for 1-2 months this isn't a problem. It would be a problem if you could clean it easily but you can't.

Also holy shit, I hope those aren’t precuts for specific mice cause like literally all of them look like garbage. Edit: ye those razer ones actually look okay :/
Love it! Need it
Can somebody pls navigate me where to get original Razer grip tape for DA V3 Pro for the wired version? Original packaging doesn't have it which is a bummer. Razer website only has grips for DA in general meaning main clicks + palm grip. With Razer V3 Pro you have main clicks + SIDE grips. I much prefer side grip tape over palm. Any help is welcome if such thing exists as original product.
my secret weapon is having a disfunctional leftclick... mabye thats not so great but i cant buy a new one if i want to be able to pay rent
0:40 which game?
Could do without the sound effects on the bulletpoints tbh.
Sounds to me like razer 😂
I had it on my g305 after a while I got annoyed and bought a Superlight, best decision ever no grips needed.
You can also wash your hands ;)
@@riba2233 have you used the product or are you just funny?
if you are a power user like me and work around 8h with you machine per day it is inevitable... As a reviewer who uses a mouse with grips at max for 1-2 months this isn't a problem.
It would be a problem if you could clean it easily but you can't.
@@timlolxP I use btl grips, use mouse at least half day every day, they are clean as the first day. Just wash your hands, that is it. I know most people lack basic hygiene but it is what it is.
@@riba2233 so you haven't used razer grips and haven't got any experience with the product...
But thx for the advise haven't thought about that.
Can someone recommend a kit for G305? I bought one but after months the glue start to delaminate to the slides and breaks down very badly
Deity?! You rip MTB bro?!
What game is the one at 0:32?
that kung fu grip.....
