Thanks for putting this together, Cameron! I’ve been a Merz guy for a while, but have had issues with the sizing and the L shrinking a bit too much throughout the life of wear. I have been waiting for this video to drop since you teased it a few months back and it didn't dissapoint. I own a Warehouse Slub Cotton loopwheel T and love it! I've had my eye on the Tezomeya in the Fujinezu-iro colorway for some time now. I was never sure about sizing, so I'm really glad you mentioned it in this video since we seem to be about the same size in everything. Any shrinkage from the Tezomeya?

The Tezomeya are my favorite of the lot. You get hand dyeing, colors and texture which makes the visually interesting. Natural dyes and organic cotton construction are also a bonus.
The warehouse is the one I'm most keen to try. I've had a few other items from them that have been great. Thanks for reviewing so many great brands!
Thanks for another great informative video. I’m trying to figure out my size in some
of these brands, would you mind revealing how tall you are? The tezomeya was definitely the most appealing on my first watch of the video, plus i’m a big John Mayer fan. I’m not a huge fan of the boxy and a little short fit. I prefer the more modern longer tee’s, but very similar to how you phrased it “tailored” but not fitted. Couple other questions if you have time.
How heavy do you think a shirt needs to be to make sure it’s not shear?
Lastly, have you tried, or what do you think of the company Asket ?
Have been waiting for this video, thanks Cameron. For me it has to be the samurai; so much texture....love it!. Unfortunately it's sold out everywhere in my size, so the next t shirt I'm buying is either going to be the Merz or the Warehouse. Already have the Merz in the long sleeve version and it's a beast

I love the “Utilitees” shirt! The scrap material “U” as a logo is just so interesting and unique. I also really like the MerzB as a plain simple tee that seemed to fit really well. Thanks for another great review!

Hi Cameron, thanks for the video was handy mainly because yesterday I wore for the first time a T-shirt from Utilitiees and I was looking on your youtube channel to find out if you had some comments about this brand Utilitiees. And so I find out that you will release a fresh new video with this brand and other ones. I am new in this endeavor loop wheel t-shirt. And I just have Iron Heart and Utilities. I have learned of new brands from your channel that I'm planning to consider in the future. I'm using the t-shirt from Utilitees size XL and feels well even do I am a size large.
My favorite t-shirt was Iron Heart. Because the t-shirt looks more vintage from 1920 - 1940 military. The shirt sleeves look wider in comparison with the other seven t-shirts shown and that gives a distinctive look.

Great video Cameron. I haven't tried any of those tees, but I think the 3Sixteen black ones were my favorite. Plus, they seemed like a good value when compared to the others.

Another great vid! As a 6'1" guy with a long torso, I gotta say that the Indigofera Wilson has been a revelation. The sleeves are a bit short and make me feel like I need to do some bicep curls, but the fit everywhere else is fantastic.
I did try one of these on a year or so ago. From memory It did sit right on me but they do come in some great colours and are well priced.
I want to try the tezomeya tee for their comfy and beautiful color. I owned the 14oz MerzB for a while, it is really good and always keep the form like the first time you wear. Like your video, please keep it up.

Even though the slub makes it a rougher feeling shirt, I am obsessed with that samurai shirt with the flecks. Such a visually interesting textile
Really love the Warehouse & Co's texture with the horizontal lines throughout, but the slubby texture of the Samurai t-shirt is just beautiful

I personally have the Warehouse tee but I'm just not a fan of the texture after a few washes. T-shirt just feels ruined to me now, but the Tezomeya itself actually looks the most appealing after I watched this video. Never heard of it before, but I prefer a soft, light feel and it seems like this one hits the mark best. Will consider picking one up soon..
Tezomeya also offers life time free re-dye on their shirts. Also their cotton is organic foxfibre. A lot which is produced in Texas. Pretty cool brand for the whole process of their manufacturing.

Definitely going to buy the samurai cotton slub for the extra length over the boxy fit ones and the texture looks really interesting.
The tezomeya looks really nice; love their color selection. Interested in picking up an Iron Heart to try soon. Also dig Lady White Co. Their Grindle wash is a great color!

Hey James, Change as in new shirts? I really enjoy comparing all the brands and types of fabrics. You cannot go wrong with most of these. The SDA one is just killer!
Picked up a Warehouse shirt based on this video. Only had the chance to wear it once so far. Biggest concern was sizing---I ended up sizing up and giving it a cold wash + tumble dry to shrink it down based on the advice of the guys at Standard and Strange in Oakland. Definitely shrunk down after the wash but seems to have stretched back out the wear. Hoping that a few more washes brings it down a bit consistently.
Anyway, besides sizing difficulties, it's a beautiful shirt. Feels substantial and yet soft with an awesome texture. I got the pocket version, an the pocket is also somehow a very appealing shape. Probably the only thing I dislike about it is the wide sleeves (they don't taper at all).
Hey Josh, good to hear you're enjoying it. I wore mine yesterday in fact. Agree the shortness is off putting for some, though weirdly i think I'm used to it. I almost feel like I wear it as an undershirt when wearing a pullover these days. Maybe as it is colder. Super soft shirt.
Really enjoy these T Shirt reviews. Keep them up! My favorite would be the Iron Heart T, mainly for the fabric. I really enjoy wearing Ts that have a boxy fit. Loop wheel Ts are very nice to look at but I can’t see myself wearing them. Good luck to everyone and cheers!

What’s the weight of the 4601 warehouse shirt?
How are does the Reigning champ shirts stacked against these? I have a bunch of RC. I love the quality, the fit and the feel of the material.
Great vid - think you could do a lot more on tees. My favourite would be the Warehouse for the look of the material but I just do not like that short a tee (I actually think the material looks similar to the Real McCoy one you don’t like). I think my favourite is the Samurai but I would t spend that much on a tee, just as a point of principle. Apart from the colour I think my second favourite would be the Tezomeya tee - greet fit and length.
BTW - you really need to try the Sunray tees as they are amazing value and fit. Better looking than any of those in this vid. My fave is the Hanalei pocket tee. Also - I think you should put your height, weight and chest size in every tee vid

Another great video Cameron, sadly almost all made in Japan clothing is too short for my Torso being 6’4” but appreciate the craft that goes into them. Merz B have me covered though

I love the Tezomeya. The color lookes awesome.. ! However, the Samurai takes the cake. The fit and the texture just looks next level..
Those 3sixteen pimas are my go-to for the warm San Diego summers but I think the Warehouse tees take the cake for best overall. I have 3 of them and the hand-feel and texture are pretty damn close to perfect - not to mention the bordeaux color makes you feel regal.

@@CameronO My sumikuro colored one has a bit of a rougher hand feel after about a year of use compared to my other two, but no structural changes at all
As a tall guy, I've tried several over the years.
My favorite that I recently came across is the Bluffworks Threshold Crewneck Tee in a tall size. Also 6'4" for reference.
The Tezomeya is my favorite. I like the fit, color, weight, and texture. It looks like a perfect tee for me.
The Tezomeya does sound appealing/interesting but you gotta love the slubbiness of the Samurai!

I’ve got to say, I like the shorter boxy style like Iron heart. I hate wearing a normal length t-shirt with a shorter jacket like a trucker. Looks bad.
That Iron Heart 6.5oz loopweel tee looks great, the fact that it is white and thin almost discourages me to ever buy one of those, however, that look and texture is what conviced me; the 4601 looks great too but I'm concerned about its shorter length.
The Samurai natural cotton tee was my favourite. Seeing the cotton seeds gives you such a connection to the process in which the garment was made
3sixteen pima 2-pack easily my favorite. Nothing beats the quality and price, especially if you can grab them on sale. Keep up the great content.

Just bought a Tezomeya a few weeks ago while I was in Kyoto. Amazing shirt and you can send it back so they dye the shirt for you after it fades a bit.

Do you feel like they fade somewhat evenly?
I've had some natural dye shirts that lost color in specific 'ugly' places/patterns or 'stain-like' patches, and it made me not want to wear some of those shirts outdoors anymore. It has kinda put me off of buying more natural dyes, unfortunately

I'm a little late to the party, but thanks for putting together an informative video in my search for the 'perfect tee'. In the end, I found a good deal on Lady White two-pack and I think it's my perfect t-shirt in terms of fit, quality and price. I was wearing Merz for the longest time, but I was never quite satisfied with the fit...I wear a size 6, but I'm 5'8 and the length is a tad too long. Lady White hangs just right on my frame. Looking forward to future videos. Cheers.

Merz b for me. Just got an XXL perfect fit. The ones with the seeds look cool but I could never do white.
I really like and wear the uniqlo u crew tshirt. overall weight and thickness. Very well. it’s kinda like a warehouse and co style and human made uses blanks and that’s what caught my eye on those style shirts and seen the uniqlo ones and was love at first wear
For Merz, would you be the same since on their normal 8.6oz stuff? I’m wanting to try their 13oz shirts but since it’s a relaxed fit vs their classic wondering if that would effect sizing

Hi Cameron, I had the chance to try the samuraï one last month when i was at redcastheritage in Madrid, this t-shirt is absolutely amazing!!! I like my 'the flat head' T. I like the neck contrast stitch, and the fabrics heavyweight. I only have the white, tried to get the green as well, but they did not have my size. I agree re Merz B heavyweight T's really nice.

Definitelly the best tshirt on this video for me is Samurai. Fits very well and the touch looks amazing.
I think the tezomeya is the coolest. Previously, never heard of this brand and their dying technique is quite unique

Pretty similar to SDA Suvin Gold IMO, better color selections though (pure black vs heathered black for example). The sizing is weird, you need to go up 2 sizes usually for UES.
My favorite might be merz b Schwanen. It just seems classic, well made and understated.
The tezomeya tees look the best for me from looking at their websites. Great colours and decentlt priced. How much did they charge you for shipping to the UK?
I got 3 shirts and i can't remember it being much tbh. Over 3 shirts meant I would have gone over the UK threshold and paid customs. Make sure you check your countries limits.
Hey Cameron, have you tried on Velva sheen? I have some in size L (we're pretty much the same height and weight although I could lose a few kilos but I'm digressing) and they are strangely too long, they reach my crotch and look like a mini skirt. I don't understand why because the size is right for me but they are just too long, I think the fit is just bad. Anyway, I have to wear them tucked in my jeans otherwise I look daft. I'm considering buying a pack of two white t shirts from the real mc coys but I'm afraid I may have the same issue.
Yesterday I bought a terra cotta t shirt from a French brand called Bonne gueule, in cotton and linen and the fit is just perfect (65 euros) but I bought at a shop, not online, so could try it on before.
Not tried Velva Sheen though people do talk about them. There are sooooo many cool shirt brands out there. I'd love to do another video of 5-10 more. Who knows. Not heard of Bonne Gueule though. Will check it out. Cheers

I love the texture of the samurai tshirt, but you can’t beat the Tezomeya quality for the price.

Tough to choose on these. Tezomeya for the dies, Samurai for the process, and Utilitees for the cool logo.

I have tried several Merz B T Shirts and my only issue is the sizing seems to vary alot even in the same type, but I now have 2 that fit and they are really nice quality. I also have 2 Warehouse and Co and they are really nice to wear heavy, but cool somehow. keep doing your thing enjoying the videos ps love the explorer!.
Interested how your Warehouse shirts have held up. They don't feel as solid as my Merz B. Two very different shirts I guess.

I'm torn between Tezomeya, MerzB and Samurai. All the tees you've shown are top notch. If I had to buy one I think I would go with MerzB for affordability.
I ended up getting the Samurai SC-01 (both plain and pocket in black/natural, Merz B 2S14 in black/navy/white, and I've got SDA Suvin Gold pocket (black/white/grey) plus some Tezomeya (natural/black/indigo/pink/grey) on their way. I'm also looking into Warehouse Lot 4601 for my "beater" loopwheels but I don't like the short length/boxy fit. I've also got Dehen 1920 heavy pocket tees, 3sixteen heavy pocket/garment dyed, Reigning Champ midweight jerseys, and Stone Island 60/2 tees (all non loopwheel but great tees nonetheless).
Just an update on my rankings from personal experience:
I'd say Samurai SC-01 pocket tees are the best quality (makes sense for $198USD) but I don't like their colorways (no pure black, the natural and kuri/chestnut look good though). The textures/slubiness is great.
Merz B 2S14 plain tee is a very close second and much cheaper with better color selections (charcoal/navy/white/natural/red), there's also a 2S15 pocket tee variant in black/white (also heavyweight but not quite 14oz like the 2S14/Samurai SC-01).
SDA Suvin Gold pocket tees feels incredible to the touch - it's very soft and pleasant to wear. Definitely need to size up though and they don't have a pure black variant (they only have heathered black, grey and white).
Tezomeya won't ship my order (6 tees in 175cm short) until late October and my Warehouse Lot 4601 Slubby tees should be here next week.

Iron heart 6.5 oz, I just adore Iron heart clothing, I started off with there 25oz 666, now I have around 5 pieces from iron heart, perfect fit perfect made!
