- Our scored review of The Woods Campground, an MASSIVE LGBTQIA+ campground/RV park in the Poconos of Pennsylvania.
This is our 9th stop of our 13 gay campground 2021 review tour! We were there from August 20 till August 26, 2021.
Our scored campground reviews rate gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender oriented campgrounds on the following important features so that you can be prepared and make informed decisions (on a scale of 1-10):
✅Big Rig Friendliness - how easy is it to get to and navigate within the park?
✅Grounds and Facilities - what kinds of amenities does the campground have (or not), and what are they like?
✅The Vibe - our (totally subjective) take on the ambiance and camp-culture
✅Internet Availability - Is there enough Internet via cell hot spots or campground WiFi to do more than scroll Twitter, Facebook or "the apps"?

Absolutely love The Woods. Went for the first time last year and couldn't wait to go back. As a nudist, it's such a great atmosphere. I'm naked as soon as I park. People are so friendly and it really is HUGE. I can't recommend it enough.
We were there that weekend and can be seen in many segments in the video. We had a blast as well and are glad you enjoyed your stay as well. 🌈
Great review of our campground! These full-time gay guys really get into it. They have the whole review thing down. And they give the Woods an outstanding overall review.

Thank you so much! We have a few more in queue from last year. So far, none for this year (we bought a house and it's both keeping us busy and allowing us to be lazy at the same time haha). We do plan to get a motorhome next year though and begin doing reviews again. There's still a few places we haven't visited yet, but just as importantly, some that we HAVE visited will be outdated and need to be redone :)

Thank you, Matthew! Scores are scary since they're so subjective... and the last thing we want to do is create some complex rubric for it... it'd take out most of the fun. Best we can do is just qualify what we say so as to make sure it's balanced. If you ever see us around, please do say hi!!

I was at The Woods for illuminations weekend last year, as expected, internet away from my camper was unusable. I use Starlink which worked very well there, but I needed to be within close proximity to my site.
My favorite campground, Harrisburg, La.

I have been going here since it’s opened the amount it’s grown is impressive but after COVID hit and the large influx of NYC circuit party boys due to it kinda changed the vibe and it’s expensive so be prepared for that but I still have a good time regardless
Since you were here, they added another comfort station. Coco was the 5th and was named after the butler/houseboy they had in an earlier season but Stan was #6 after Dorothy's ex. And the shed is gone and replaced by cabins. There will be a new "Shed" by 2023 season is what I've heard.
Some friends of ours posted their own (very similar) review just a few days after ours went live... but there's is from a much more recent visit than ours (oops). They showed Stanley. I think the name for it is perfect! I wonder if the next one will be Miles. :)

Hi Luxer! We have heard of the place, but you're right, we haven't made our way out there yet. Perhaps next year! Is your name in reference to the Luxe brand? We came dangerously close to buying one last year lol. I just couldn't wrap my head around $180k for a fifth wheel. A year later and it's almost a bargain LOL.

LOL I assumed it was named for a person. I had to google him at the tail end of the video editing to learn more about who he was and how his name became attached to a town. It was quite the story!!

nice video -- kind of sad that you skipped over the incredible story of Jim Thorpe and instead just laughed at the town's name. could have said something more informative, even if it was just one sentence, instead of simply giggling at the unique town name!
