- It's road trip time! London to the Alps with skis and luggage, 1,052km in a day with the AMG GT R, let's go! After no trouble loading up the boot of the car including a pair of skis, let's hit the roads via the Eurotunnel down through France towards Megeve in the Alps. Do you think there's an AMG GT R out there doing more mileage than mine?
Having bought this car as very much one that can be used for all purposes and to truly mile crunch across the continent, it seemed only appropriate that as the snow falls in the Alps to get back on the roads to get there and have a few ski days. The AMG GT R ends the day with 6,000km on the clock and this is only the start, more is coming, watch this space.

You should make a live odometer on your page, for all cars and one special when you are traveling with plane. Think you can get to 200 000 in a year?
19.6 mpg. My Xkr averaged 23mpg on a long trip with a heavy foot, but you have more power hence lower mpg.
You certainly made the right choice with the AMG GT R for the road trips you have planned. It is the perfect GT, trouble free and ready for anything.
Apart from the 21mpg, it's a great GT. If the cost of fuel isn't an issue (which is likely for someone who can afford to own a car like this) then it's brilliant!
The 21mpg is quite good. If you keep in mind what some normal cars use. Especially SUVs in America
21mpg is amazing considering its a V8 near supercar level
I doubt those carbon bucket seats have good GT credentials

Not because I don't love your videos, I watched every single video last year, but because it means you're focusing on yourself and other things you need to do. Last summer i did 1200 km in my 78hp red little manual Alfa Mito, with no cruise control. From Milan to the Atlantic Ocean in France, it took me 16 hours, of which 12 at the wheel. Totally worth it 😂

Every summer My family does a 2400km roadtrip with our Audi Q5 to bosnia all the way from Sweden and That’s one route the other route is also 2400km so we do 4800km every year
i have a Mito!:) 95hp 16v sounds mega with straight pipes
I hate driving my mito for long trips cause it only has 5 gears but its so much fun to swing around town
Aldin Kajevic personally, that would be too much for me. But a Q5 is very comfortable and a great cruiser, so despite being that long of a road trip it shouldn’t be that bad right?

It is really crazy that car that powerful can be soooooo fuel efficient... 500 kilometers and 60 liters of fuel is equal to 12l/km or 19.6MPG...

He said it was 64 litres for 500kms so 22mpg, thats pretty impressive, but i suspect he drove like a granny on the motorways.

It’s not that good, man. I’d be impressed with 28mpg US if it was pure highway driving. Half that for fun driving, and half that again for track driving.

Great car and video! Given the engine and gearbox setup I would have expected 10 or 11 kilometers per litre instead of barely 8. But for a car like that it might be okay. Love these car/travel vlogs.

Shmee .. You should prevent using stop start feature for any of your cars even if they are fuel efficient. In short, they will decrease the life span of your starter motor which you dont want that to happen.

The longest I've driven in Europe was 1170km, and that was on just one tank of fuel, did 2 little pit stops for refueling myself :-).
Arrived at the gas station with just 3 liters left ^^
You were doing about 12,8 L/100km, about 18,4 mpg. So not too bad i think. 25 years earlier cars used that much fuel when managing only 180 Horsepower, so that a 4 Liter Biturbo V8 ist averaging that number is what you call progress i suggest

Your AMG GTR looks very nice now, but in my mind it looked even better when it was new, and without the DUB custom bits.
The ability to reliably daily a Mercedes GTR is what makes Mercedes stand out i use a Mercedes as my daily though not a GTR ... great trip
