Seeing you eyeball your alignment on the side of the road in the snow makes me so grateful to work at a shop with an alignment rack lol I remember re-aligning my integra 4 times in one week because it felt so very slightly off
not necessarily a strange place but definitely a strange reason, my dad was looking around for his wheel in a market basket parking lot after it fell off of his suburban while driving past, had to jack it up and put it back on also, when you were talking about panel fitment and panned to the 240, felt so weird seeing it intact that i had to go back and rewatch, i'm still in awe that the car drives again
Last Friday, me and the boyz we had to replace whole cooling in E36 due to pump failure. It would not be odd if it would not be a middle of the night at the mountain village under the church with -10 degrees, most surprisingly we brought the grill and grilled some sausages + got warm. After that we hit some mountain snow drifts on 70mp/h.
Unless there's some hidden problem not found yet, I'd say Seth definitely got a good upgrade out of that trade. It sucks regardless, but I've had good success painting in the winter by keeping the paint and the part somewhere warm (in the house, heated garage, etc.) until you're ready to paint, then take everything outside.... slap a coat of paint on, and then bring everything back into the warmth while you wait for it to dry and do another coat. It's a pain, but you can get a decent rattle can paint job on metal parts that way. I don't recommend doing a lot of parts at once because of the paint fumes if bringing them in the house, but for a few small parts it's no biggie. I have a walk-out basement and usually just paint right out the back door. I'm also now spraying down all my engine bays with power steering fluid as a rust preventative. Thanks for the tip!
My brother and I once changed a gas tank in the back of an autozone in Corpus Christi on a 115 degree day. We were road tripping and the tank got a leak that got worse and worse so we had no choice but to change it out. Thank god we had a tool kit and some stands with us!
Good trick for alignments!! Very quick too. The way I do it is a bit more lengthy but very accurate (works best for 4 wheel alignment) : same concept as the string alignment but you use jack stands to hold the string straight and in place, measure off the frame rail to make staring parallel to car while maintaining a 1”ish gap from string to wheel, then use a tape measure on front side of wheel and back side. If you’re looking for a specific toe angle (with a little bit of trig), this will get you there.
You make me feel like such an uncool, out of touch, ald fella. I've loved watching the rebuild video so much. Usually I watch Vice Grip Garage and all the other muscle car, pick-up vids or mightycarmods for their 'no money spared' but excellent JDM content. I have MX5s (which are probably not your bag), but I am definitely becoming more into the 'daily driver drift' stuff that is less gratuitous/glamorising like your channel. Some point when you get older you'll have all these great videos to look back on and I'm not jealous per se, but I wish I'd been able to record my teens and 20s in the way people are able to these days, like you guys! Maybe I'd see I wasn't such a bore??? - keep up the great content!

Great to see you guys messing about with these 90s legends. Here in ireland, between insurance companies refusing to insure cars over a certain age and the annual test its seldom you'd see them about. Anything pre 2000 is considered ancient here lol.
I just changed my oil at the gas station under the canopy by the pump because I live in Minnesota and it was snowing heavy, I needed to get winter weight oil in my Subaru Impreza because the temperature dropped to 8 degrees below zero, good thing I wasn't lazy cause it started
Alignment technique I heard is good is by using two tapemessures and two pieces of straight squared tubing. Push the tubing against the outerside of the front wheels, tape measure across both tubes infrpnt and behind the wheels and adjust based on the difference. Not tried yet but i surely will
Before i had access to an alignment machine i used to have a buddy hold a tape measure on the tire’s tread and even out the numbers. Only con is it’s easiest with two people but it gets it very close
My downpipe fell off when I was at the bottom of a dead end mountain road so I had to climb under there.. lmao one bolt left of 3 so I used vice grips for the other side very interesting time. Great vid!!

I blew an alternator on the side of the highway in one hour away from Calgary, Albert (Canada) on our way to Vancouver, british columbia in a 2002 mazda protoge. Luckily it was right in front of some old dudes farm who had a super big shop and a bunch of trash cars in the yard. He helped us push the car into his yard and we had a second car on our road trip so went to Calgary and got a hotel for the night. The next morning we were back at his shop with the alternator and as we pulled into the yard he was racing around in this trashed honda odyssey and ran it straight intothe ditch 😆 We couldn't believe our eyes but he was ok. Anyway, we replaced the alternator and had a couple beers with guy and went on our way. I will never forget that trip.
I live on a steep hill in Sheffield, England and have done some fairly sizeable jobs in "Private Car Park" for the doctor's surgery at the bottom of my road in the past.
I can really tell how much you enjoy doing these videos, I wish you the best of luck in your youtube career I hope you get more subs you defintely deserve it !!
one time i worked on my car, at work, on my break. got the part, got back to my works parking lot, and fixed the issue all in the time span of 30 minutes.
You going to start grinding and sealing up the welds on the 180? If your winter is there or coming would probably be a very good idea to finish the panel work and clean up and cover all the welds before the moisture penetrates it all
It usually takes two people but the way I align my car is with a couple a piece of angle iron with feet on them and run them right against the wheel and use a tape measure on each the front and back of the wheel so you just go off of what the numbers are, same thing though flat ground the ole roll back and forth every adjustment
I agree on the preventive maintenance on every vehicle. The problem of the other owners aren’t care their cars, even it’s just a basic job. Also, the things on your garage are well organized & clean. It reminds me of 5S system that my professor told us or I’ve read a sign/poster.
21:32 I guess it's not a strange place to work on a car but it was in a Target parking lot when my alternator literally blew up. Didn't even know that could happen. Got it replaced in like 2 hours with my brothers help and then went straight to work.
I did a transmission service on my 60 chevy pickup while it was parked in the street, using the weakest jack and jack stands i've ever used. I'm probably lucky i'm still here.
I've done more alignments than I can count but I've learned over the years that if you have good attention to detail you can eyeball an alignment just as good as most local shops and in alot of cases you can get it better, that said if you go to an alignment technician who actually knows what he's doing then you can get it dialed in perfect. one thing to remember when getting an alignment is green does not mean good, green means just in spec and specs can be very vague and even wrong on some cars. you can have an alignment all in green and be completely wacked out chewing your tires off or even driving in a manner that is unwanted or even unsafe. but anyways I do eyeball alignments on all my vehicles and have done it for friends and family. I like to set my front toe quick with a tapemeasure first, match distance on the front edges of the front tires to the rear edges of the front tires, or if it makes more sense measure from the inside edge of the front tires side to side forward and behind the axle center line, same procedure 2 ways of explaining. that gets it ballpark then if I have enough clearance to see from the front tires to the rear tires I will adjust based on what I see from the leading and trailing edges, hard to explain. then lastly I'll do a speed test. if a car is toed in or positive then at 65- 80mph the steering will feel too responsive or twitchy and this is a very fine measurement at this point, a very small adjustment makes a big difference at high speeds. if the front is toed out then the wheel feels vague and can have a dead center feel where you turn the wheel but doesn't do much until it moves a certain distance, the opposite of twitchy, note you get the same feel with loose parts. rear toe when toed out or negative makes a car feel loose and unstable, basically makes a tendency to want to slide or drift the rear wheels but in an out of control way like the wind is blowing you back and forth if that makes sense. positive rear toe or toe in makes a car feel stable planted and predictable. camber can be eyeballed and also adjusted based on feel as well but toe needs to be set after or always the last adjustment. negative camber which is the top of the tire tipped in towards the body makes the car more grippy in the corners but has a nasty side effect of chewing the inside edges of the tires off and depending on how stiff or compliant your bushings and tires are makes a difference how much camber you can get away with and or how much is required for maximum grip. low profile tires have less flex meaning you get away with less camber before the tire wear becomes excessive also camber affects acceleration/stopping straight line grip, too much camber positive or negative causes less traction accelerating or stopping, 0 camber or the tire perfectly straight up and down = maximum straightline grip so it makes sense to have less camber on the front axle if front wheel drive or less camber on rear if rear wheel drive. positive camber is bad all the way around with only 1 benefit on the front of a vehicle, since it promotes the loss of traction you can use positive camber on tall narrow top heavy vehicles to cause the Porsche under steer keeping a vehicle from tipping over, but understeer has it's own risks. under steer is when you go to turn into a corner the front tires slide instead of gripping and it's scary but on a top heavy vehicle it can keep the vehicle from tipping over and is the only advantage. now all of these settings have their own effects but balance must be attained between all of them to get the desired effects, for example negative camber and negative toe chew the inside edges of tires, positive camber and positive toe chew outside edges so if you do a negative camber with the right balance of positive toe you can reduce tire wear and get the best effects for drivability. it's all a balancing act and there's way more to it but I'm done with this rant so just ask if you want to know more.
Gotta start from the basics. Stick n mig are your bread n butter. They will help you build skill so when you get to tig youll have a good set of skills to succeed. Have you learned gas welding? Im a mechanical engineer and gear head who builds his own projects and I use mig n stick wayy more often then tig.
Good old electric tape 12 o‘ clock mark 😂 I have the same on my Momo Wheel but I cut it super thin and rolled that in multiple layers. The 30 year old leather is in such a great condition that I would not get it remade with alcantara anytime soon but don‘t want to miss the 12 o‘clock mark.
Lots of auto part store parking lots are my different places lmao. Also seths teg is gorgeous thinking of getting one myself, Currently have an rsx need a work truck.
"strangest place i'ce worked on cars" well... In my parking space where i wasn't supposed to... Changed a gearbox two times cuz i had forgotten the clutch fork 🤣 Also a pissed neighvor parked on my wrench just to piss me off 🤣
I fully agree with doing everything on your car yourself. But I'd much rather have a machine measure my alignment then eye ball it. I'm fine paying a few bucks just to make sure it's 100% or as close as possible.
I painted my cutlass at AutoZone parking lot when I worked there and changed the oil and installed a radio re wiring the whole thing all in one day!!!! hahahaha
Definitely need more Honda content 😂 but pretty much like the content 💪🏽 if you have any extra door handles for an Integra or find any at junk yards lmk my sister needs some for hers in Florida people are super taxing lol
The "correct" way for bleeding power steering is that you fill up the system. Get the car started turn the wheel one way till it bottoms, hold it and turn the engine off. Hold it forna few sec, start it turn it the other way turn it off and hold it. Repeat this till its good. You can get away with just starting and turning on a few cars. But this is the way! Oh and on hard lines like brake or power steering if im changing the line i always cut them so i can get a socket on it that way there is almost zero chance rounding it off.
Damn Fran has a steezy front shuv, and your tre, rock to fakie was 🔥 also strangest place I’ve ever worked on my car was when I did a full rear coilover rebuild in a random carpark near my gfs house
Strangest place I did was my first ever oil change. All I had was a wrench. Drove up half onto the curb and half on the road and cockroached underneath my car to get it done
Dude you gotta teach me those magic tricks you use when working on cars, I also throw parts to my cars and click my fingers all the time and it doesn't work, how you do it? Now seriously, great content as always, long time viewer here man, you have a good one! Oh one more thing, do you plan on doing a Q&A anytime soon? Im a mechanical engineer and gear head who builds his own projects and I use mig n stick wayy more often then tig.
Nice I just did the power steering line in my 93 integra the fluid ended up killing my alternator too
I love to see you skateboarding!! You are very talented!
I remember my Integra days.... Epic!!
You are slowly but surely getting me into ThisIsTooDifficult
6:46 Smooth edit!
Love the content man, cool to see another midwest guy, keep it up👍
Sick video man!
Can’t wait for more teg content
Damn son.. and you can shred the mini pipe??? Haha right on
Haha thanks man! Been skateboarding my whole life basically!
Firing line🔥🔥 switch front 3 was cleaan
Good old electric tape 12 o‘ clock mark 😂 I have the same on my Momo Wheel but I cut it super thin and rolled that in multiple layers. The 30 year old leather is in such a great condition that I would not get it remade with alcantara anytime soon but don‘t want to miss the 12 o‘clock mark.
Keep at the good work with those integras
Detication level :max aligning your car in the snow
I learned by changing a faulty pcv valve on your engine it will burn less oil 👍🏼
This is true
(This current motor has no pcv 😅😭)
It's just so old and worn, honestly needs a rebuild and reseal
Love the blue.
I wish you good luck on your projects man you rock❤
Lots of auto part store parking lots are my different places lmao. Also seths teg is gorgeous thinking of getting one myself, Currently have an rsx need a work truck.
"strangest place i'ce worked on cars" well... In my parking space where i wasn't supposed to... Changed a gearbox two times cuz i had forgotten the clutch fork 🤣
Also a pissed neighvor parked on my wrench just to piss me off 🤣
Could you make a video painting the integra?
I measured the front of the rotor. Wrote the number down .. then measured the rear of the rotor ... Added both & divided by .50
I fully agree with doing everything on your car yourself. But I'd much rather have a machine measure my alignment then eye ball it. I'm fine paying a few bucks just to make sure it's 100% or as close as possible.
Man thanks for the alignment tips
I painted my cutlass at AutoZone parking lot when I worked there and changed the oil and installed a radio re wiring the whole thing all in one day!!!! hahahaha
Best come up on the integra 💯💯
Definitely need more Honda content 😂 but pretty much like the content 💪🏽 if you have any extra door handles for an Integra or find any at junk yards lmk my sister needs some for hers in Florida people are super taxing lol
W youtuber, love your videos! Would love to see longer videos too
The "correct" way for bleeding power steering is that you fill up the system.
Oh and changing oil in a skate park parking lot then go in with a floorjack is big dick energy lol
I worked inside a parking garage that belonged to a supermarket ... It rained like crazy and you gotta do what you gotta do🤣😅
I did a radiator in my e36 @3am in an Amazon warehouse parking lot in New Jersey
Just recently got my jdm front end on my integra and glad I went with that front😎(still love the usdm front end tho)v
Love the Integra videos
Fran is such a boss !
Drove up half onto the curb and half on the road and cockroached underneath my car to get it done
you're insane on the skateboard! :O
It could be a great video to get to know you better!
Haha thanks for sticking around man!
I think a Q+A video would be a great idea.
I'll mention it in 3 weeks or so when I'm caught up 🤘💪
