    I had issues with streaks after spraying it. Noted that using a slightly damp(water) microfiber cloth lightly over the streaks, and then buffing with a dry one, removes easily the streaks.

    Nice video. The TW spray is amazing. I use it on my original 98 Trans Am and the paint looks new. After I tried the spray I ordered the graphene/ ceramic/ carnauba 10 wax combo paste from their headquarters. It is amazing. I'm 55 and have been detailing cars since I was 12 and it's the best wax I have ever used. Easy to apply *very little is needed* and great longevity. I did my car with the paste and just use the spray for touch ups after I wash it.

    I found this stuff lasts about 3 months with just 1 coat! I got mine wet the first time i applied it within 6hs and it was fine no issues. My biggest problem was streaks after spraying it. I found a few microfiber cloths (1 for each side, 1 for bonnet/boot and another for roof/other panels) helps with this. It also works fine just spaying it onto a cloth and buffing it in and then off again. I start by using the jetwash with some really cheap wax/shampoo combo from my supermarket (about £2 for 1L). Then i towel dry it, go over with a microfiber. Ill then put some polish on it (cheap stuff ) let that sit a few mins and buff it off by hand. Does not take long but i think its worth it. Then ill apply this stuff. Every week i just go over the car with a fresh microfiber and some "devil shine" yes... the stuff details love to hate. But the car just wipes clean with it as nothing sticks thanks to this ceramic coating ;). Every 3 months just do the same takes like 2hs tops all in by hand. Could probably just get away with washing and using this stuff but i like the ultra gloss finish i get doing it this way comes up like a mirror.

    I've been using it for about a year. Just ordered some Flitz ceramic spray for my kayak, but I don't think it's gonna get here soon enough, so I'm probably gonna use this, a coat today, another tomorrow then it will get to sit for 24 hours and ride on my roof for a 2 hour drive before hitting the river. I already did 2 coats on my new carbon fiber paddle, gonna do one more!

    I spray and spread this stuff around my truck and never wipe it off. I never let it go back to the way it was before I ever spray waxed it so when I reapply it and leave it on, it never gets much of a “film” going. Nothing a drive thru wash won’t cure. The film was much more noticeable the first time I applied it. When I spray wax it, I let it sit for at least 24 hours. Sometimes 2-3 days in the garage. When I run it through the wash, whatever film is on there is washed out leaving an immaculate shine. This method also makes the spray wax last much longer than when I use to hand buff the spray wax off right after application. I would not go this route (leaving it on) with a dense compound wax. But wiping the spray on and leaving it also cuts down on the time spent waxing the vehicle.

      So you just spray all over your car and then just let it soak in the paint and then don't even wipe it afterwards?

    • @sscotsmann
      @sscotsmann 5 місяців тому

      @@joshuajay2886 Correct. But I have a monthly membership to a car wash. So instead of wiping it off I let it sit on my truck for couple days and run it through the wash and it does the same thing it did when I use to wipe it down myself after the spray. I let the car wash “buff” it out to take that first layer off. And it comes out all shiny. It lasts a little longer before you need to reapply it again after repeated washes. And saves time doing it. I have only ever done this with a spray wax. Specifically the one in the topic. Turns an hour spray wax job into 20 minutes. Some people talk about it only taking 15 minutes to use a spray wax and wipe it off. That sounds like the most rushed job of all time. I could never imagine only taking 15 minutes to fully apply and wipe off even a spray wax. But I’m pretty meticulous and obsessed with getting everything well. And I also have a crew cab truck so that’s a lot of space to cover.

      @@sscotsmann I heard that car washes brushes are harsh on the paint. What's been your experience?

    • @sscotsmann
      @sscotsmann 5 місяців тому +1

      @@joshuajay2886 Not enough for me to care. I’m familiar with the swirl marks people will complain about. Usually marks that can be buffed out if someone wants to go as far as using a buffing wheel once in awhile. Honestly I’m not sure I’ve ever witnessed a car with no swirl marks when you look at it with the right angle. And it’s not a car that’s almost brand new or that’s just had an intense buff wheel job on it. The time it would take to wash a big truck by hand 3-4 times a month is not something I’m investing in. I think going to a reputable drive thru car wash is maybe a wise decision compared to some trashy unkept place. Places that have money invested to stay on top of faulty or spent car wash components as they wear away is good. Do it yourself car washes can be a joke with their maintenance and costs. While worrying about the previous guy that maybe loaded mud into the scrub brush after his hillbilly adventures. I also think that never allowing the wax layer to completely wash off before reapplying a spray or compound again might help minimize these “micro” scratches from washing in general. I’m sure if you look hard enough you will find someone to complain about a drive through car wash destroying their paint job to any degree beyond these swirl marks. But accidents happen I’m sure. I’ve never personally witnessed this with anyone I know. Ever since drive thru car washes were made affordable through monthly unlimited plans, I have been using them. So maybe about 8-10 years. The only thing that happened was my current trucks antenna snapped off. It was a stock antenna but long. The car wash reimbursed me in full for a replacement. I switched to a low profile rubber/plastic coated one. Because I don’t care about radio reception really. I use apple car play with my iPhone music files. I’m sure there are specialists and car nerds that know way more than me, but these are just my experiences. If you do go the route of hand washing to avoid every potential for car paint hazards then you will certainly need to look into the right cloths, sponges and microfibers to use on your paint. Because even a fiber to abrasive can etch swirl marks in. Or if a windy day blows some particulate over your wash or wax applicators. So you need to store, wash and maintain these cloths appropriately. I mean you can lose your mind playing this game. I do invest in good microfiber clothes of varying types. I use a spray wax to cut time. I have looked into getting a coating that can last years regardless of how many times you wash your vehicle, but that gets expensive. So for now I look for something cheap I can do myself. Every 4-8 washes I reapply spray wax. Depends on the time of year and what the outside elements have been like. If you wash your car once a week these spray waxes will not last several months. That is a joke to me. If I was a rich guy, I’d buy a new or almost new vehicle and rhino line the entire body while having a black coating added underneath that’s more permanent than something like a Zbart tar or even anti rust oil application. No idea why car makers don’t do this standard. You can buy a brand new truck and spend over 50k just to have the frame start rusting in snowy states by year 2-3. It’s stupid. But undercoatings and rust converters are another story. One last thing. If my truck has been brought out of pavement Princess land and into the sticks, which I have done many times. Or if the winter salt layers on thick from a road trip. I always pre spray my truck aggressively at a do it yourself wash. I do this before I go through my drive thru auto wash. The part that irritates me most about the drive thru auto wash is the lack of a good rinse before the soap and scrubbers hit. If your vehicle is caked with mud and road grime, you now have an almost sandpaper base being scrubbed in. It’s worth it to me to spend a few dollars power spraying my truck on the soap setting to rinse it off before I ever use the drive thru wash during a time my truck is really dirty.

      @jlucguerrier Місяць тому

      I bought a battery powered power washer that fed from a 5 gallon bucket when I lived in an apartment. You're going to need to agitate the paint when it's really dirty. If you go through car washes with brushes you're going to get scratches and swirls. This product won't stop that. Most products won't. Be prepared to machine polish your paint eventually or pay to have it done.

      @@Benjamin-mx7lc I'm glad you asked my good man. I actually just rolled the dice and bought a Chinesium one from a company called Tacklife. I bought cheap high quality flashlights from them prior so I figured it would be OK.
      I ran it for like 30 mins once and overheated the motor so I thought it was broken. I put it away for a few months and tried it again and it's been rock solid ever since.
      That company got banned on Amazon when they cracked down on Chinese companies boosting product ratings. I think the machines are a lot better now-- I got mine in 2020.
      I can't recommend any right now since I bought an electric power washer, but I'd keep my expectations realistic. I don't think you're getting 1000 psi from a battery powered unit. You're not going to get shaving cream foam. You will need to let the motor cool down so you don't want to use it for like 10 mins straight. The hose was the most annoying thing because it moves around in the bucket. I think I made like a clip or something to hold it.
      Those things being said-- I'd do it again if I had to. I'd just pull my truck into the corner of the parking garage, being down my bucket and used the crappy foam cannon that came with the machine. I think I used a microfiber mitt for the hand wash and I'd go to the touchless gas station wash for light duty days. It's definitely better than going to a scratch and shine or paying for a mediocre wash. It's definitely not better than having an electric pressure washer and garden hose hookup but it's a close enough alternative.
      Definitely keep me updated on how it goes for you and I'll answer any questions that you have. Also-- I'd recommend r/detailing on Reddit. The page offers so much great advice from actual detailers for free 99. Lol

    Anything that is sort of a bear to buff off in this category just needs to graduate to the wipe off with a damp cloth extra step. It works for this, it works (even is official) for the graphene product, it works for Meguiar's ceramic spray, etc. Spray it on, work it in, wait, buff it off with a clean cloth, buff it the rest of the way off with a damp cloth, and finally dry it quickly with clean cloth. I use a mitt for the last step since they have a lot of capacity. It makes application take a little longer but ultimately be easier despite the extra step.
