Used the turtlewax ceramic coating like a noob and didn’t polish before. It encased all the water spots on my car and was a PAIN to get off. Tried rubbing alcohol, dish soap, car soap, nothing worked. Only thing that worked was to use a rubbing compound and orbital. At least I know it works well! After that I polished my car properly then reapplied the ceramic coat.
EVERYTHING...EVERYTHING tested here is freakin dope. Been using all of it (them) including Seal&Shine over the last 3 years. Extremely satisfied. One selling point out of many - the 3-1 Detailer is a full 32 oz's. It is very versatile as a basic detailer, a spray wax & Dry and also waterless wash. 32 oz's for $15. A little goes a long way. Come to think of it - a little goes a long way applies to the entire lineup. Gr8 review.
I have been using TW hybrid solution ceramic ever since Project Farm did a comparison. I love the stuff, cheap, super easy to use, killer shiny coating, and crazy beading. One coat last way longer than the carnauba wax I used before. It is a game changer compared to older waxes. I'm not a pro detailer I wash my car every 2 weeks, the vehicle is driven every day and never garaged, I'd say the killer shiny coating lasts 3 months with no help. I"m excited to hear what a pro thinks of these products over time. Great channel Josh!
I applied 2 coats of TW hs ceramic and kept it one year. It was still working. I did strip it off to give Avalon King a try. I didn't see a noticeable difference in gloss with the AK but I'm expecting long term durability out of the AK. The AK was easy to apply and the TW was stupid easy to apply. Value wise, I'd go with the TW. The prep is the more important phase so don't sweat the final coating. They both work.
The hybrid lineup are great consumer products. I can see for the professional detailer they are not ideal because of the bulk aspect. But for the weekend warrior who does not have a full blown ceramic coating, they are a great option
I use the graphene flex wax. It's expensive and I won't say it's worth twice the price as the ceramic spray coating, but I do like its flexibility. I can use it as my base coating, which takes the most work, but also use it as a drying aid, which increases the protection significantly, and as a rinse aid, too.
The Graphene Pro lasts a long time even as a window coating. With heavy rains in East Texas, it has lasted 7 months before beginning to show any signs of wear. On the paint, every 3rd or 4th car wash, I use it as a drying agent.
It’s no secret that all the TW Hybrid Solutions products are primarily Polydimethyl Siloxanes. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing. It’s cheap and effective. Personally, for the casual home user I’d recommend Griots Garage products. Better quality, better results, not much more in cost. Loving the Cayman. Such a fun car to drive. I’m impatiently waiting out the current car market. Fixated on a 911 Carrera 4 GTS.
Thanks, good video! I got a new 2022 4Runner in Feb 2022 (I know, not a Porsche, but I tow motorcycles, haul a bird dog and generally carry dirty stuff regularly), but I still like it to look good. I did a little research, and stopped by a local pro Ceramic coating shop. I noted they had mostly exotics in their shop, and their prices were just not in my price range. I extended my research and settled on the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic and applied it to my freshly washed, as yet unspoiled paint. I found it very easy to apply, and here 6+ months later, it has been very good to great at shedding water, dirt, tree sap, . . . I've decided to give it another spray today, not so much because it needs it, but because, this will likely be one of the last great days before the cold, wet, grime season here in the North East. I have a shelf of various waxes, cleaners, polishes, scratch removers, . . . So far, I have found Hybrid Ceramic to replace all of them.
Take this with a grain of salt because I could be wrong, but I believe Turtle Wax actually uses an emulsion with their stuff so it's not as prone to settling and separation. Obviously it's not like you should avoid giving it a good shake, but it's also not one of those you've gotta shake to the point of registering something on the Richter scale. Also, I'm a big fan of the hybrid solutions ceramic polish, it has a little bit of correction but not a ton. They have a two products in the line that are labeled "Black" because they have some fillers in them, which I haven't tried but it's worth noting they have some products that have a decent amount of filling capacity. Also be careful with the tire shine because it'll be wet for a long time and has some noted problems with sling. The hybrid solutions wheel cleaner is pretty awesome though and is one of the more pleasant smelling decon products I've ever used.
I been using the tw ceramic spray and pro graphine spray for a while now and the ceramic spray definitely last longer than the pro graphine and is a lot easier to apply than the pro graphine, under the weather here in south Florida the pro graphine seems to only last a month that's why on the bottle it doesn't state how long it last per application because you have to use as a monthly maintenance program for it to continue performing
I used this product Hybrid Ceramic Spray Coating today on my Toyota Fortuner SUV. The temperature here in Trinidad this morning was 35 degrees IN THE SHADE. For prep I washed and dried the car, wiped down the roof and bonnet/hood with prep sol then applied product and buffed the surfaces. Results were EXCELLENT! But the heat got to me and I forgot to prep sol the fenders and doors but still applied product and buffed...RESULTS? Excellent when viewed at a 90 degree angle.... at other angles I can see where my sweaty limbs and forehead left a couple of smudges.....my fault entirely....next time it's clay bar and the whole works. I am impressed by the simplicity of application and the shine...all that remains is to see how it endures our tropical climate - for now, 9/10 4.5/5** etc. Thanks.
That’s awesome!! I’ve been guilty of a sweaty arm print a few times as well haha.. what part of Trinidad are you in? I used to do sales in the Caribbean and Trinidad was part of my territory. I used to work with sports and games as well as Francis fashion
Big fan of the hybrid ceramic, use 2 seasons and actually does last me more than 12 months 2 application. I re-do after 12 but it still beads well after year. Detailer and Wet wax are ok but not as good as ceramic maybe not as slick. Really like the deep wet shine from ceramic. No try graphene yet so watching your test
Also, as a chemical engineer in a different yet similar industry, it’s cool to watch you use these products and make my own inferences on how they are made and why they behave the way they do 🤓
@@imjoshv I definitely will provide my feedback! I got a bottle of Adams Mega Foam and Mr Pink. Pretty surprisingly, to me at least, the parallels are closer than I expected. Adams Mega Foam is fairly closely related to Suave Kids shampoo while Mr Pink uses more industrial grade materials. The Adams is water based with surfactants that are very good but also very gentle. Contains a glycerin relative which helps the lubricity. Some alcohols to help evaporate to a nice finish. Preservative system effective at neutral pH. Think I might have to start making my own 😅
I just started using the graphene one a couple of weeks ago and love the results and ease of application. It’s my favorite so far, though here shortly my order of Avalon King Ceramic coating will come in and I will apply that and then keep using the graphene one as a topper to help the ceramic coating last longer.
I use the hybrid solutions wet wax and the ceramic spray coating on my cars and so far I have loved it and it provides great hydro phobics and decent protection, the wet wax is like a primer for the drying process and then I add the spray coating after the car is dry. Sometimes I use the hybrid solutions ceramic wash and wax for the wash then the wet wax for drying then the ceramic spray coating for the final wipe. The was and wax does not foam very well but I have used it in the foam cannon to get a good even coat then rinse it off and then put some in the bucket and do a traditional wash.
i absolutely love the turtle wax hybrid solutions line. i use the ceramic wash in the foam cannon for a final rinse to give the ultimate beading. dry with a dewalt 20v blower🤘🏼.
I really like the TW HS CSC. Application is smooth and it smells great. I did not get anywhere near the 12 months duration though. GG Ceramic 3-in-1 Wax last longer in my environment (South Florida).
Great interview I’m at Truax Square for years. It’s one of the best protections that you could ever put on your vehicle. I’ve used Ammar I like the graphite or black on black.
Congrats on the Cayman! I’ve been watching your videos for the best ways to care for my 987.2 Cayman S. I can’t thank you enough for putting this content out!
Thanks! I almost bought a 987 but the one I took in for a ppi didn’t come back with a great report. I love that body style though as well and and the s is such a fun car!!! I found the 981 and went for it.
Ever time I wash my car now I always spray the spray on a wet car (yellow) hybrid solutions and dry. It’s so easy and always looks so good. I’m washing my car less and less
I use the green label one and always do 2 coats and mine will last about 6months and I park in a garage and wash my car every 2 weeks. It does work good for the first 2 months though
I've been using the flex wax for months. Since it came out. I highly recommend this product. What I do not recommend is using it every wash. It does build up and will show smearing. I use it every 3rd wash. The first application (dry) is definitely the biggest and best thing about this product. I use it on the wet car and dry it after
Do you use anything in between washes as a drying aid when it’s not time to use the flex wax? I am trying something similar every 4th wash I dry with the Flex wax and the washes in between I use it as a single spray per panel and then rinse off.
First off great coverage of the turtle wax… I have been using the hybrid solutions ceramic spray now for almost a year and a half and absolutely love it… What I have found (against directions) is to apply a heavy coat once you have initially clay bared the vehicle and then apply 2 heavy coats and at least 2 heavy coats a year… works amazing!!! Also love this because you can go over anything, paint, glass, plastic, rubber… ect, just wonderful and cuts down on detailing time ford sure!!! Keep up the incredible work and can’t wait to see how these work for you!!
I use it as too. Since its so cheap, I also use it on just about everything in my house. It works really well on my gloss plastic air fryer and other appliances and makes them easier to clean off food bits!
I've tried them all including Seal n Shine. Flex spray has the best gloss and hydrophobics but Seal n Shine was almost effortless to use. All in all I prefer Meguiar's ceramic spray wax in the blue bottle. Meg's hydrophobics are superior to TW and it can be applied wet or dry like the Flex.
Porsche is just a regular old surname, with all the other old German surnames. In German, e at the end of a word signals to say "ah" at the end of saying the whole word. So Porsche = Porsch "ah", and its all said as one word. I used the Turtle Ceramics spray coating, on 3 different trucks, 4 months ago, and it's still holding up. Every car owner should put it on especially going into Winter. Sheds rain and snow beautifully, $20 to protect the expensive paint on your car, so it lasts years and years only makes economical sense.
Always had luck with TW but the green ceramic spray died after 1 Florida rainstorm on the bottom half of my vehicle. I did a full prep and 2 applications 24 hours apart garage kept too. Product was 100% dead door handles down.
Project Farm tested the hybrid solution ceramic and it came out on top. It is a great product and does last. I use the 3-1 in between washes and it works really well. I have not tried the graphene since the ceramic works so well. TW really stepped up their products.
I sprayed the Turtle Wax 53409 Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray Coating DIRECTLY to the panel. Then used both hands to spread it around all over the paint. And then I used a microfiber towel to 'polish' and dry it. I figure that means less waste of product soaking into the towel. And honestly can not tell any difference. The surface is super slick and the water spots still stick to the paint.
I bought some white vinegar and plan to use that in a spray bottle to remove water spots from the hose. If your car is super shiny, you will see everything wrong with the paint. If it is old paint and dirty, paint will be less of an issue in your life and you will be the master, not the slave of the paint.
I've been using Hybrid Solutions Ceramic spray coat and detailer and whatnot, buy I've tried out the 303 graphene coat and detailer and it just has this wet slick deep shiny look that I absolutely love, and it's been holding up tremendously...though the hybrid solutions Ceramic wins in the slick to the touch, but the look and resilience has to go to the 303 graphene in my opinion....though to me, if I were to use Ceramic again I would definitely go back to the Hybrid Solution Ceramics.
In my area I must wash and wax my black Chevy Trail Boss outdoors. What’s problematic about this is all of the spay products are hit by the wind and very little product reaches the panel in desired manner. Like you I have now resorted to spraying the sealer/wax to a microfiber cloth and then rub the cloth over panel followed by a buff with dry microfiber cloth. At any rate, seems the key to ease of application is very little product on the cloth.
I know it’s an older video but I use this ceramic spray and the surface is slick for weeks but at soon as I foam cannon the car with meguiars gold class soap and wash the car and I rinse you can see the coating is gone the water is sheeting and not beading. I did clay bar the car and all that but this time I did the wax grease remover from duplicolor to see if that works and the surface was definitely sticky so it seems to be bare for sure and I’m going to wash the car next week and see if the coating fails again.
Congrats on the por-sha purchase brother. I own a 981 gt4 and love it. It is pronounced por-sha, btw. It’s actually buried in the owners manual somewhere that it’s pronounced that way! Enjoy the car brother, and keep up with the great content!!!
I just put the Flex on my silver truck and then started putting on my sister’s dark grey Honda. At two sprays per, panel as directed, I could hardly get the Flex to wipe off. I tried one spray to no avail so I finished her car with TW Pure Shine Mist. Easy on & off. Maybe less protection with the Pure Shine but better than nothing. I will give the TW Flex one more try down the road. I did buy some better quality microfiber towels to hopefully help with wipe on/off. We will see.
I used the first one last week... pretty impressed for the price and how easy. even if i had to use it once a month it's so easy, I will be picking up another bottle :-) not an exotic car, just a 4Runner, but looks a lot nicer after the wash and spray coat for sure . Great vid Josh as usual and thank you for the compare !!
Big fan of the Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Sealant and their Wet Wax. Both peform very well. I hope they come out with a V2 of Ceramic sealant that eliminates the 24-hour wait time between layers. On the other hand, I absolutely hate the Ceramic 3 in 1 detailer as it's a streaky POS when used as a detailer. For example, try to take a bird bomb off with it then it'll clean up the bird bomb but leave behind a ton of streaks.
I've heard good things about Turtle Wax products. Before I saw some reviews, I was a little skeptical. But, I purchased a bottle of the interior cleaner, and have not tried it yet.
Tavsiyemdir.
I've been using Hybrid Solutions Pro Flex Wax, Graphene Spray Wax for a few weeks a lot goes a long way it is watery have to keep using a dry towel I'm going to try using a buffer wheel.
The graphene coating works well i recommend the base coating if you use it as spary on rinse off doesn’t seem to works as we’ll but that is a maintenance option for the base coating but didn’t try it like that since it was winter and I probably washed the car like twice so wonder how it works but seems to me like the spray on rinse off is waste of product can be used anywhere accept the front windshield
@@Cleofizoid the turtle wax graphene works very well it’s just kinda hard to wipe off but the performance in excellent my go to is Meguiars ceramic spray wax it’s very easy to wipe off and works just as well
Re: Graphene flex -- It's difficult to remove when you oversaturate the panel or applicator/towel. 1-2 sprays per panel is what works best otherwise you wind up with streaking issues.
@@audieconrad8995 read them again🥸, initial wipe with a dry microfiber followed with a damp microfiber if you have high spots/streaking--- "Base Coat: Apply 2 sprays per panel on a dry paint surface. Spread and wipe with a clean folded microfiber cloth. Use a separate microfiber cloth to remove. Fold cloth as needed. Use a damp microfiber cloth to remove any high spots/streaking."
Would love to see you do a video on the 3m number 1 and number 2 Expensive and professional products but I have never seen or used polishes that come even close to the 3m line. For a wax I may have to give the turtle wax 75th anniversary a try.
I’m still surprised how well this performs even compared to even more current products. I’m actually doubting my purchase of adams advanced graphene coating.
So many products, new product..it's all quite good. Hard to see the point of changing things often. They all seem pretty similar overall It seems. After two years of trying different things and detailing cars. I still like seal and shine quite a bit... But I did pick up the new spray wax which is a very nice detailer that made the paint pop more than I thought.. But none of it last long no matter what they say. Did the mcguire's ceramic spray which seems pretty good. The spray wax turtle seems about the same if not a little better actually.. I have no interest in these products after seeing videos unless I get bored or super sale.
The Ceramic Spray Coating is a good product, but it's not easy to apply. When you apply it you need 3 microfibre towels: nr.1 to apply the coating, nr. 2 a wet towel to remove all the streeks and the nr.3 to buff the surface, and in the end, after all these steps, the surface will be perfect.
i compared the liquid graphene flex wax. its way more glossy than the spray version flex wax think there's some carnuba or extra enhancer in it. pretty sure. hybrid ceramic spray I use on every new vehicle I get to polish and protect.. I reapply it after like 8 to 10 washes or notice its fading. it's so durable then u can top it with like bead maker to keep it glossy
Thanks for your great videos! Your my single go to source for all things detailing :-). I tried to search for it, but I could not find any videos for best products for protective film. I did just try the turtle wax graphene wax on my protective film and it was great.
I got so used to DIY Detail Quick Beads. Spray on and Rinse Off. Today I wanted to use the CG Hydro Speed Quick Detailer I had around. Remembered that it was supposed to be wiped on but I just sprayed it on after rinse post contact wash. rinsed it off then towel dried. Worst case scenario?
I have a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, black and use the Flex wax. It looks like it's a show car. The slickness is unbelievably good, just rinse or even a good rain will clean it off. Haven't tried the ceramic, but love the Flex.
Hello :) Ceramic Spray Coating is to use after every wash? If I wash my car 1 time every 2 weeks, after drying i always put the ceramic spray for finishing? Best regards.
Do you think the black ceramic acrylic performs the same as the non black version. Trying to figure out what the chemestry/longevity differences are besides just "it's for black cars." Also does it make sense to apply graphine on top of the ceramic?
Thanks again for the great video. I didn't realize that you were a mechanic also...you will need to be with that porsche, oh, don't race a Tesla model 3 performance!
Josh, please update after a while because the TW spray ceramics don’t really come into their own until they’ve cured for a day or two. I was initially disappointed with the lack of “slickness” as well. But after a couple of days I can really feel the difference. I had also fully de-conned and light polished before application. Such an easy to apply product. I want to get some Ceramic wet-wax as a drying aid next. Love your content. Helping us all, newbies and old-schoolers alike!
Hey, should i apply turtle wax hybrid solution on paint with 400 gsm towel or with WAX & SEALANT MEGUIAR'S APLICATOR and just clean the product with the towel? Also, if i wash the towel after i clean the turtle wax HS, can i use them again or i should throw them away?
I have been using Turtlewax ICE products (past) and now their new ceramic hybrid products. When they say it will last 12 months, that in fact is true. Would not use anything else on my car.
Just picked up a new Bronco Sport. Would you recommend paint correction before Turtle Wax wet ceramic spray? I've given it a pretty good soap & water rinse with a pressure washer twice. First new car and first time really attempting to keep a car looking nice but there's so much information out there and my biggest concern is doing damage. Thanks!
So have you had a chance to test these different one on a matte finish. I have a dodge challenger scat pack in plum crazy purple. The hood, roof, and trunk have the black matte on them. I’ve seen on some products say not to use on matte finish
Picked up a harbor freight foam cannon, changed the orifice to 1.1, using an electric pw with 1.2gpm, 1700 psi. Really crappy foaming with 2oz of chem guys mrpink. How much product do u add for the full 32oz bottle? Thanks Matt
I say Porsh instead of Por-sh-i-a too. Trust me, we're correct. Porshia for Porshe is the posho girls name. Love TW Ceramic Spray Wax. Ultra brilliant product and value.
I have a new 2022 Civic hatch bright nonmetallic red with 1200 miles on it so far. Do you think I can apply the Flex Wax without paint correction first?

The hybrid solutions ‘wet wax’ is a really good product. If you didn’t get it to try it’s excellent. Too bad they don’t sell it by the gallon.
Graphene flex wax is the real deal! That stuff is good
I really like the TW HS CSC.
@@imjoshv I wish you many good miles! I went 987 for the hydraulic steering but you can’t go wrong either way
Ever time I wash my car now I always spray the spray on a wet car (yellow) hybrid solutions and dry.
@@allendavis259 nope I don't use any drying aid. Just use my judgment on if I need to use flex wax or not
First off great coverage of the turtle wax… I have been using the hybrid solutions ceramic spray now for almost a year and a half and absolutely love it…
What I have found (against directions) is to apply a heavy coat once you have initially clay bared the vehicle and then apply 2 heavy coats and at least 2 heavy coats a year… works amazing!!!
Is it alright to use the graphene along with the ceramic products? I impulsively bought the graphene one along with the whole ceramic line.
Try using the the turtle wax graphene with a damp microfiber then wipe with a dry microfiber... worked rather well for me.
Love your videos Josh and your details. Keep up the good work.
Love the Graphene Hybrid Solution. Fantastic stuff! Great video here.
Legit saw the reflection improve on the first product. Pretty neat.
I've heard good things about Turtle Wax products. Before I saw some reviews, I was a little skeptical. But, I purchased a bottle of the interior cleaner, and have not tried it yet.
Tavsiyemdir.
Hybrid wet wax is really good as well
I've been using Hybrid Solutions Pro Flex Wax, Graphene Spray Wax for a few weeks a lot goes a long way it is watery have to keep using a dry towel I'm going to try using a buffer wheel.
Nice car with a great transmission. Thanks for the review on these products, but I think I’ll stick with traditional ceramic coatings
😂
@@Cleofizoid the turtle wax graphene works very well it’s just kinda hard to wipe off but the performance in excellent my go to is Meguiars ceramic spray wax it’s very easy to wipe off and works just as well
Re: Graphene flex -- It's difficult to remove when you oversaturate the panel or applicator/towel. 1-2 sprays per panel is what works best otherwise you wind up with streaking issues.
The DIRECTIONS 👈🏼 recommend an initial wipe with a damp towel - followed with a fluffy/buff. Absolutely NO issues.
Tuned in for future updates!
Great video again dude
Josh thanks for the video. Was really wondering about these new TW products. Do you have a detailing forum you recommend
Notice you don't use a cross hatch method which everyone else says to do. Any reason? Great video!
How long do this last?
The reason is because I want to try out the GYEON wet coat..
Realistically I’d say 3 months but I’m testing. The first test video will be up tomorrow
1-2 months
Thank you Josh!👍
I have a 2006 Lincoln Zephyr, black and use the Flex wax. It looks like it's a show car. The slickness is unbelievably good, just rinse or even a good rain will clean it off. Haven't tried the ceramic, but love the Flex.
Hi, question! Can I use the TW ceramic detailer first? Then after that use the TW ceramic spray coating?
Hello :)
Ceramic Spray Coating is to use after every wash?
If I wash my car 1 time every 2 weeks, after drying i always put the ceramic spray for finishing?
Best regards.
I keep a Rag Company Rip n' Rag box along with the 3-in-1 detailer in my vehicle at all times.
Hi josh I use the one and done compound and polish works great
Do you think the black ceramic acrylic performs the same as the non black version. Trying to figure out what the chemestry/longevity differences are besides just "it's for black cars." Also does it make sense to apply graphine on top of the ceramic?
I just waxed my ride using megs ultimate liquid wax - do you recommend the ceramic spray on top or should I stick to waxes
Thanks again for the great video. I didn't realize that you were a mechanic also...you will need to be with that porsche, oh, don't race a Tesla model 3 performance!
I almost bought there hybrid ceramic spray coating but ended up going with Griots 3-1 ceramic wax
How would you compare the gloss?
TW ceramic wet wax or TW ceramic spray and which one gives high gloss?
I’d like to see the follow up on these products on your car. Btw… nice ride!
How long and how much protection does your ceramic spray give you? Great video as always!! Thanks!!
I get a good 3-6 months after one coat. I never do 2 coats because I am lazy and it feels more like a chore than enjoyable.
Quick question on the gravity fed pressure washer set up. In the video you used a tall tank. Will it work with a low profile tank?
Hey, should i apply turtle wax hybrid solution on paint with 400 gsm towel or with WAX & SEALANT MEGUIAR'S APLICATOR and just clean the product with the towel? Also, if i wash the towel after i clean the turtle wax HS, can i use them again or i should throw them away?
I have been using Turtlewax ICE products (past) and now their new ceramic hybrid products. When they say it will last 12 months, that in fact is true. Would not use anything else on my car.
Other than TW, have you tested other ceramic spray coating products in a side by side test?
Thanks
Matt
I bought 2 bottles at Auto Zone on sale today for 10.00 EACH!
I say Porsh instead of Por-sh-i-a too. Trust me, we're correct. Porshia for Porshe is the posho girls name. Love TW Ceramic Spray Wax. Ultra brilliant product and value.
Haha 👍👍
I have a new 2022 Civic hatch bright nonmetallic red with 1200 miles on it so far. Do you think I can apply the Flex Wax without paint correction first?
I get water spots bad on my black truck from using that am I doing something wrong?
Could I use the Costco towels for applying and buffing any of these sprays ?
Thanks for the video. I have you turtle wax products in the past. They do good. Can’t wait to see the results of these 3.
How is this comparing to Meguiars Ceramic Spray Wax?
Can you use it over a Graphene coating?
Hi, am i able to use this on my vinyl wrapped bonnet?
