Recently started using D1 pro, and by far, this video is the total package. Easy to follow and professionally made. I'll be following this fella more. Thanks!
I purchased this attachment from your website and it’s definitely as described. I’ll make a quick video of me using it. I already set it up and it only took me 5 mins. Your video is straightforward and makes life so much easier. Thank you!
You’ve been an amazing asset to starting my new woodworking/craft business with my new Xtool D1 pro!! Keep up the fantastic work!!! Thanks Jason Mielke
Your videos for the xTool are absolutely awesome! Thanks to your videos, I was able to get set up and working within a few hours (I took my time with assembly) including with the RA2 Pro. I went ahead and ordered some stuff from your website and I am a bit upset at how long the shipping is taking. I did not think from Canada to the USA would take nearly 20 days. For those of you in the United States that are thinking about buying some of his products, beware at how long the shipping might take. My order was shipped a week ago and it is still in Canada with an expected delivery date of May 18th. Keep the videos coming!
Hi Adam, thank you for the kind words. It looks like your order was placed May 2nd, shipped next day May 3rd and scheduled for delivery May 17. About 15 non-business days which isn't lightning fast (I understand) but based on tracking it looks like it sat in the distribution center here in Canada for 4 days without movement. Normally this doesn't happen and with international tracked air mail (my standard shipping to the US) most packages take 7-8 days. I'm not really sure why yours is going so slow :( Sorry about that
Unfortunately US Customs is the WORST when it comes to shipping from Canada to the US. I've shipped many items to the US and 75-90% of the time, US Customs holds it up for the most ridiculous reasons! It's worse with low value items, I think they believe all low value items are containing something illegal, it's just crazy! Then when the person receives the package, either it hasn't even been touched or it's been repackaged, I assume the original package looks like it was shot at or blown up! They've gotta do better 🤦🏼.
I've watched a crap ton of these videos and always learn something. I knew about the first tilt method, but I didn't think to use the chuck, if it has an open end.👍
Your base design is fantastic. If I can make a suggestion, I would like to see an better leveling system. I would like to see it on a single screw so that I don't need to tighten both sides. And also with a wing type nut/screw so that I can make adjustments by hand. These are the only things keeping me from purchasing. Nice job overall.
First, let me say thank you for your awesome video. Now I would like to say, I have found that you don't have to flip your image if you go into the rotary setup and click mirror output.
have you thought of making a baseplate with holes for the laser machine's feet? then you can add a cutout in the center (keeping the piece for regular use) and set the rotary inside that. then it's always in the same position.
Wow! Great detailed video and I like what you made to tilt at an angle but I have the enclosed smoke box and I can't raise it any higher. I still wanna thank you for a great video
Thank you SOOO much for this video! I just bought the xTool M1 Ultra and wondering if the tilt mechanism kit you made will work on that, as well? Of course I have the RA2 Pro. All these suggestions are so very helpful! New subscriber here!
I noticed you had pre-set settings for BLACK SS Tumblers. I'm looking for the settings for WHITE and I'm told I need to slow it down for white. When I look in my Creative Space under Materials, there is nothing there like in you folder. Where Are they supplied from Xtool? Great informative video also.
Thanks Larry, are you running the latest version of their software? I would agree that for white you will likely have to slow it down so the laser can be better absorbed by the white paint.
When installing pully for chuck attachment, whats the reason to turn the flad side of motor rotor as pully hole is round, like there is no similad D shape ?
Amazing video that really helped me out! I just bought the RA2 Pro Tilt and fume extractor for my D1 PRO but I couldn't find those xtool risers you showed on the video. Do you still sell those? Thank you for your videos and the awesome and helpful 3D printed tools to make my life way easier!
Hi great information here. Helped me alot... I was wondering if the laser goes, do you have to purchase the whole laser module part or can you just buy the laser by itself and install it. Because it seems a bit expensive like 500 bucks just to get a working laser!!! Any help appreciated 👍👍👍
I purchased the switch. the tilt mechanism and the D1 Pro light kit a couple days ago. Can't wait to get them. Thanks for the great video and products. I didn't see the motherboard cover on your website. I would have got one of those too. It there a 3D printer friendly SVG file so we can print that our selves?
Hi Christy, the mainboard cover and button cover come as a package: embracemaking.com/products/xtool-d1-pro-pcb-and-button-cover-kit Currently the STL files are not available but perhaps in the future I can look into offering those in some way. Thanks!
Thank you for your very informative videos. I put together my D1 Pro with your video alone and now to about the RA2 Pro. I have a question, when engraving an ID bracelet, how would I engrave the back of the bracelet? The engrave surface is curved.
Depends on how curved... if it is very severe that would be tricky. If it is a gentle curve you might be able to lay it flat on the table and set the laser focus distance on a middle ground between the closes point and farthest point on the bracelet. As long as the laser head doesn't contact the parts of the bracelet that are sticking up off the table. This is something you may have to experiment with a little to get the best focal distance.
Just started unboxing my 20w unit. Your videos are excellent both in thoughtful content and clarity. Do you know of a switch someone makes to swap between the cup and the frame instead of unplugging the cables each time? I can see that as an eventual point of failure at the Pc board.

Very thorough, thank you. My ra2 pro motor sputters and not working right. I did the chuck reset and still doesn’t work. Talked to xtool customer service and still waiting for resolution. I’m wanting to fix it myself to work with my new xtool f1. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
Your videos are amazing! Would the RA2 Pro with the tilt upgrade work for a large tumbler with a handle (thinking the 30oz/40oz Stanley tumblers with handles)?
Thank you! If you have a really large tumbler you can always slide the tilt mechanism to the end of the base so the handle won't hit it. If that is still not enough room with the extra height the tilt already adds, you can lift the base with a book or something underneath.
Hi there! Any chance you could tell me what the height of this RA2 is from the bottom side of the base to the center of the 3-jaw chuck? I think this could to be great axis for one of my other machines but am looking for this dimension to confirm fitment. Thank you!
Hey sorry for the slow reply. With my tilt mechanism its 105mm from bottom of plate to center axis. Without my tilt mechanism its about 71.5mm Hope that helps!
I have 3d printed leg extensions for my LM2 and get some vibration with laser movement. Do these legs cause the same problem? My legs are 25mm square with locking pieces in the center to lock into the block above.
I haven't had this issue with my printed leg extensions. Do you notice the vibration when using the extensions for regular XY engraving, or with the rotary engraving? Or both
Nice work with your tilting part 👍 I'm tempted to order one for engraving the inside of rings easier. I just have a few questions: Do you have a video showing the inside of a ring being engraved? (I'm sure I heard the angle had to be 45° if this is the case 40° will not be enough) Once the tilt is connected and at its highest angle (for the inside of rings) will it not be too high to fit under the F1? (which I would be using to engrave) How much would this cost in GBP (including shipping?) If the questions are answered positively could you give me the link to buy please?
You should be able to, I personally don't have the xtool enclosure but there are quite a few others who have purchased the rotary kit and are using the enclosure without issue.
Thank you! I guess that sort of depends, if you had air assist or vacuum drawing the soot away it might help lessen the frequency of cleaning... Maybe try doing a dozen of them and see if you notice any deterioration of quality between the first and the last... if not keep going. Keep the first tumbler for reference. If you start to see loss of detail or weird artifacts then inspect the lens.
Question... I like the xtool, but am leaning more towards one of the other brands. The biggest thing holding me back is I think this rotary attachment is the best out there. So question... Are these rotary attachments proprietary to the brands, or could I use this rotary with another unit (running lightburn)? Love your angle mod as well!
Thanks! You should be able to run it with other brands.... it even comes with adapter cables to fit other lasers. What other brands are you considering?
@@EmbraceMaking it will actually be a little while still, as I'm in the process of building a new garage/workshop and want to wait until after that... With how fast things are changing with diodes, will probably change by then. I'm torn, I think I want to get a k40 co2 machine for the faster speed and ability to engrave acrylic etc. But I mostly want to be able to customize larger woodworking projects, which the k40 would be very limited on. So thinking maybe a 20w ish diode as well. For straight diode, was looking at the Atezr 24w. Love the ability to set it on any surface with essentially limitless size workpieces. But I'm also likely going to be getting a CNC router as well, and pretty set on the Onefinity Elite 48x48, and could get a 24w diode attachment for that, which would be a huge default size for a laser, but you can't move that onto a large work piece, so all tradeoffs...
Possibly but truthfully I have no experience with that machine. The RA2 comes with a bunch of adapter cables so you would have to investigate to see if the adapters will work with the Scultpfun. In rotary mode essentially the Y axis gets replaced with this rotary motor so you would configure your software accordingly to rotate the correct amount on the y axis for the diameter of the round object you are lasering.
On my d1 pro, I don't have the stainless steel mug or other materials you have. I have some very basic ones. Is there something I need to do to get those?
@@EmbraceMaking v.1.124. software updated yesterday. I found a way to find some of them. When I click +more at the end of my material list I see it brings up a search tool where you can look for other supported materials and found the blk stainless and even the plain stainless. Appreciate your videos and the products you made and sell. I ordered a few. Love the Galaxy watch charger; brilliant!
@@mrob5278 Nobody ever wished they had less. Buy the biggest you can afford. The 40watt is a marginally larger size 'dot' so it is arguably lower resolution for engraving so the 10watt would be better for that... but even so, the 40 watt can be ran at 10watts.
Loved the video. I just tried my rotary/Chuck first time and I am getting the same line like you did. Cleaned the lens and that still didn't help? Was your problem something else?
Hi, nice video, i have a question, can this tool be used with other engraving lasers ? I have a raycus stative laser and would like to know if i can use this accesorry. Thanks!
If your laser can control a four pin rotary motor then the RA2 can probably be controlled ... You would just need to adjust your software to account for the right number of steps per rotation so your images aren't distorted
Hi I'm new to all this. Very good stuff here. Wondering if you can help. When I'm ready to engrave, the last goes out and rotary stops moving. Tried 10 times now. I've done all the settings, frame so on. Lights are on but when I press start nothing happens. Would appreciate advice. Thanks
@@EmbraceMaking sorry I found out a lead wasn't plugged in. All working now just can't sell anything. Pretty pissed off at mo. Alot of money to part with. got my upgraded today but very sad to see it does not work with the S1 its just far to tall even with the riser to work...bummer but thank you for the videos
Nice work! Just a well intentioned message from a potential future customer ... I looked at your website and apart from a few dead links within the website: isn't there an obligation for a legal notica in your country? I couldn't find out where you're from - and specifically where your goods are from. I don't like to order things that are then on the way for weeks. You probably had a shipping information button, but that didn't do anything either. I am interested at the RA2 Pro Tilt Mechanism Kit, but the shopping experience is not really satisfying ^^ With a "whois"-request I've seen, that you are using a service from Toronto, Canada for your website ... so I guess the goods will ship from there? ^^
Thanks for your message! Yes I'm located in Toronto so that is where the items would ship from. In terms of legal notice I'm not sure in regards to what you would be looking for a notice? Maybe you can explain further. Can you let me know which links are dead, some of the Amazon ones? Unfortunately those I have to continually chase around when Amazon runs out of stock or a seller makes a new listing. My site is still under construction as it is somewhat new. I am working on getting better shipping rates to offer options such as expedited service international etc so that will be a better experience for people soon. I'm also working on getting some help with filling my orders so I can spend more time improving the website and making more designs and videos :)
@@EmbraceMaking The „legal notice“ is a thing here in europe. That is where i am looking for the city/country as a last try if i couldnt find it anywhere else on the website, because there have to be all information about the company. This was just a question :) On the page for the tilt mechanism: The link to the snap latch box is a 404. The panel with shipping & return do nothing if you try to expand it. You should at least put the information on your website, from where you are shipping. Without going through the whole checkout process. Your site switch to euro as soon as i enter it, that gave me false expectations :D I guess the shipping cost from canada to western europe would be as expensive as the whole tilt mechanism ^^ You can do whatever you want, these are just my 2 cents with a good intention behind it :)
Thanks for the info! I just fixed the link to the snap latch case. Not sure how that one got broken :( I will find some time today to try and add some information about where the items are being shipped from. Perhaps more info in the contact page form. The reason the website switches to Euro when you visit is that the website is created with Shopify ecommerce platform. So by default it detects your location and shows you your local currency. I appreciate you letting me know :)
Hi Juan, did you get the email from my website with tracking number? I also replied to your email. Check your spam folder if you're not getting them. I'll reply to you again by email - tracking is showing it's still on the way. I'm in Canada so it looks like your order spent about four days in customs which I unfortunately can't control, sorry about that.
The switch to the square nuts is not a good one - they bind very easily, to the point where I simply cannot use your tilt mechanism. I couldn't even be bothered to fight with installing it.
Hi Steven, are you referring to the all metal nuts in the channel? You're the first to have had this issue to my knowledge. If this is the case please contact me using the contact form on my website and I can get you some of the original hex nuts with the plastic inserts if you like those better! Thanks!
The RA1 with only the rollers isn't the best. The RA2 with the chuck is way better - anytime I can use the chuck it is my "go to" over any roller setup because of slipping. You can try and weigh the cup down with sand inside - lots of workarounds out there but it requires more setup time and can be a hassle
Loved the video and ordered almost everything you recommended. However, cannot find where you have shipped anything and am wondering where my stuff is. Confirmation #(removed for privacy).

Nice work with your tilting part 👍 I'm tempted to order one for engraving the inside of rings easier. I just have a few questions:
Do you have a video showing the inside of a ring being engraved? (I'm sure I heard the angle had to be 45° if this is the case 40° will not be enough)
Once the tilt is connected and at its highest angle (for the inside of rings) will it not be too high to fit under the F1? (which I would be using to engrave)

With the additional extenders will I still be able to use the D1 Pro enclosure?
You should be able to, I personally don't have the xtool enclosure but there are quite a few others who have purchased the rotary kit and are using the enclosure without issue.
Surprised you didn’t build a jig for lining up the ra2 base.
Hi I used my RA2 but the image. does not look round. how can O fix that
Great video! How often would you clean the lens if you were just engraving tumblers?
I also have a S1 10w can i use the RA2 with it ? or do I need to now get the riser box for the S1? thankks
Yes the riser base would be necessary for use with the RA2 !
Do you have any info on a stepped down 30oz mug please
Great video...easy to follow. How can I purchase that awesome tilt-mechanism?
Hi Michael, thank you! You can get it from my website here: embracemaking.com/products/xtool-ra2-pro-tilt-mechanism-kit
Is the RA2 Pro compatible with a Sculpfun laser machine?
Possibly but truthfully I have no experience with that machine. The RA2 comes with a bunch of adapter cables so you would have to investigate to see if the adapters will work with the Scultpfun. In rotary mode essentially the Y axis gets replaced with this rotary motor so you would configure your software accordingly to rotate the correct amount on the y axis for the diameter of the round object you are lasering.
On my d1 pro, I don't have the stainless steel mug or other materials you have. I have some very basic ones. Is there something I need to do to get those?
Do you have the latest version of the software? What version are you running?
@@EmbraceMaking v.1.124. software updated yesterday. I found a way to find some of them. When I click +more at the end of my material list I see it brings up a search tool where you can look for other supported materials and found the blk stainless and even the plain stainless. Appreciate your videos and the products you made and sell. I ordered a few. Love the Galaxy watch charger; brilliant!
Great video! Would a 5W Xtool with RA 2 be a setup for a beginner? Not sure whether to go with 5 or 10W. Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you.
Go with the 10w, unless you plan on strictly engraving I wouldnt go for anything less than 10W
@@EmbraceMaking thank you!!
Hmm lens cleaning seemed to fix the issue for me... is this still happening for you?
Great and informative. Love your mods also
Much appreciated! Thank you
what is the usual cause for a tumbler to slide back and for when framing
When you say back and forth, do you mean along the axis of rotation?
@@EmbraceMaking it moves left and right and falls off the level attachment so spins like a drill and falls forward if that makes sense
Where can I get one of those PCB covers!? Great idea!
Thank you! You can find them here: embracemaking.com/products/xtool-d1-pro-pcb-and-button-cover-kit
is the tilt kit plastic or aluminum? Also i dont need the extensions as i only have the F1, discount on the price :)
It is a plastic part. I just recently received the F1 so I hope to have a video of the tilt mechanism working with the F1 soon :)
Is it compatible with Sculpfun S30 pro max?
Hm, not sure but hopefully someone else can step in and confirm...
What type of exhaust fan are you hooking the CPAP hose to ??

Hi, I would really love to buy your rotary attachment but looks like you don’t ship to Australia. Is there a supplier in Australia that you use? 😊
Hi Merilyn, please visit my contact page here: embracemaking.com/pages/contact and send me your address and I will get you a custom quote. Thanks!
Hi, nice video, i have a question, can this tool be used with other engraving lasers ? I have a raycus stative laser and would like to know if i can use this accesorry. Thanks!
If your laser can control a four pin rotary motor then the RA2 can probably be controlled ... You would just need to adjust your software to account for the right number of steps per rotation so your images aren't distorted
does the d1 pro. engrave on stainless steel?
Hi I'm new to all this. Very good stuff here. Wondering if you can help. When I'm ready to engrave, the last goes out and rotary stops moving. Tried 10 times now. I've done all the settings, frame so on. Lights are on but when I press start nothing happens. Would appreciate advice. Thanks
So the laser doesn't fire at all? Which software are you using? XCS or lightburn?
@@EmbraceMaking sorry I found out a lead wasn't plugged in. All working now just can't sell anything. Pretty pissed off at mo. Alot of money to part with. I would ask for advice on a new selling engraving business. Hope there's options. Currently trying to sell on eBay. Then Etsy hopefully next week.! I really thought it would kick off
got my upgraded today but very sad to see it does not work with the S1 its just far to tall even with the riser to work...bummer but thank you for the videos
Hi Shawn, the S1 requires the riser base from XTOOL to accommodate the RA2 even without my tilt kit. Do you have the riser base?
Can't find the main board cover on your site to buy. Please tell me where to order
Hi Gloria, it's here, it's included with the button cover: embracemaking.com/products/xtool-d1-pro-pcb-and-button-cover-kit
Thanks!
This was just a question :)
On the page for the tilt mechanism:
The link to the snap latch box is a 404. The panel with shipping & return do nothing if you try to expand it.
You should at least put the information on your website, from where you are shipping. Without going through the whole checkout process. Your site switch to euro as soon as i enter it, that gave me false expectations :D I guess the shipping cost from canada to western europe would be as expensive as the whole tilt mechanism ^^
You can do whatever you want, these are just my 2 cents with a good intention behind it :)
Nicely done
Thank you! Cheers!
Very helpful!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for leaving a comment!
Can you demo how to engrave a glass?
At some point soon I will give the glass a try!
Where I can track my order , I purchased the rotary attachment 11 days ago en still waiting for it
Hi Juan, did you get the email from my website with tracking number? I also replied to your email. Check your spam folder if you're not getting them. I'll reply to you again by email - tracking is showing it's still on the way. I'm in Canada so it looks like your order spent about four days in customs which I unfortunately can't control, sorry about that.
@@EmbraceMaking I got the email thank you for the info , I can track the package now
How to purchase xtool RA2 pro machine from nepal.@ price
Do you have any xTool P2 videos?
Sadly not yet! Maybe XTOOL will send me one someday :)
Do you sell the file for the attachment so I can print it? 18:53
@embrace making could you answer my questions from 3 weeks ago please?
1) this is great
2) I would have just not engraved a mug with that handle lol
The switch to the square nuts is not a good one - they bind very easily, to the point where I simply cannot use your tilt mechanism. I couldn't even be bothered to fight with installing it.
Hi Steven, are you referring to the all metal nuts in the channel? You're the first to have had this issue to my knowledge. If this is the case please contact me using the contact form on my website and I can get you some of the original hex nuts with the plastic inserts if you like those better! Thanks!
Where are you located
Well done!! Just as soon as I have money falling out of my ass I'm getting one!!
I think they are running a sale right now... might want to check!
CONVOLUTED
I got the RA1. Completely worthless. The rollers move so fast that the cup slips resulting in a horrible carve/burn.
Thank you Steve! Editing this response as I previously typed the wrong information. I just responded to you via email with tracking info. You should have received a message from my website with tracking info but sometimes these go to spam folders. Thanks!
