A Dream Destination - Monache Meadows Overland Adventure July 2021 | VLOG #4

- Since 2019, I’ve dreamed of traveling to 2 remote destinations: Monache Meadows and Coyote Flats. But, forest fires and Covid restrictions delayed our travels till this year. In July 2021 we finally made it to Monache Meadows. It was everything I imagined and more. The water level is a bit low due to our on going drought, but still tons of fun for the kids.

Stunning
great video and great adventures!
Thanks for watching! I’m happy to be out and exploring.
Love this and great narration. Keep the videos coming
Definitely next spot on my list! I like the voice over. Nice touch
Thanks, appreciate that. You’ll love it at Monache Meadows.
@@havekidswillexplore how deep did you have to go to get that spot?
It’s towards the end of the river camps. There’s quite a few nice spots out there.
Great job on the video. I love that you take the whole family on your adventures as we do the same most of the time. Its wonderful to watch people pass the love of the out doors to there children. Great drone work as well.👍❤
Thanks, I appreciate that. The family loves the trips. We try and keep it entertaining with slot canyons, wind caves and such.
@@havekidswillexplore we will definitely follow along with your adventures.
Is a beautiful place bud the road is roof is only for big cars
Thanks for filming the road in - now I know I cannot take my minivan!
Definitely not to Monache Meadows. But, you can make it to Kennedy Meadows, which has a couple campgrounds and fishing spots.
Great video. Which route did you take up into the meadows? The 99 or the 395?
Gonna be heading out there soon and was wondering since I’m coming from LA. Where was that campsite?
Thanks. We took the 395 through Kennedy Meadows. We were in a section called the “river camps.” DM me on IG (HaveKidsWillExplore) and I’ll send you the coords.
Love this and I love your son’s voice over! Supper cute ❤️
Man you keep introducing me to places I didn't even know I wanted to check out! I was out exploring that way a few years ago but didn't go past the ranger station area. I will definitely have to check out that area real soon. Although I think it's probably closed right now and according to the gaiagps snow maps it looks like it's under snow right now. I'm starting to feel like I'm following your tracks now though!
Monache is beautiful and worth the drive in. The drive out is steep in one section, but doable with 4wd. I recommend going on a weekday, if possible. I believe the trail opens in late May.
@@havekidswillexplore thanks for the information and suggestion! As long as Sequoia doesn't catch fire again this year I'll definitely try to make it there this summer.
@@havekidswillexplore - I commented a link to a video with a timestamp of where that water was at Landers - not sure if you will go back that way but nice to know it's there!
Thanks, I watched your video just before you commented on the trough. I’ll have to scout it out next time. I bet the PCT hikers reload water there. Also, thanks for the plug on your video. :-p
@@havekidswillexplore thanks for checking it out! Like I said you’re videos keep showing me places I’ve never explored that are also pretty close. I’m glad I went over there because I would have never know the water was there.
Nice but totally forgot the big No Camp FIRES sign at the Visitor Center.....not cool
Propane fires were allowed at that time, which we had. We always check the BLM site ahead of time to make sure.
I was up at Monache meadows last weekend and didnt see any water stream before entering the meadows. Where is the water stream at at the beginning of the video. Great video by the way
Thanks for the comment. The river scene at the very beginning was recorded along the river camps at the north western side of Monache Meadows. I don’t recall any streams prior to entering Monache either.
Looked like a fun trip. Also looked crowded, any problems finding a spot?
We went Tuesday thru Thursday and were the only ones out there. No prob finding a spot. Everyone you see was part of our group. 😃
@@havekidswillexplore you have a big group!! Makes things a little easier if someone runs into a problem on the trail. Thanks for sharing!!
Nice video. I’m planning for Sep long weekend. Is there a water in the river? Also what’s the portable water can. Looks cool
You’ll enjoy it there. Yes, there’s water flowing. Although the level gets lower every month. The water setup is a 5G Septre tank and an electric 5G water pump. Works great.
Is this 2WD accessible?
I don’t think so. You’d have a hard time leaving, as the trail out is steep, loose, and rutted.
@@havekidswillexplore gotcha thanks bud.
