Campit LGBT Campground Review '21 (Saugatuck, MI) - Almost 40 years and still going strong!

- Our scored review of Campit Outdoor Resort, an LGBT (lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender) campground/resort just outside of Saugatuck, Michigan. Opened in 1982, this campground has been a mainstay for the LGBT community through some of our most trying challenges... and triumphs. This is our 4th stop of our 13 LGBT campground 2021 review tour! We were there from June 27 till July 5, 2021.
Our scored campground reviews rate gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender oriented campgrounds on the following important features so that you can be prepared and make informed decisions (on a scale of 1-10):
*Big Rig Friendliness - how easy is it to get to and navigate within the park?
*Grounds and Facilities - what kinds of amenities does the campground have (or not), and what are they like?
*The Vibe - our (totally subjective) take on the ambiance and camp-culture
*Internet Availability - Is there enough Internet via cell hot spots or campground WiFi to do more than scroll Twitter or Facebook?
And NEW in 2021, we also spend some time at the end of the video talking about the nearby amenities such as stores, restaurants and points of interest.

I remember so many hot sweaty summer nights there in the late 80s and 90s, the trails, the farm parties and of course the dunes rooms ... love the video.

Good fair review. Lived 3 summers in a big rig in Central Park.
Go back during a slower weekend. You will find your vibe.
Campit did have golf cart rentals. Not sure if they still do.
Our AT&T worked well enough to stream even on big weekends.
The permanent community is incredible. Great people and a real community.
My rating would be a bit higher but you guys were fair.

William - thank you so much for this. We never like saying anything even close negative about a gay campground - primarily because there aren't enough of them out there. We love the LGBT camping community, including those that take huge financial risks to bring us great parks. Whenever we do have a critique, we try very hard to justify it. At the end of the day, being fair is the best compliment we could possibly receive. Again, thank you.
CAMPIT had some very clean restrooms. I was visiting mid week (Tuesday). The small bunk house private room was only about $30 a night (Much more expensive during weekend). The Staff was very friendly.

Really grown since mid 90s, besides Dunes resort n some July 4 circuit DJs, nothing beat after hours Farm Party, get your glow ring and head to back 40,

I have been going to Campit since 2016. I have made several friends, some that I now call family. Yes, it is called Eastvillage. Yes, his name is Brian. No, there isn't a hot tub. There are also themed weekends throughout the season that are a lot of fun......p.s. I believe we crossed paths over the 4th of July weekend. 😊

I have been last year and this year and they built a nice shower house in the Westwood area. I liked it because it has 8 private shower rooms where you can shower and get dressed in private. Sooo nice, sorry you guys missed that

In between the east and west section of the campgrounds, near the creek is an outdoor "adult playground".....

They had some really nasty bathrooms last year and the year before. The place needs lots of tlc.
