I used to care so much about corruptions , now I just get money buildings instead, plus strugoi bloodline give 60% less penalty for lack of corruption which makes it pointless to spend any money on corruption
A couple of points that you likely knew but simply didn't have time to put in: Ghorst's army can be the cheapest to build and maintain due to his INSANE buffs to Zombies in battle. Between his own army buffs, his tech tree, plus the generic research, Zombies in his army are almost impossible to kill. Zombies in his faction are only a little worse since many of his buffs are faction-wide. As Heinrich Kimmler, if you take the two forts that guard the passes through the mountains, it's easier to fend off the Empire and enemies from the East.
Ghorst has an amazing starting position. The dark magic you get from battles has been increased by a lot and you get good raising the dead units from most battle sites.
Good guide. Each faction is pretty unique, so it’s nice to have some things explained further. I am just getting into Warhammer, and only just completed my first Immortal campaign (conquered all territory, no endgame scenarios) as the Grand Cathay. I remembered the Vampires being stubborn opponents plus being pretty cool, but I think I borked my first attempt as I engaged the neighboring Empire faction at like turn 10 and my two armies got stomped. Knowing more of the mechanics and the value of embedding heroes (something that made little difference for Grand Cathay) will be helpful.
currently playing Sylvania for the first time. I'm very proud of my first start. I decided to be "Good", and try to get a good relationship with the Empire. What I didn't realize is that's the 'right' way to to play them (They have a lot of perks, and skills that give +30, or 40 diplomacy with Empire, Kislev, Brettonia and Cathay). Now my kingdom is encased by a ton of allied human factions, with my faction slithering out, and attacking horde, and chaos faction, while my faction sits at a safe distance.
Niiice! They all went to war with me eventually the dwarfs to my east took like 15 settlements each (2 factions) from greenskins I beat the empire back the rest of my vampire Kin south died off slowly killed by the tomb kings my only allies were the skaven infestation that came from the west 😢 wish I noticed that diplomacy buff 😅
Thanks Damneders. I'd love to see a Kislev guide with all the new Chaos faction starting locations impacting your strategy, as well as Boris' start which looks like a nightmare (but a lot of fun)
Thanks for the vid! Tbh, Mannfred looks kinda OP in the long term compared to the other VC LLs, not only does he have the best chances of confederating every other VC faction (which I feel like should be Vlad's thing as in lore the other vampires kkinda dislike Mannfred and don't want to fight besides him) but the faction effects granted for collecting Nagash's books are insane and can be doubled through his unique building. I'm a bit sad for the other VC lords and especially for my boï Vlad whom despite being the founder of the bloodline feels so lackluster in comparison. I really do hope we'll get to see some rework/rebalancing/tweaking to make at least some of the other VC LLs at least half as appealing as Mannfred.
His Skilltree doesnt boost anything tho. Just Stats and he gets 2 Lores of Magic. No campaign/unit buffs. But yes, Vlad (and also Isabella) could need a little rework in their skill tree, the only thing vlad has right now, is his insane regeneration, but he doesnt buff anything quite like Ghorst or Kemmler
@@Lord_Game Yeah but the fact that his skill tree doesn't boost anything doesn't make it any less appealing, in fact it's the opposite: the only way you can benefit from his great Books of Nagash mechanics, research rate and diplomacy bonuses is to pick Mannfred as your faction leader. Whereas you can just confederate the other VC LLs and benefit from the great faction-wide bonuses/perks some of them can give since they get a lot of these perks through their skill trees as opposed to faction effects.
Appreciate that you hovered over all the techs, noticed that their is a 100% income increase for late game economy buildings for vampires, hopefully extra $ compensates for formally having free armies in wh2 (since elite vampire units are very $)
The base buildings only have 25/50 income so it's not an insane amount. It is a building you do make a lot of due to it providing extra hero slots, the income is just a small bonus though since its t4 and t5 buildings so it comes when you already have a strong economy anyway.
I love Heinrich Kemmler, but his starting location is so hard. Everyone just declares war on me right away and when I finally conquer them, it causes me to meet other factions that will also declare war on me. I just get spread so thin in all directions. Starting sandwiched between Couronne and Reikland on higher difficulties is no joke. Not to mention, when you finally take out Couronne/Carcassone, you meet the high elves and they’ll relentlessly send army after army nonstop.
Just started this game and this is my first playthrough. A lot of odd or irregular stuff has happened on my campaign map. The High Elves appear to be completely suppressed by Slaanesh but Norsca and Belakor are fighting constantly on that Island. I didnt destroy his stronghold but I cut down Belakor's main forces pretty early on so he is not very much of a threat to me aside from the occasional coastal raid on me or my vassals land. The biggest threat lately has been the Wood Elves who keep declaring war on me. They come and siege one of my cities and then I wipe their army out and relatiate by sacking their cities for money in a cycle. I never stay for long though. I dont want to border the Dwarves again just yet and the attrition sucks. Oddly enough the Empire Factions hate me but appear to be too scare to declare war. The Skaven down South appear to like me for some reason so they are my defensive ally and trading partner. I dont know how but somehow I am the number one ranked military force on the map right now. Most of my armies are comprised of Necromancers, a single Wight, and lots of zombies with a few skeletons.
IMO lightning strike is really unnecessary early on and going for it early game as vampires really slows how powerful your lords can become. The priority early on should always be Invocation of Nehek, Curse of Undeath, Vanhel's Danse Macabre and Raise Dead. Compared to those, the red and blue lines are underwhelming. The exception to this comes when you're saturated with lords and heroes later in the game who have all got these abilities and can support your new developing lord. Then, he can go for lightning strike or whatever else you want.
Would be cool if you could do a guide video on Vampire Counts landmarks or landmarks in general. Ie locations, effects, where to prioritise, which ones not worth bothering with/not worth the building cost. Bit of a gap in the market for that IMO
his zombies can get pretty insane from his skills +12 melee attack (factionwide), 10% ward save (factionwide), +500% regen cap (factionwide), 0.4% regen in melee (factionwide) and +50% weapon strength (factionwide) free zombies are a thing of the past but they're so ridiculously cheap that they might as well still be here
The addition of Tamurkhan changed Ghorst campaign so much for me. He stomps you so hard and usually take over the mountains relatively fast in most of my games. Then it is an entire shore to take him out since even if you take out his entire army he can still solo yours
And we still don't have a playable Mousillon faction, another thing is that now the VC have morghuls units but they don't have morghul agents which is kinda weird to me but for the rest they look pretty good right now
Great guide, can't wait to try out the new and improved vamp campaign with Vlad and Isabella! Is the Vampire Count economy stronger then before, as it was total trash in Warhammer 2 (was exactly why people had to skeleton spam)?
As a new player vamps feel really bad. having to spread corruption and being easily stuck with weak armies full of t1 units without seeing the way to upgrade them easily is really tiring. Also having no ranged options is also really annoying
The thing is that you don't really want most of your armies full of elite units. A couple doomstacks of terrogheists, varghulf, vampire heroes, or wight king heroes is all you need to crack the toughest enemies in the game. All other armies are better as skeleton spearmen with a lord and a few necromancers or vampires for more magic. Your lords and heroes are soooo strong with their magic and the skeleton spam so cheap, that you can have A LOT of armies with strong lords, drowning your enemies in a wave of skeletons while dropping wind of death everywhere. Of course, on lower difficulties anything is good, but VH/VH or Legendary sort of requires this playstyle
I really hate to see Vlad/Isabella reduced to Legendary Lord/Legendary Hero. It is so OP early on to have two Legendary Lords running around leading stacks.
Not having heard anything, but it doesn't look like the hero versions of Isabella and Vlad has access to their items. Given that they don't have access to the Quest tab and unlike in TWW2, there isn't a skill for it.
I see it say on the Von Carstein bloodline it just says "gains access to Sylvanian Crossbowmen/Handgunners", do these units still have a cap? Or are they uncapped in Immortal Empires?
+10% movement range is not "really bad". You can pick up an additional 35% in campaign through the skill tree, research, 5 turns march stance or being at sea 5 turns, or killing Tik'tak'to, but this takes a lot of time and the 10% you get with Vlad is right now and any additional movement you can get could be the difference between catching an enemy/settlement or not, or escaping from destruction or not. That said, it's not necessary while you unite Sylvania.
I've heard that the Vamps were made much worse in campaign for IE, compared to ME. That the things that made them strong in ME, has been removed. Is this true?
