    Hi Katrina - another great video, thanks! The reference in the video to black tea should be “hei cha”, not “hong cha” - right?

    • @smartmandarinkatrinalee
      @smartmandarinkatrinalee  4 роки тому +1

      black tea in Mandarin is 紅茶hong cha, it's different from English.

    • @markbansemer1385
      @markbansemer1385 4 роки тому

      This one seems tricky to me, since it uses the character for the color red. Wonder what the proper way to say Red tea in this case; Dan cha?

    Is wakao vulgar/rude? Can we say it around elderly people?

    • @smartmandarinkatrinalee
      @smartmandarinkatrinalee  4 роки тому +1

      It's an expression. But we don't use with elderly people. I don't think they use it. I've never heard my father said it at least.

    • @Tk0mma
      @Tk0mma 4 роки тому

      @@smartmandarinkatrinalee Ah ok thanks! The dictionary said kao by itself can be rude, but I guess the full expression is fine :)

  • @maddysdaddystevem563
    @maddysdaddystevem563 4 роки тому

    This is a very good channel, but if we spoke Mandarin the way you speak English, you’d probably be offended. You don’t finish your English words. You don’t have a “ja “. You have a “job”., it’s a “word “, not a “wor”, etc.

    • @heikestoll1205
      @heikestoll1205 4 роки тому +1

      It’s just a slight accent, most people never sound like natives in a foreign language, no matter what. It’s certainly not offensive 🤷‍♀️
