Actually it wouldn't, flamethrower were invented in ww1 because they were fighting in trenches so there is not alot of escape route in the trench, nowaday, if someone go up to you with a flamethrower, just run to somewhere open and 99% you will be safe, flamethrower are really heavy so just run and you will escape!

Well, I've recently watched an old instructional video on flamethrower fuels, and, at least with classic napalm, aging has a considerable effect on the fuel. Pre-mixed fuel is apparently most effective a full day or so after mixing, while after a week of storage, it didn't look any more impressive than unthickened gasoline. I'm not an expert by any means, but going by that I'd recommend mixing your fuel a day before planned use, and not keeping it around for too long, although of course I don't know if this particular mixture works the same. In any case, the dry napalm powder itself should be very stable, so it's always best to just mix up some fuel as needed, rather than stockpiling it premixed.
