- Crested Butte is one of the most insane ski resorts in Colorado. If you are really into big mountain snowboarding or skiing Crested Butte has an endless amount of trains for you to explore and send. I was shocked that vail owned this ski resort.

Steeps at CB are unmatched in the lower 48! Good review. Sorry the lifty gave you issues. That's a new thing with vail owning the mountain now.
Best resort I have ever been to. Granted, I am biased and l lived in Gunnison for a few years. But, I LOVE IT HERE. So amazing because lift lines are never crazy, food is great, and the terrain was fantastic.
Crested butte's extreme terrain is top notch in Colorado, first time I was intimidated by runs in I don't know how long. Also, it was sick to hike the peak with you!

We need those lanes open in case of emergency’s when they need to get the sled in

Thanks, ive Iived a ten minute walk from the base of Mt Crested Butte going on thirteen years now. Needs less to say, I’ve skied a lot and made some people jealous. So, again thanks. We are a world class ski destination. Say destination, again.

I do feel like having to hike to extreme terrain makes the terrain more rewarding, like a copper off the storm king T-bar
there is no hiking stuff off of storm king, the hikes are on the backside of union

I gotta say, the steeps are amazing at crusty butt but they get like a 2 in the lift category for me. The steeps aren't lappable at at all. It takes 2 chairlifts, a T-bar, and a hike to get to the good stuff. Then once you're at the bottom to you have to do it all over again. The terrain is amazing, but the lift placement is piss poor. Three lifts and a hike to "lap" a zone is just tedious and time consuming.

At winter park that exact thing happened to me. No lines at a lift and a open area to get right on the lift and the liftees made us walk all the way back up like 50 yards just to go around the rope and come back down. Just let me on the lift man no need to make things more difficult for no reason

There’s very good slopes for beginners.
No it is but most the mountain is meant for advanced riders. Still a lot of beginners runs.
I would hate to learn on this mountain. Though they just installed a bunny hill at the base. But the original bunny hill, you had to ride Red Lady then go down to Painter Boy. It would have been a pain to learn there.
2024 update, Buckhouse is right the liftys are still turds. You don't pay $160 for staff to talk to you like children. Some other employees were nice, all good.
I have never had that experience and I live here…
