you can often find Merz B stuff on sale, especially in multipacks, so that's one way to knock down the price. I think what they do offer that other brands don't are some pretty interesting fits, + there's just something to the fabric that makes you wanna constantly run your fingers over it. it also molds nicely to your body since it's so stretchy and bouncy
you should try Girelli Bruni, slimmer fit, long, and exceptional cotton - in a different league than Merz or Olderbest for a loop wheel shirt that's half the price than Merz
Girelli is definitely more of a “dressy” shirt with a glossy finish to it and twice the price of Merz. Merz has a soft hand feel, but definitely more texture and weight.
I'm willing to pay more for a good quality top, but Merz's prices are a lot. I've found another manufactorer (also German, also a revived brand, funny enough) called "Pike Brothers". They have tubular knit t-shirts for €49 for a 2-pack. I can't find any reviews on them and I haven't bought any so I don't if they're any good or not, but it seems far more fair a price.
I’m also a shorter dude and I’m willing to invest in an expensive t shirt if it hits that perfect vertical length - is there any rival or alternative to this one out there in that specific category? Great video, very informative!
I wouldn’t even know when to start. I don’t think it’s sold to people. From what i gather, brands like wearhouse rent a machine to do there fabrics. I tdont think there’s a whole sale fabric but I could be wrong
I've been thinking about getting one of these or even the 215. I mainly wear solid shirts and recently got two Lady in White Co. which are great. They are "pricey" and with that being said Comfort Colors has been my go to, but I do notice the back of the neck folding in after sometime. Love hearing you say Velva Sheen is a great option so perhaps I'll look into them and Healthknit.
Have you ever tumble dried it? I don't trust myself to not accidentally put it in the dryer with the rest of my clothing a few times, so I'm worried the fabric will get ruined or overly shrunken (a little shrinkage actually wouldn't be too bad for me, based on the sizing given).
What attracts me to Merz tees most of all is the narrow shoulders. At 22.5 chest, they are just 18 inches at the shoulders. It's hard to find tees (and button ups) that have those proportions. Usually I'd have to accept shoulder seams drooping down my upper arm and I'm just not a fan of that look.
In first season of "The Bear" Carmy is wearing Whitesville Quali-T shirts. Then costume department moved to Merz B. I'm interested to know what your opinion is of Dehen T's.
Check out Schiesser. Another German brand. Availability is sometimes difficult. When Mr. Porter carries it I stock up. They are more of an underwear company. But they have the most comfortable Tees, Henleys, tanks and their boxer briefs are sublime. They are the best. I don't know what cotton they use for their boxer briefs but they are incredible, especially in the summer months in California.
Merz 215, best t shirt money can buy. Not boxy and well fitting. Cost per wear will be on point
I got one a few moths ago it's nice but not my favorite tee. overall quality is amazing tho

I agree I think I need to be on the sales hunt. Honestly best fitting of my shirts.
where can you find multipacks on sale?
@chrisgunderson2533 no clue honestly. Sorry
i've seen them in No Man Walks Alone's EU store, perhaps the US store also does this

Never heard of these. Appreciate the insight and review!
For sure!
Really like the page. Can you list your top 10 brands that you would say rival this shirt?
I got you soon!
@@JamesHerlihy I need this NOW. Literally holding off buying waiting.

For sure. That almost sounds too good to be true. That’s Uniqlo pricing. I’ll check them out.
Please make a video about Whitesville loopwheeled tees, been trying to find them and so hard to get.
Dude I would if I could find one haha.
Redcast Heritage out of Spain has them in stock. Hard to say how long the 2 packs will last.@@JamesHerlihy

I’ve also considered buying a t shirt to get professionally tailored/cropped like they did for Jeremy Allen White on the Bear lmao
Honestly that is what I was going to say. Honestly the merz fit great. Everything else I have worn has been a bit long
saucezhan 😉
Does anybody know where I can buy some loop wheel fabric from? Id like to make a shirt from it . Thanks

I think you’re correct. I’ve looked everywhere but no luck.

Yeah I think all of them are great. Really like lady white. The 215 is great but just a little expensive right now.

I don’t believe i have ever dried this one but i have dried my white one a few times and didn’t have any problems
James, do you own or have you tried UES Flannels? Thinking of pulling the trigger on one, but the sizing is throwing me off.
I don't. I'll check them out tho!
@@JamesHerlihy nice! Have a good one, James!
I'm a fan of the naked and famous tshirts, but these Merz b 1950s are my favorite
I'll be in nyc in a couple of weeks I'll check them out!

I haven't tried it yet. That are a bit expensive but maybe I'll try them out!
Looking forward to the video featuring all of your tees.

Yeah for sure. I just feel that 50 is the perfect price point

ill check it out!!!
I checked their website and to me it seems their women's tshirts are not loopwheeled, is there a particular reason for that?
I'm not sure, maybe because they are good basics. I would say a men's small fits pretty closed to a women's sizing
I need a wishlist video 2024
I did a grails video for 2024!
215 or 1950 ?
what one i prefer?
In The Bear, the costume designer hemmed the shirt to give it a cropped look.
For sure! That was the 215 heavy weight and he's 5.7 I have the 215 too I feel like I'm in between sizes on that.
No. Shrink badly, and becomes a weird fit.
If washed mine probably 50 or so times and haven’t had a problem
