Good evening. I just saw your video. Thanks for sharing. I have a few questions. I have 1070 Ford F-100 that has the stock housing and I want to upgrade to a 31 spline axle, Chromoly shaft, and a 3130 or 3150 yoke. The truck has rear drum brakes that I want to change a Wilwood disk brake setup. I'd like to know your thoughts on this. What's involved in this build. Thanks in advance.
The bronco housings are the best, the head on the axle has longer truses from the factory. The yoke is really determined by power rating. The nongreaseable u joints are slightly stronger because there is no hole drilled in them for grease to flow. I'm still using my housing out of the 1966 f100. Shortened 9.25 inches and thicker 4130 chromoly housing ends (late bolt pattern torino style). Disk brakes are always a good upgrade even jegs makes kits for almost every application of 9 inch. Hope that helps, sorry for my reply being a month late
I've seen street guys do it. Hard launches are gonna be the killers. Clutch drops and transbrake launches on some real sticky tires may give you some problems at a track. If you ever have doubts, truse the axle so that there is no deflection coming from the axle tubes. Straighter the better. But absolutely yes

Do you think the 31 spline can handle 550 hp 600 torque ? On an f100 ? I know 35 is better. But can the 31 handle for a while ?
