Wouldn't blame TAA if he heads off to Real considering the owners at LFC don't show any ambition season in season out. Even after winning stuff FSG would rather be happy with that than further improving the squad.
In general its always the same thing with Liverpool and transfers especially as they have the contract renewal excuse ready as to why we didn't get anyone . I remember a summer of just contract renewals Liverpool are the only team that can only do contracts in a summer window very convenient. Im not really upset about the yoro deal im just concerned about what's next if anything. How does a supposedly well run club have 3 major 1st team players all in their last year of contracts its madness
I honestly don’t care who we sign or don’t sign anymore. Or who leaves. I feel so disillusioned. VAR, ticket situation, cheating, Man City 115 charges, toxic fan culture, fans being ripped off…we’re all mugs for putting so much time and money into this thing. Happy to be an armchair fan (from a distance).
I hear you on that, let's start honest conversations about these points. Unfortunately I'm not expecting many real conversations or change when football media is dominated by Sky.
All Sports are a rip off is you see the reason behind it. Especially sports which have a club. Not new news, but supporters (esp those fans that live for the weekend or on low wages) part with their hard earned cash to see/support a club whose players are on ASTRONOMICAL earnings. Winning gives us fans a temporary buzz at best, but we don’t benefit in our lives. Think about it: 1. Over a period of time: You waste time wasting matches (opportunity cost you could be in the gym or doing something super productive like learning a language, investments, learning a trade, working a 2nd job). 2. Money lost on buying the clubs merchandise (tickets, travel, goods, drinks etc etc). 3. All of our hard earn wages make the club money, but we don’t benefit in the slightest (unless they offered us shares in the club etc)… Gotta support your team, but don’t go to heavy perhaps! You learn that over the years and growing older!!
A centre-half and Trent contract renewal will do me this summer. Far more concerned about the latter than I am about signings. We have enough quality and depth to get at least top four and win something this season. I reckon there really is a lack of obvious talent available to sign this window, in every position. The club should start taking a few gambles on young players
Not one lesson learned, season after season left short at the back. Konate - injury prone, Gomes - cover for lb, rb, cb, and as of last season cdm also has a history of being injury prone, VVD - getting old, will need more rest. That leaves Quansah - a good prospect thrown in the deep end last season because of injuries, could end up playing every game. Matip - made of crisps.
I'm genuinely surprised that someone would say CB is their biggest concern for this side! Cosidering how tight this ownership is I'm much more worried about someone to take over from 32 year old Salah cos Harvey Elliott ain't the one for that! And a proper DM to free up Macallister because where we fell off top last season was games where we had 100 chances and scored none!
@theporkchopexpres along with Konate yes, don't get me wrong I see where it could help futureproof us but I wouldn't call it the biggest concern! Especially as Yoro would be 5th choice a teenager and on TWICE the wages of Luis Diaz!!!
We don’t need a Yoro. We need a fit version of Konate who can play week in and week out. A strong starting defensive partnership is key to a better season
After initially being one of Ibou's biggest fans, my patience with his unrelenting unavailability last season finally snapped and when my patience snaps it is tough to repair it to the point where the source of my ire no longer irks me. Last season is over but Ibou has hardly ever been fit since we bought him. He's had 3 seasons now and has rarely played 4 games in a row in all that time. I wish PSG would take him off our hands. I'd also be happy to recoup just the £36 million we paid RB Leipzig for Konate. If PSG offered us that I'd snatch their hand off and then reinvest the £36 million elsewhere in our squad...without a shadow of a doubt.
Ultimately the more time he doesn't sign the more likely he goes. He won't care what anyone thinks about him leaving on a free next summer when there'll be a huge sign on fee and a mega contract signed and living in spain
Trent genuinely seems so level headed and I don't believe he is effected by negative talk about him etc. He ain't gonna let any of that bother him enough to move from his boyhood club. The contract will get sorted imho and it's circumstances that have meant it hasn't yet..Real can get real!
The club probably do feel the same way with CBs as we all do. But not gonna say "yeah we want a boss center back" price will fly up! The kid we've missed out on is on paper good, but let's just see, not many players we're linked with that we "miss out on" have gone to do nothing.
Liverpool are one of the highest revenue earning clubs in the world and the fans have been conditioned by FSG to think and talk like spending consistent with that of a mid table club is appropriate. Stockholm Syndrome.
I'm a TAW UA-cam subscriber, why do I have to wait for the Gutter programmes to come out for 'free' to listen to them?? More Gutter for UA-cam subscribers please!!
I have sympathy with Mo's argument but Josh is spot on about TTA. As die hard LFC fans it seems unthinkable the Trent wouldn't want to be the future captain and spend the rest of his career a Red but, his world is very different to most of ours. Up the mighty Reds.
If Trent is willing to go to Madrid , then he was never equipped to be the captain of the club in future ..also on the owners they have been a disaster since 2022 summer transfer window .. no midfielder that summer and last summer we had to sell Fabinho, hendo, let ox, Milner, naby , Bobby on free and relying on young players from academy to save their face .. not everyone is klopp.. of the contracts of mo, vvd, Trent aren’t sorted by end of the year and no players in Liverpool are in big big trouble and play catchup pre klopp for yrs to come.. that’s the reality
Lenny Yoro was never good fit for us, and I'm sick of all the hysteria about not getting him - it is ridiculous. We are well stocked at RCB with Konate, Quansah, Van Den Berg and Gomez. It is LCB (and maybe LB) where we are are short - we have nobody who plays LCB to cover for Virg, unless we go for Luke Chambers which is not really credible yet. So paying nearly £60m (and paying £145k a week) for Yoro, who has never proven himself in a top league, and he doesn't fit our need, would be mental. It is not Liverpool backing off which is the big news in this, it is Utd paying such a premium above other's valuations. Real made it cleat they would not pay above 25m, PSG were valuing him at 40-45m, and though we never made a bid it sounds like we were in the same ball park - but Utd have paid nearly 60m ! They are taking a big gamble because they clearly intend to start with him, and if he can't make the step up straight away, they have a problem. I am pissed off that we didn't go for Calafiori as I thought he was perfect for our needs, but not Yoro.
If FSG don't change and show ambition , why would he stay. We are now fighting united for fourth place.. Stop buying Liverpool merchandise until fsg spend tge money we give them
All big clubs got the same problem with the euro,s and copa America so just calm down and let the manager see his players and im sure if the manager wants players we will get them but theyve only just got back and some still on hols after tournaments so just chill its not like Utd beat us to the player because we didn't put an offer in . YNWA
Trent should go. Get the money. He cannot play in midfield…his defending is not great. … cash in. If you all our opposition teams always target Trent. Think about it
That "Other than a centre half, I dont know if there's a need for that much" comment from Josh is a shocker . Jesus wept, we got played through midfield time and time again, we have questions marks over our LW, Our Striker, We have Robbo pushing 30 at LB and has regressed, despite a good end to the season. Liverpool dont need a massive overhaul but we need 3 stellar 1st team players or we are going to put Slot in a tricky spot- if things dont go well, the noise around the place will immediately turn to him not being good enough. He needs to be given a fighting chance.
To allow you main transfer target to join other rivals on a yearly bases and allow your three best players to enter the last year of there contracts. I genuinely feel sorry for slot because he won’t even be given a fair chance to succeed here by the people running this shit show.
"I don't think the transfer situation is too bad"? "TAA will have a quiet life at Madrid" You can see why TAW get accused of being FSG defenders. I like Mo, but he is grasping about keeping TAA. Won't play in midfield? He'll be playing advanced enough. Real don't pay transfer fees? They paid over 100M for Bellingham last year. The race issue? Didn't stop Bellingham or Mbappe. What next "He doesn't speak Spanish!!"?
Real Madrid have been drilled to be the antidote to Guardiola/Enrique Barcelona for 15 years. Absorb pressure, strike back with speed, incisive passing and individual brilliance. They have the perfect style to play Klopp’s Liverpool. I’m hoping we will be more defensively sound under Slot
There was no reason at all to wait this long. The club doesn’t know how to be proactive. I’m just fed up of this rigmarole every summer ah my god. We have so much to do. Just show some ambition for goodness sake.
I'm not a transfer hysteria person but I think it's hard to deny succession planning has been poor. We're still trying to replace players who left seasons ago and we've got 3/4 of our best players on the last year of their contract. I'd love to see the club sign players to settle in before they're desperately required.
Hughes admitted they aren’t going to be proactive. Now their actions tell us that they aren’t even going to opportunistic. New backroom staff, same issue. The problem is the owners.
One thing you didn't mention is that those pundits who persecute him, ie Neville and Keane, could be doing it on purpose, knowing that if they make his life tough enough they could push him to move abroad to a Madrid, or somewhere else. I've been thinking this since last season, when these links first showed up
I doubt they think too deep into it. They say things for clicks but that’s as far as it goes. The way Neville spoke about Mane, Salah and Firmino shows he doesn’t really have that kind of bias as much as he hates to say it.
What kind of coping is this that lille told yoro accept united or get benched the whole year. 😂There is no way that happened. If ur believing marca then there's a problem.
Looks like Real Madrid backed off Yoro due to money so no criticism there but I think Trent is very achievable for them and every player is interested when they call.
Why did LFC say they were looking at Yoro then? Shouldn't they already have had information about his salary etc. Why talk when they knew they were not going to act. Would have been better not to say anything in the first place. Why talk about Sepp van den berg when he's already said he doesn't want to stay in LFC? He's adamant in wanting to leave and it's not doing to end up well to force him to stay. Very short sighted to say there's no need to sign new players to regenerate the squad. Lesson not learnt from what happened last season. Where are the players to support the squad when the injuries start again. A team should not wait for more players to leave to sign new players if they need to build a new team when the older players leave. The time to add players is now. Slot can only do well if he has the players to support him.
With all due respect, with Arne having a good look at his squad before they make moves in the transfer market, I am worried our players will all look world class compared to his training sessions in Holland and he will think he doesn’t need upgrades 😂
@@RegayiRegisMatipanoKlopp joined mid season. That January he was on the verge of signing Alex Teixeira but it fell through. He did sign Matip and Gruijic but they didnt move until the summer window (along with Klavan, Wijnaldum & Mane)
@@graememurphy7123 my fear is it might be too early to bring in players. We have Hughes, Edward's, coach and the backroom staff all new. It does not seem wise to try and be in the market this early. Or maybe after the ore season then there is a chance we might eventually buy. But as of now my opinion is it is a bit too early
@@RegayiRegisMatipano theyll have people working for them that were there last season and will have all the data theyd compiled. Two of those people, Dave Fallows and Barry Hunter have been head of player recruitment and head of scouting since before Klopp. I'm sure Slot and Hughes will have been assessing things and in talks with each other since before they formally started and like us on the outside will have some idea of "Liverpool could do with this kind of player" and combine that train of thought with what the likes of Fallows and Hunter believe. I still expect two in as I have all window, 3 if someone notable like Diaz leaves.
mo askin if vinicius is happy, why not ask if you think vinicius is leaving madrid? The answer is no. Also trent will happily play RB in exchange for a massive medal collection
Mo saying give Trent what he wants. Why? Why always more money? He was born here, supported the club all his life. Already on a great wage. Shouldn't be about money. Where is his commitment to Liverpool as vice captain? Look at England Bellingham plays every game. Did Trent? So if he went to RM. If he is lacking in defence there will be other players to come in. Can he put all his trust in their fans & the manager as a newby if he's underperformed. Big risk for me. At least he knows where he stands with LFC. I personally don't like it when players get into tge last 12 months of a contract as their heads can get turned, stop performing & leave on a free. Contracts should get sorted within 18 mths of their end of their contact, if not put them up for sale. At least LFC are in control. Not the other way around.
If sepp van der bergh had done well in Germany surely a higher placed team than mainz would have asked for his loan services or transfer. Let the guy go and let him have s settled life in mainz which he seems to like. If you dont know if a player is suitable for you after 2 years you'll never know.
If we went out and spent major money and major wages within weeks of Slot starting I would very worried indeed. That would tell me that Slot didn’t have faith in a squad that he’s admitted to watching for some time, and a very good squad at that. It could also mean that the club doesn’t have that much faith in the manager. A left-footed defender yeah, but I wouldn’t expect much more. As for Trent, if it happens, then thanks for the memories and all the best. I believe we already have his replacement. So it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but I’m not a Scouser.
That would worry you ok😂 you definitely couldn't support real Madrid to much ambition and trophies. And Connor Bradley is not Trents replacement no disrespect he is no where near Trent as a footballer. That squad is not winning a league or a champions league maybe another league cup. Why are fans even worried about wages and money it's not coming out of your bank account big clubs spend bkg money and big wages normal unless fsg manage to condition you otherwise
@@supadizzle84 what's that got to do with anything ?if Liverpool dare to spend any money we are going into liquidation ,we bring in more revenue than most clubs in Europe and the world. We are careful with our spending. That has always been the case under FSG. The only risks I can think they have taken are Thiago and Keita as both went horribly wrong I don't see them taking a risk on an 18 year old. I ideally would like signings but I am happy to enjoy the ride and adjust my expectations accordingly if we make no signings
Doesnt seem strange to me one bit . Real Madrid and PSG have bawked at the price and wages yet some Liverpool fans think that we should be the mugs willing to pay what Man U have ! They probably going to start him but Real Madrid and Liverpool would not be starting him immediately so dont need him that badly to pay way over the odds . Besides fans crying as if they know he,s going to be 100 pcent world beater . Probably never even heard of him before last week. Like me so im not bothered one bit . YNWA
I think Mo is doing a bit of wishful thinking. As unfortunate the things have been with Vini during those incidents, Madrid as a club offers a lot more protection in terms of the media to its players. Vini's complaints has been with La Liga not with Madrid. Trent's life and legacy really would be a lot easier if he goes there. Liverpool should have never left the contract situation this late
Trent is stupid if he doesn't go, and I don't think Liverpool would be adversely affected. Bradley is a better defender now that brand Trent can't be arsed to defend, and Trent is no CM, despite him thinking he is.
Does Hughes not realise he’s not at Brighton anymore and if we’re outside the top 6 he’ll be out on his arse? We brought all these new back room transfer guys in and we’ve neither bought or sold or got anyone to extend.
How can we not think good of Sepp van den Berg if the club does? He impressed in the Bundesliga last year and has been gaining experience in the Championship before that. If they are happy to give him a chance, I'm fully behind him.
Are these podcasts required to be positive all the time? For views or for getting access into the club? What a load of nonsense that was. We are back to the previous 30 years. Alternating UCL and UEL second rounds, an FA Cup or a Carabao Cup every now and then, a star being born and sold to Real. And opportunism, of course.
The copium from Mo about Trent staying is wild to see haha 🤣 There is a very real possibility he goes FOR FREE to them...not to mention Salah and Van Dijk ALSO GOING FOR FREE...this fucking club does my head in man
i think Mo needs to take his head out of the clouds a bit. RM are the best and biggest club in the world. His best mate has just won everything there in his first season. he would get big money. Red tinted glasses on

Ted Knutson wrote an article based on stats at the time that Liverpool should accept 40 million from Arsenal for Suarez the season before he exploded. Like all stats guys, he's a clueless snake oil salesman.
I can’t say I was impressed looking at the videos of him - all last ditch defending and not great passing. I get that those more expert than I rate him highly though - will be interested to see how he develops. I will note that De Ligt hasn’t progressed as predicted, though I reckon he’ll improve a lot in the next few years

Spot on, same name as that autistic Mi5 fella found locked in a duffel bag too. 👍🏿
Less than a month for the PL to start and Liverpool haven't signed a top class DM which should be the first & foremost priority after Fabinho left.
We haven’t signed any player, let alone a top class DM.
FSG think Slot will make up for transfers. Grim.
So you happy for Gomez to be cover for VVD and Quansah?
@theporkchopexpres along with Konate yes, don't get me wrong I see where it could help futureproof us but I wouldn't call it the biggest concern! Especially as Yoro would be 5th choice a teenager and on TWICE the wages of Luis Diaz!!!
We don’t need a Yoro. We need a fit version of Konate who can play week in and week out. A strong starting defensive partnership is key to a better season
A non-injury prone Konate does not exist though.
Which parallel universe do you recommend to source this version of Konate?
@@ph8077 Konate is an example of the type of player we need not an 18 year old who has played less than 60 games
It's the name, yet Guttman was absent from proceedings
He's in Portugal 😩
Ultimately the more time he doesn't sign the more likely he goes. He won't care what anyone thinks about him leaving on a free next summer when there'll be a huge sign on fee and a mega contract signed and living in spain
Next window, next window, next window. A signing for next summer. A signing for next summer. And repeat ad nauseam
Always jam tomorrow with Liverpool
Trent genuinely seems so level headed and I don't believe he is effected by negative talk about him etc. He ain't gonna let any of that bother him enough to move from his boyhood club. The contract will get sorted imho and it's circumstances that have meant it hasn't yet..Real can get real!
The reason trent would leave is because we're not ambitious enough.Fsg aim is top 4,mind you we only got 1 league title under fsg.
You know the transfer window is really really underwhelming when even the Liverpool Echo is highlighting it. Time for the Anfield Wrap to do the same.
The club probably do feel the same way with CBs as we all do. But not gonna say "yeah we want a boss center back" price will fly up! The kid we've missed out on is on paper good, but let's just see, not many players we're linked with that we "miss out on" have gone to do nothing.
Thanks for the content
Liverpool are one of the highest revenue earning clubs in the world and the fans have been conditioned by FSG to think and talk like spending consistent with that of a mid table club is appropriate. Stockholm Syndrome.
4th largest turnover in world football, 11th highest net spend in the prem.
I'm a TAW UA-cam subscriber, why do I have to wait for the Gutter programmes to come out for 'free' to listen to them?? More Gutter for UA-cam subscribers please!!
Do you Ay for this sh ite?
I have sympathy with Mo's argument but Josh is spot on about TTA. As die hard LFC fans it seems unthinkable the Trent wouldn't want to be the future captain and spend the rest of his career a Red but, his world is very different to most of ours. Up the mighty Reds.
if we don’t sign TAA to a new contract i wonder if it will be opportunistic enough for our new sporting director
We need to make 4 new signings cb cdm lb rw
£60 mil for a player of that quality at that age seems an absolute bargain but you never know, it may be a flop. Such a shame though
YNWA
LIVERPOOL ECHO finally calling out Liverpool for their lack of transfer business (in other words a dig at FSG). Never thought i’d see the day.
This lot have on hell of an inferiority complex when it comes to Real Madrid. A few years ago it was Barcelona..
Ambition costs money, Dubya hates dipping in to his pocket.
Missed all of Neville's praise of TAA during Euro '24? Not one pundit is trying to get a player to leave a club to go to Real.
Kelleher leaving this summer and the club will be scrambling to replace him and this lot will be losing their heads.
Mid table. Lots of strengthening around the league.
I agree with you Arne taking his time to look at bringing in new players. Klopp did not make any the first windows he arrived.
@@RegayiRegisMatipanoKlopp joined mid season. That January he was on the verge of signing Alex Teixeira but it fell through. He did sign Matip and Gruijic but they didnt move until the summer window (along with Klavan, Wijnaldum & Mane)
@@graememurphy7123 sorry yeah I mixed up the dates there coz I remember Roger's left after the Everton game.
THANK YOU
Yoro will I suspect turn out to be a dodged bullet. His alleged wages continue Uniteds stupidity.
mo askin if vinicius is happy, why not ask if you think vinicius is leaving madrid?
The club nearly went into administration under the previous owners.
@@supadizzle84 what's that got to do with anything ?if Liverpool dare to spend any money we are going into liquidation ,we bring in more revenue than most clubs in Europe and the world. We are the 5 richest club in the world but as soon as it's spending time on my god we can't we are broke adminstration utter nonsense . It's just utter crap
@@nglforbes I think it's very fair of UA-cam to let people like you reply. Good work Google!
Embarrassing 😳 nothing never changes with FSG when it comes to buying players so who are we looking at and when are we going to sign players 🤦♂️
