Well done to Robbie Earle 👏 for calling out how the media - including Robbie M in real time on the program - constantly try to diminish Haaland’s achievements when reporting on him. Treat Haaland the same way for his achievements like you would any other player, otherwise, you reveal yourself to be an agenda-driven, double standard wheeling hack of a journalist. I expect that in politics but not in sport.

    • @MCFCTheMadHatter

@@amaanhussain3094 That only works when the person using the name calling is wrong themselves. If I call an agenda driven hack when in fact there is no evidence to suggest that is the case, then that would be wrong. However, if you purposely try to diminish someone’s achievements and twist facts to suit a narrative you have against someone, then by definition, you are an agenda driven hack. If you wag your finger at someone and say they shouldn’t do this or that and then you do the same thing yourself, by definition, you’re a hypocrite.
That’s not naming calling in a child-like pejorative manner like what it seems you are confusing with what I’m saying, that’s actually describing a person based on their objective actions that they’ve taken.
You would do well to learn the differnce

Doesn't matter, Rice still shouldn't have tried to touch it and move it to the side....go complain to the ref about it if you want but when you're on a yellow and give up a free kick you shouldn't be anywhere near the ball...I remember similarly Martinelli getting a double yellow last season because he blocked the ball after just getting a yellow

Thank your Robbie’s for mentioning the rolling of the ball as Declan Rice kicks it, by the letter of the law shouldn’t the ref has gone over after he called a foul and made sure the ball is stopped before a free kick is taken. The ball was moving as Rice kicks it out of play there’s no way a Brighton player should have been swinging at a moving ball for a Free kick it’s a dead-ball (static play AKA ball not moving).

21:38 "Lets just have robots refereeing"
Do they honestly not see the irony of what they are saying? They expect the ref's to never make a mistake, but at the same time want to give all the brakes to players (Diving cheats most of them btw, claiming things that aren't theirs, faking injury etc..) Robots refereeing is EXACTLY what most of these guys want.
Also you can not expect to have "consistency" AND allow the refs to make calls based on "feelings." Something is either a foul or it's not, it's either a yellow or it's not. And let's be honest that just about any time a ref blows his whistle for a foul there is always the question "is that a yellow" Because there are were few standard rules about yellow cards. Stopping a counter, delaying restart and time wasting (And even that is random at best) are the few ones but everything else is a question of "feeling."
And just one more one thing on "consistency," IT'S NOT POSSIBLE! You can have consistency within a game up to a point BUT you can not have it between games, referees and teams. See, that's where the "feeling" part comes in, refs manage different games in different ways and that has always been the case. Now if you wan't to have consistency between games, referees and teams then ROBOTS is exactly what you want.
They should be talking about Pedro not getting booked for delaying restart earlier. And NOT in relation to the Rice call, the Rice call was correct, it is done, over, finished. There is no need to talk about the Rice incident at all, The Pedro call was the wrong call so talk about that.

    • @pastafarian7779
      @pastafarian7779 2 місяці тому

Yeah, that was hard to listen to them downplaying Rice's actions there. The only way they will squash that type of behavior is to punish it. If the ref did what the two Robbies suggested, then that wouldn't do anything towards deterring that type of behavior going forward. But they're always biased towards English players.

The last time salah had a contract negotiation….it wasn’t settled until after the season and didn’t start until mid season. He wants to stay and so does VVD. They’ve both said they would like to end their careers here. Mo has 3-4 more years left…VVD has probably 5-6. Trent is very important, but it’s up to him. He’s won everything early, but he really seems to be enjoying his football.

The biggest difference slot has made to Liverpool is the fact that they are a more solid and less leaky unit. Under klopp they would often run out of attacking ideas against defensive teams and were always prone to opposition players running straight through them and in on goal on the break which cost them profoundly over the last few seasons. I prefer this more solid approach as under klopp you never knew how many they would concede

@user-qh4pk6ie6k maybe you should make that point to Arteta. Remember what he said about the Luis Diaz goal that was incorrectly called offside. Well let me quote him:
"I think they (refs) are trying to make the best decisions, they are trying to protect the game, they are trying to get as much support and be ruthless when they need to be.
At some point as well we need to give support and understand that mistakes happen. We’ve made mistakes as well and if the pressure is so much then it’s very difficult to manage."
So why should Liverpool fans for example feel sympathy for Arsenal when their manager clearly chose to look the other way when the refs made a clear and obvious mistake? It was very dissapointing to hear him say that and probably would have been better of saying he had no comment
